  1. well I understand he should have use the cutback but that type of play with a pulling guard he's suppose to be following the Guard. his shoulders needs to be square for any cutback and we know his vision isn't the best thats why a zone scheme isn't the best fit for him
  2. will fight with wright for the starting CB position accross Jimmy Smith
  3. Good signing imo. Now lets wait for a Training Camp cut for a speedy coverage LB. there's not much on the market right now
  4. What I like about the Ravens draft this year, they selected a few players I didn't know a lot. The more I take a look in these players, the more I like. That means their scouts did a hell of a job. We know they won't all pan out but lets hope some of them are great. When they drafted Moore all I remember is : not so great hands. The more I watch him, I see him catching with his hands and not his body. he adjusts to the ball quite well in the air. he's got that extra gear. I'll wait to see him in game actions/scrimmages but I thought he was a reach maybe he isnt
  5. just to clarify I'm not on the Moore bandwagon yet. Need to watch him more. I just did what the previous poster asked : underline and bold his statemant. I'm more confident on Young tho I,ve been vouching for him for almost 2 months
  6. I really like the little videos Inside Camp. Glad we can get some inside views
  7. Thats alright my friend. Some people think the same thing you do. http://russellstreetreport.com/2016/05/09/tale-of-the-tape/bronson-kaufusi-ideal-3-4-defensive-end/ What I find funny in this article is he said Kaufusi is the ideal 3-4 D-End but in the article he says Kaufasi was better rushing from the edge (like I said) and we don't know how he'll project since he didnt have lots of interior pass rush situations. I agree with that and the few times I've seen him rush from the inside he was pretty much just lowering his head and pushing without seeing whats going on unlike when he rush from the edges he keep good leverage and countain. I also agree with the writer when he says its akward sometimes I've said it earlier but he doenst bend akward its more about his pass rush moves to be honest he's really not refine. He needs to work on his moves but I think he bends quite well I've paused a few of his outside pass rush and he bends surprisely well. He's one of the prospect I've studied the more since the draft and the more I watch him, the more its evident to me he's a 4-3 DE. I'm not saying he's a speed rusher but a Chris Long type of guy who could take the Right Tackle to provide a clear path to the RB/TE for the blitzing SAM
  8. if you take a look at Kaufusi game tape, he looks a lot better when he plays outside shade of the tackle and he can rush from the outside and bends very well. he's plays a bit tall on the inside so if he faces the G/T he won'T be a very great run stuffer at first. his body doenst look like 3-4 DE to be honest right now. I'd prefer to play him 5-6 tech in a 4 men front (4-3 Under and Nickle) Look at 4:25 the move looks weird but you see how he could grow a lot http://draftbreakdown.com/video/bronson-kaufusi-vs-cincinnati-2015/ the way he plays could translate to a Chris Long/Michael Bennett role imo. Look at 10:27 and enjoy the next 3-4 plays
  9. Well thats the thing, a lot of players are better in 4 men front because thats a better scheme fit. Jernigan, ZDS, A. Brown, Kaufusi, Henry, C. Davis to name a few. I don't see why they would still want to use the 3 men front as much and force their personal into a schemes that don't fit so well right now.
  10. if he's engaged by Offensive Linemen I agree right now he lacks some core strengh, but if he gets blocked by RBs, I don't know lots of RBs / TEs who could block him on every plays. thats why I keep saying he would be better behing a 4 men front at this point
  11. well I remember that game and he made 1 splash play, causing a sack after a finess inside move on the OT. because the OT didn't touch him. pretty much every times the OT had his hands on him he was a non factor. he played multiple front in that game I remember he played some Nickle D-End outside rusher. it was more 6-tech. He also played a few snaps at 5-tech in a 3 men front like you said. he also played some snaps off the ball as a LB. I even saw him on a few snaps 6-tech in 4-3 If I remember correctly. what stood out to me everytime : 1- His first step is WOW 2- when he plays off the ball he turns his speed into power very well I remember a play he crosse blitz in the middle for a huge tackle for loss on the RB
  12. Its pretty easy to see when he's got a few steps his speed turns in a very good amount of power. Imagine what he could do in a disguised or delayed blitz from the LB position behind a 4 men front. He's very versatile and not a lot of RBs would be able to keep him blocked for long
  13. thats the thing, they could have resigned upshaw really cheap. They have no one on their roster to play his role next season thats why I'm almost certain they are going to a 4-3 role. Having a solid edge setter LB is critical in a 3-4 hybrid schemes like the Ravens used to play. Doom wasn't effective in that role. The rotation of Upshaw/Doom was very very good.
