Thanks but no thanks to another injury prone uber talented player. We need to draft availability and talent more than talent and special teams ability this year. Listening Harbs?
Ozzie makes the draft selections, not Harbs.
I still think we end up moving Lewis to RT and what we're looking for is a plug and play guard, which will likely be easier to find that a plug and play tackle. Of course, we also need to find a plug and play starting center. One of these will need to come from FA, I believe. Filling both with rookies seems unlikely.
I don't know that we're in a good position to get Lamp, but I do like the sound of some of the talk around this guy. Unfortunately, feels like he's a reach with #16, but will not be around when we pick in the 2nd.
The Ravens have stated that they prefer Lewis at Guard and believe that he is best suited to play guard.
1st Rd - WR
2nd Rd - OLB
3rd Rd RB
3rd Rd CB
4th Rd OT
5th Rd OLB
6th Rd CB
7th Rd DE
wishful thinking here dont mind me lol
I like it... with the exception of RB.
We don't need anymore RB's, especially in the 3rd round.
"moving from right guard to left guard"
He actually he moved from LG to RG.
You know it's slow when beat writers copy and paste other writers news articles. LOL! Every player doesn't fit every system. Every team has a different environment and personality, so every free agent doesn't flourish with a new team. Look at when we signed S Michael Huff. He didn't make it through the season if I remember correctly. It was a rare mistake and I think he admitted it was very difficult for him in B-more. Every team makes the same mistakes with FAs.
You must be new here.
That is the essence of LFW.
Don't need another TE, especially another one that can't block!
Typical of the Ravens they do not seem in any hurry to address any of the free
agents. Need to remind Ozzie the season will be here soon.
It's been reported previously that the Ravens have made offers to all of their FA's. Just because they don't have an agreement doesn't mean they are not addressing it.
Hire Ed Reed to help, train, give our secondary a lot of attitude. I guess Harb's is just afraid he would be to strong to deal with.
WE NEED ED!!!! Let Harb's go. Anyone can coach a losing team.
Why? So we can be as "good" as Buffalo was last year?
No thanks.
I can't believe Hensley cited "domestic violence" as a reason we wouldn't sign Marshall. When can we admit humans make mistakes? Marshall seems way past his immature days and is the guy we should target if released. Garcon is another viable option, but I also like Aiken who makes plays when given the opportunity.
We keep talking about getting more weapons for Flacco. Helping Flacco. What if Flacco isn't that good? Maybe we should be a run first team like the Cowboys. We have already over-invested in Flacco twice and now we want to cater the offseason to Flacco. That isn't a recipe for winning.
PS: My 2012 Flacco jersey will be donated to a fan this year.
Apparently you did not watch the State of the Ravens press conference where Steve Biscotti said he would take chances on people who have a history of trouble, but that the Ravens would not touch someone involved in domestic abuse.
This stems from the Ray Rice mess and he vows to not go there again.
funny that STANLEY was as confused at what kind of lineman the ravens wanted,a pass blocking lineman? or a run blocking one, well actually ALEX LEWIS was better at both and a more complete lineman,STANLEY tended to get pushed around by the likes of HARRISON and BULL RUSHERS,he needs to get stronger this offseason,if you look back at the games when ALEX LEWIS was in at left tackle,we won ALL of those games.
You are way off here.
Stanley was a beast after returning from injury. In fact, he was the highest rated LT in the NFL during the last 6 games.
Alex Lewis is solid but needs more time and experience, NOT "a more complete lineman" than Stanley.
FUTURE: Stanley All Pro LT, Lewis very good LG.
we need to start bringing in free agent QB'S instead of all thse hasbeen recievers, the last time we did it was AIR MCNAIR and it worked out pretty good!
for just one season...
I just don't understand this guy is good but not great he disappears for games at times and takes plays off overpay this guy and be set back 3 or 4 years
Sounds as if you are referring to Timmy Jernigan, not Brandon Williams. We need to keep Williams.
If we got off of two picks that amounted to nothing in the last two drafts we could have had Ha Ha Clinton-Dix AND Jalen Ramsey. Because we so valued Bronson Kafusi we couldn't get Ramsey, similar situation with Clinton-Dix). When players start mattering more than picks we will do well, as long as Ozzie continues to buy into the mentallity that a pick is more important than players, then we will keep getting 11 draft picks a year and end up cutting 7 of them and 10 or those 11 never make it to the end of their rookie contracts and resigns.
I think Harbaugh is doing wonders with what the FO refuses to give him.
When is the last time we drafted 11 players and "end up cutting 7 of them."?
Answer: NEVER
During the last 4-5 years, all or nearly all of the draft picks have made the 53 man roster.
Harbaugh wont get rid of juan no matter what juans coaching is why romans here I actually think roman will help with run game
And Juan is gone... to Buffalo.
so were gonna get about 20 segments of the press conference all fashioned to be like news articles. c'mon guys, go dig for some NEW news.
A-freakin'-men! Most articles on this site have more filler than a processed crab cake.
And yet here you are reading it.
First off, Suggs should not be on this list. It's disrespectful to imply that the Ravens would cut an all-time Ravens great who is still performing at a high level to save a paltry $1mil.
Jettison Arrington and Dumervil. Cut Webb with plans to resign him after he 'tests' the market and isn't offered half of what he's set to earn next year. Keep Lewis as insurance if Webb isn't back and then cut Lewis if Webb comes back. Have Watson and Pitta compete and then cut the loser of that competition after
June 1.
