Football is a game of endurance, especially when any play can alter the course of a game within seconds, regardless of situation. I agree that consistency is the principle goal to bettering a team/player. It is the only thing one can control is a game that is constantly challenging you in different and unique manners and situations.

It is difficult to think OJ Howard will become a raven come draft day. They already have too many as is and have paid for big for two of them. Should he be drafted I would expect them to release Watson most likely since Pitta already restructured his contract. IMHO drafting a TE in the first round should mean they can do everything asked. Not being a good blocker is trouble to me. That means he cannot be relied upon to stay on the field and that slows the pace down when having to substitute and also gives the defense a chance to sub as well and regroup.

Correy Davis at #16 would make my day. It would also be fitting saying as he played for the Stalions and Baltimore was once the Stalions.

Good move. It appears the FO has been re-aligning their current contracts to bold well moving forward. Restructure does not mean earn less per se, but it does allow for better cap space management which is always important. Removing potential log jams is always a smart move, if done ahead of time.

He reminds me as a more raw Suggs. The fact he did not start playing until high school tells me he has room to grow still ,expecially in his knowledge fo the game, position and technique. Great round 2 selection if available, maybe a round 1 trade back.

Sidney Jones will be gone by the 3rd round, one way or another. Nice thought, but utterly in vain.

As the roster stands now, I would suggest: Orr <= KC&/Levine (obvious passing downs) Guy <= Urban/Jernigan/Henry Elvis <= ZSmith They will most certainly add another LB in the draft, at some point for depth. Most likely BPA. yaddah yaddah

Stop to consider BW is typically getting double teams and creating isolated match ups for others like Guy. He was a solid player, but with the depth along defensive line they can get by and save some cap space. If anything this team is a bit overloaded at d line. Time for a few players to step up and separate themselves this year.

After Claiborne was not signed by the Ravens, he or his agent most likely realized his chances for a big pay day were going down the drain. Desperation is motivation. I would rather have the durability any day, after all, that has been the issue, secondary depth. Carr is a good upgrade for Wright. Count it a win.

I'm not knocking him, but don't say it's not about the money when less that a minute ago you talked about money not being a reason you stayed somewhere. How is being paid a fair market value, based on performance, being greedy? Greedy would be pulling a Claiborne and holding out/demanding much more than is reasonable, hoping someone will give in to your demands. Greed seeks top dollar no matter the situation. Jefferson was seeking a good situation.

we already had a 6th round pick. Nobody cares about the difference between pick 186 and 198...except for us, apparently. You would think people understand what getting first dibs on the last of the peanut butter means for the hungry man. Every pick can turn into a great addition, does not guarantee anything but it does not hurt your chances either.

TJ Watt is a bit intriguing, however from what I have seen is currently a one trick pony. He will need some time to develop more pass rush moves, bull rush is not going to work as well at the next level, without bulking up for the pro's. He is definitely in the mold of his brother but not the same cat. Just saying that because a lot of people want to assume your getting the same caliber player, which is not a fair comparison. He has every chance to be a great player, the same as JJ? Most likely not.

I would not think John Ross is a big target for the Ravens, however if they did go that route, Ross could have a big impact on stretching the field alongside the likes of Wallace and Perriman. That would definitely open up the run game some or risk getting beat deep. My guess is Flacco's arm, and more importantly knee, will be healthy enough to return to dropping those deep field strikes. A WR that can run great routes always helps any QB as well. Something some of the younger WR's are still working on, correcting certain routes.

Stop campaigning for Mangold please. If Zuttah was released due to declined play, what makes anyone think the opposite of Mangold? He is in a similar situation and also coming off injuries. When people start suggesting he should move positions that should be enough of a red flag to pursue for playing his natural position. To be fair Zuttah, was not a bad center. The real issue was as he continued to age, his strength was not up to the same level it previously had been. This translated to less push in the run game and committing more costly penalties on occasion. As far as a pass protector, he was still playing well. This, to me, comes down to the fact the Ravens want to run the ball like the good old days. Urschel has always played relatively well a C as well, with the biggest knock being about the lack of push in the run game. However when cap dollars come into play, Urschel is much cheaper and younger. He might have even bulked up enough to change some opinions. IMHO this is a smart move, even with a little uncertainty about who the starter is for certain. There is that monster C in the draft too. Just saying. Boldin makes a lot of sense, but only depending on price. Given the young core of WR they currently have, it may make sense to sign on a cheaper contract knowing he won't necessarily need to take a high number of snaps. Something I would hazard a guess could hold some water at 36. Being a 3rd down man an alternating with the other WR could be a nice fill gap option to really let the youngsters develop and save some tread life for Boldin.

Maybe he comes back. I doubt he would post a farewell if the chances of that happening were reasonable. For a smaller frame player he played much bigger than his size. Good luck on your journey Webb.

Hard to say no to "the beard". If he was only sporting a mustache, then there would be many questions. (I mustache you a few questions..)

Im not sure what of your definition of a "pure pass rusher" is but it is certainly not a title that I would use to describe John Simon. John Simon was/is very much after the mold of Jared Johnson. Can generate some pass rush, not the most versatile rusher however. Plays the run well and can occasionally cover. He thrives when pressure is spread out, when left to his own effectiveness drops. Not all pass rushers are going to man handle opponents, but also hard to justify paying big dollars for average pass rusher skills. Most the time I would opt for the young talent of similar ilk. At least you get the upside of potential in further developing a younger player.

Yes. Not sure why this article says hard working "under the radar" player. He was a key part of the defense success in stopping the run during his time here. Good for him to earn himself a contract for his efforts.

Smells like good competition brewing for snaps. Who wants to win a starting role.

I would much more prefer more passes defensed and INTs than big hits from the secondary. They will still make some noise as well.

Last year's restructure, was mostly an insurance policy and extra motivation. Especially since he earned back the difference. This year's restructure is the real one, most likely just bringing his contract into fair market value range. Don't worry Pitta, Flacco said he is paying for all your meals for the next season to make up for the team-first restructure. The only issue now, is to convince him to eat somewhere else besides McDonald's.