  14. 1. Its a lot easier to adapt the schemes to the personal than the opposite. 2. There were rumors the Ravens wanted to go back to more of a 4-3 type and the 4-3 Under looks a bit like the 3-4 but serve their player they have right now better. This would let Suggs rush the passer and not drop in coverage as much as he's getting older. 3. The way they drafted players. Sure you can say most of them are versatile enough to play both the 3-4 and 4-3. But in my opinion, Correa isn't strong enough to play the 3-4 position yet and face NFL OTs on a regular basis and still set the edge. In the 4-3 Under, he would be most of the time facing the TE. He would still rush the passer, but also use his speed to drop in zone as well and blitz from multiple positions. Kaufusi is another exemple, right now I know he's at 285 but he lacks a bit the power to play DE in a 3-4 schemes. He Bends very well and play very well the 4-3 DE position. He could be a role similar to Chris Long had with the Rams, bigger than Quinn so taking the OT and letting the SAM (Correa) a clear path to the TE or RBs in pass blocking. The 4-3 would also give Jernigan a very good season. He's a 1-gap type of guy and playing the 3-tech in a 4-3 might be the best thing for him. He will be a beast getting in the backfield a lot. Henry is another player that would fit best in that role on passing situations. If there were to give A. Brown one last shot, the 4-3 Weak Side LB is ideal for him. 4. There were also rumors the Ravens are going to run some more Tampa 2 schemes with the addition of Leslie Frazier. Having a very good front 4 is ideal for that type of schemes if you want to make plays. Young is a perfect fit for a zone scheme imo. He attacks and tracks the ball very well in the air. A ferrocious front 4 (with some blitzing LB (Correa- Mosley) will help the secondary a lot. Why do you think the Panthers let Norman go ? Zone corners aren't as valuable as man corner in a 4-3 zome schemes. THe pass rush is the key to the Panthers. 5. I mean that is just what I would do if I was the Ravens D coach. They have all the talent to play the 4-3 right now. Sure the 4-3 Will LB position is a bit unknown right now (thats why I wanted to Ravens to draft 1- Cravens, 2- Vigil 3, Jatavius Brown). They need to add speed to the LBs to cover the TEs/RBs what killed us last year. They could add a training camp cut, maybe move Weddle in the box in a BIG 3 safeties schemes and Brooks/Webb in deep zones. Weddle is very good at covering the hook zones, TEs, RBs. I mean its not a true 4-3 because in todays NFL you need to add speed, and the Will LB is more of a safety who can play the run pretty good.
  15. In the 4-3 OVER front, Correa will play more a ILB type of role. This schemes allow the Double A Gap blitz, LBs cross Blitz, delayed blitz where Mosley and Correa can blitz and confused the O-Line. Both have the motor to be used in that role. PICTURES ARE FROM BLEACHERREPORT
  16. Correa won't face many OTs... they'll adjust the schemes to use a DE like Kaufusi on the outside to clear the path for a SAM like Correa.
  17. The Ravens will play a 4-3 Under schemes this season (15%-20% of the time). 65%-70% nickle defense. rest is goalline/dime/quarter (15%) RE - Suggs/ZDS/Judon DT - Jernigan/Guy/Henry N - B.Williams/Davis LE - Kaufusi/ZDS/ W- A.Brown/Orr M- Mosley S- Correa/Doom/Ochi Some exemples :
  18. thanks guys seeing that is kinda scary for Forsett... 700k deadcap.. 3M savings if cut during training camp. if Allen/Richardson/Dixon can do the job, the only vet might be gone. K. Lewis might be cut as well 1,4 M savings Matt Elam deadcap vs savings isn't so big so they'll probably keep him 1 more year. same with Arrington.
  19. What is the deadcap vs cap savings of cutting - FS Lewis. - CB Arrington - DE Urban Do you guys have a site where I can find that info. some battle won't be won on the field but on the papers. $$$ is everything in todays NFL if you can find a young player able to give close to what the vet will give, gotta cut some money.
  20. The potential I see from Correa is crossing delayed blitz with Correa behing a 4 men front man if he comes untouched he flies like a rocket he's going to destroy a few QBs. Some QBs will throw undernearth and Young will get is hands on the ball boom I see the patern there interesting. You have Suggs/Jernigan/Henry/ZDS/Doom/Kaufusi/Judon/Mosley/Correa ..... add some twist and stuns and crossing A-Gap blitz from Mosley and Correa thats scary QBs have to be accurante under pressure against zone schemes. I mean Josh Norman is a very good player but a good pass rush helps a zone corner A LOT and thats why a team don't want to invest lots of money in a zone corner as much as a man corner
  21. I'll only talk about day 3 picks because the first 2 days should bring quality playing time players. Stanley will start at Guard or Tackle.... Kaufusi will be a rotational beast and Correa will play a lot of SAM Backer imo. Tavon Young has been my man all along and you guys know it. He's gonna get at least 4 picks this season I'm telling you! His break on the ball is very very good so he fits a zone schemes perfectly. With all the talent the Ravens added at pass rusher, this defense will make plays.
  22. What I love about Young is the way he plants his foot and attack or anticipate the ball. He's got a very good closing speed to attack the ball in the air and if the way the Ravens upgraded their pass rush, I can see DBs like Young getting lots of picks in a zone schemes. The Qbs under pressure will throw without thinking too much and this might result in big plays for the Ravens D. I really like what they did... they got guys with great cone drill, hustle and guys that fight to the ball until the play is over. Agile over fast. Guys with great eyes on the ball that follow the ball in the air instead of athletes like Artie Burns/Apple who have the potential to be good I prefer an undersized Young who could be a top 50 pick if he was 2 inches taller but he proved to have ball skills
  23. he said he had the green light so he can start working monday I don't know what that means
  24. I see what you did there...