Keep Wallace. Keep Zuttah unless a C can be found and waive him after June 1 if the position is upgraded. I can't speak to Shareece Wright but my sense is he should be kept. He seems to play a lot better when Jimmy Smith is playing at the other corner, but what do I know.
Cut Lewis, Arrington and Wright. There are all terrible and not worthy of a Ravens jersey.
Also cut Zuttah. Re-sign Williams and Wagner.
Anyone but the Patriots!!!
How could you possibly hate on a legend like Brady smh. Years ago i used to not like the patriots a lot. Mainly because they were just TOO GOOD. But now, since Ray Lewis' retired, I have grown appreciation for Brady. Whether we like it or not, Brady is a legend, and we should be thankful to watch a legend like him play possibly his final season.
Brady is a legend... and a cheater, as is Belicheck.
he is average at best he got flacco hurried on numerous occasions he is no Ogden he is a consistent Oher and we all know how that turned out he is solid but I wish we would have gotten hargraves CB at 6 but I don't see stanley being a franchise LT hope we finally draft a good CB this year with 1st round pick
Glad Ozzie make the picks and not you!
Ravens should trade their number two pick. It's always a guaranteed flop.
The #1 Picks have not provided that much either. 2009 Oher. 2010 Kindle. 2011 J Smith. 2012 Upshaw. 2013 Elam. 2014 Mosley (PLAYER) 2015. Perriman(????) 2016 Stanley(PLAYER)
Kindle was Round 2, Upshaw was not a #1 either.
Would have been good to see Reynolds in game action to really judge his progress more accurately. Looking good in camp is good and all, but not an accurate measuring point.
Actually, he never looked good in camp. That's why he didn't make the roster after camp. Dropping passes and looking timid fielding kicks.
John seems to make injury status a very high priority and injuries a mystery. News Flash, Nobody is afraid of this Ravens team anymore and the Offense & Defense is predictable. Ravens lost by 8 points to a 4-11 Team. So who are you protecting the Fantasy Sports, Bookies? This is just strange because Brian B never did that.
Perhaps true; however, Dumervil's injury was kept secret by Dumervil, not Harbaugh.
We'll have some tough choices at TE next season. Who do you cut from this group; Pitta, Gilmore, Williams, Watson, Boyle, Waller? Maybe we can get some value in a trade.
We said the same thing in training camp this year.
But with injuries, suspensions, etc. we did not have to cut anyone.
We'll see how it goes next year.
I completely disagree that a change at HC is not needed. Harbs lost this team half way thru the 2012 season. They won the SB thanks to Ray, Ed and the gang. Since Ray and Ed's departure the Ravens have only made the playoffs once and nobody seems to remember that we had to mount a 4th Qrt comeback in Cleveland in week 17 that year and we still needed the help of a botched 25 yard field goal by KC vs SD. If the kick was good Pitt moved on to the playoffs but since KC missed we moved on. Look it up if you dont remember. And since then we missed the last 2 playoffs and have a combined losing record.
I do believe a change at DC is more urgent than a change in HC. Our Def has not been good for 4-5 years now. Regardless of what PFF or whomever says our defense was NEVER ranked #1 in the NFL this year. Its easy to pad your stats when you play Buff (OC fired 2 weeks later), Browns x2, Jags, Jets, Redskins, Cincy without AJ Green, Pitt with Big Ben 9 days removed from a meniscal cleanup and a bunch of other putrid offenses. The moment we played a decent team we got manhandled. If ya'll cant see that then you are blind.
Unfortunately nothing will happen with Harbs, Pees and company because we are still living in the past and not looking at the tendencies. This team's arrow is pointing downwards and needs a new injection of life, accountability and passion for winning. I thought this was a league of "what have you done for me LATELY?". Because I know what this team, especially Harbs with his poor clock management and overall clueless attitude, has done lately. Harbs has made way too many piss poor decisions in games and to top it off he couldn't seem prouder of his ineptitude when asked about it in post game pressers.
For these and many more reasons Harbs and Pees are no good for the Ravens moving forward.I disagree, the won the Superbowl because everyone was healthy at the end of the season, they had a New OC in Jim Caldwell and they moved Osemele to LG. Ray had a Good game against the Colts but that was it.
Everyone was healthy in the playoff loss against the Patriots 2 years ago. What is your excuse for that one? That one is solely on Dean Pees. Dean Pees played soft the entire 2nd half and we gave up two 14 point leads. And just to be clear, I am not saying Ray was the only reason for our SB win, but the team rallied around him to send him into retirement with another ring. You failed to mention Reed's contributions, pollard's, Ihedigbo's, Anquan's contributions..... None of those guys were on the team 2 months after we raised the trophy.
That loss was NOT solely on Dean Pees.
Our secondary was so banged up, we were playing with 2nd & 3rd string cornerbacks. THAT is why we blew 2 14 point leads to Tom Brady, not the DC.
I can't even imagine Harbie being here next year. There are so many more qualified coaches available. Whether it happens or not I don't know but a guy can have hope can't he?
"There are so many more qualified coaches available".
You didn't mention any ... because there is not many more qualified coaches available. And if they were "available" there's probably a good reason for it.

My only comment is that we have so many holes to fill that I can't see us drafting a DT, when that is one position that we are deep on already. Focus on O-Line, Wide Receiver, pass rushers and DB's.
