Just saying, Derrick Mason gave his endorsement of Hostler today on WNST, for what that's worth. Mason endorsed him and it's well known that he's well-liked by the players, especially Torrey. Who knows? It might be good to have a player friendly coach after control freak Cam and the not-fiery Caldwell.

I think it's difficult to determine Hostler's ability as a coach. Our OC's (Caldwell and Cameron) rarely used Doss, Reed, etc and instead relied on veterans like Boldin, Mason, and recently, Jacoby. Brown developed a lot, Doss showed promise, and Torrey is a much improved WR. Torrey has also said how much Hostler has helped him in his development. I'm not saying Hostler's good, but I don't think there's enough evidence either way.

Mike Preston quotes Bisciotti as saying, "At the end the players were a lot more pleased with him than in the first four weeks," Bisciotti said of Castillo. "I don't think that relationship is deteriorating. I actually think Juan came in under a lot of pressure, working for a guy he used to work side-by-side with in John. So, it seems the players don't hate Castillo.

Decided to give Borat another chance, and the movie's actually pretty brilliant and thought-provoking when you get past the crudeness. If you watch it for more than the cheap jokes, you see what's really being spoofed in it.

After thinking about it some more, I'm still okay with Kyle Shanahan, but I'd much rather have Kubiak. Someone posted an article written by Jason la Canfora earlier on this page and it suggested that he's not well liked by players. I don't want any more coordinators or coaches that are disliked by players. Not sure if, based on the article, that he's Raven material. He could lose control of the offense. I think Kubiak would have more control of the offense.

The Shanahan news broke pretty fast, so I was expecting to hear something about Kubiak, but you're right. We don't let much get out.

Have we officially interviewed Kubiak yet? I know he was in Baltimore recently and I know he has to be on our list, but has their been official word?

With how ugly our offenses have been, I'm cool with getting cute from time to time.

I don't like hearing that he likes to get cute or pass happy, but otherwise I'm in love with him as an OC.

For some reason I'm inclined to think the owner Dan Snyder was the issue, but okeedokee.

Norv Turner is overrated if you ask me. The only success he had as an OC were with Dallas in the 90s when he had three of the best skill position players of all time in Aikmen, Irvin, and Smith. Not to mention the fortress of a line. Since then, he hasn't had success. That may have to do with personnel but who can tell? Why don't you want Kubiak? He made Schaub look like a top five passer at times.

Did you know that only one team wins the SB every year? Just because a team doesn't win the SB doesn't mean they aren't good.

Nah, he looks pretty balanced to me. He's balanced almost to a fault.

Did you see Kubiak's "predictable" offense win three Superbowls in Denver? I didn't because I was barely born, but you might have.

I sure hope it means there's an interview planned. Where is Kubiak from? Unless he's from the area, I doubt it's coincidence that he's at Jimmy's Seafood.

Terminology is different for sure. One thing I like about the Coryell is its simple terminology. 949 F flat. That simple. West Coast tends to be a bit disorganized and annoying.
