  1. He could be a solid Bynes type

i like what ive seen from him so far, but i dont think he makes the roster, from what i see he doesnt add much to the coverage game, i hope he proves me wrong though, id love to have in

im still pulling for Carlos Fields though, he looks absolutely awesome

  2. I'll bet that we find a UDFA linebacker who makes it over him. If he's still here by the draft. Can McClain play special teams? Because he's not going to start.

he has a better chance of starting than an UDFA, our FO really values experience, if nothing else he will be rotated in with Arthur Brown and Daryl Smith if he makes the roster, as a former first rounder with experience he will get playing time, one year off isnt a death sentence on a career

  3. Flacco has no bearing on the subject, so I fail to see a reason to bring him up. Perhaps if you want to bring up a replacement for Tyrod Taylor, then OK. I don't care if you bash him. Really doesn't bother me. Let's just not do it in this topic. I'm not attacking or disrespecting you. Not sure why you feel that way. I don't appreciate your accusations either. I didn't even use your name. I just read Flacco and saw he was being used in this topic and I'd really like to avoid getting this topic locked.

Edit: just looked at your post and I definitely wasn't talking to you. I'm not sure why you got offended by my comment as if I was talking to you. I just saw the post that made me make my post and it wasn't yours.

he's a troll, just ignore him, your response just makes him stronger, he feeds on negativity

  4. ill restate this We drafted a STRONG SAFETY, i wont be surprised and neither should anyone else if we Draft a FREE SAFETY in the first round only FS expected to go in round one is HA HA

We would be dumb to draft a late round safety, thats where our current safeties came from and obviously we dont have enough faith in them for any of them to start.

so again first round - FREE SAFETY

its not news to anyone that Elam is a natural SS

there is a slim chance that Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will make it to our pick, there are so many teams that need safeties that pick before we do - Cowboys, Steelers, and Rams to name a few

i dont think any of our safeties were late round safeties, Elam was a first rounder and the rest were UDFAs, nobody is advocating that we wait to draft one late, but drafting one in the first doesnt necessarily mean they will succeed either, its such a weak safety class and an even weaker FS class

  5. We already are. I bet they make it prime time, MNF. It's in Baltimore.

WE ALREADY ARE?!?!?! CONSPIRACY, THIS WAS PLANNED

i hope we take OBJ or Lee, they are both a lot like Smith and could learn alot from him, even Landry would be about the same kind of player just not as fast

  6. keenan allen was available to us at various times in last years draft and we passed him up. he was robbed of OROTY by eddie lacy. its a myth that all WR's arent going to produce as rookies unless theyre 6'5" vertical monsters. if you can run a full route tree, you will be able to most likely produce as a rookie, theres plenty of them in this draft, marqise lee, jordan matthews, brandin cooks, allen robinson, and they will all be available to us

keenan allen only fell because of injury concerns, had he not gotten injured he would have been easily top 15 pick

where did i say you had to be 6'5" and run great routes to produce right away? the two examples i gave were just off the top of my head, i picked them because they were picked high not because of their stature or route running. Sure many receivers in this draft have the ability to give production right away, that doesnt mean they are ready to start right away, its better to use rookies sparingly and let them get used to the NFL before throwing them in as a starter. How many receivers come into the NFL and give starter production in year 1? maybe 3/100 receivers that come into the NFL each year

  7. I am sort of with you. Not super excited about the possibility of signing Smith for a few reasons. Mainly because he's nearly 35 and even if he does have something left, it is as you say a stop gap.

whats wrong with a stop gap? the most seasoned vet in our WR corps is JJ, we need a good mature vet to teach the guys we have and whoever we draft presumably in the first or second round. Most rookies arent ready to start anyway unless they are AJ Green or Calvin Johnson caliber, and usually those guys are gone by the time we pick. Guys like Lee and Beckham are very similar to Smith, so his knowledge could be super valuable to them.

  8. Just answer the question, if you are indeed capable of comprehending it.

the GIF was his answer, obviously you arent capable of comprehending that - in other words your question is ignorant and lacked logic - just blindly picking the BPA regardless of need is how you end up like the lions or the jets, tons of talent but they arent going anywhere. Just because you are picking BPA that fits a need doesnt mean you are reaching for anyone, evaluations are completely subjective

  9. Here is the scenario, the Ravens have signed Steve Smith, they are on the clock, the only team need is at free safety, Clinton Dix is off the board, and the highest rated player on their board in Mike Evans, do you take Mike Evans or Calvin Pryor who has a late first round grade on their board?

we all know that Ozzy will stick to his board no matter what, that being said, Evans wont be rated higher than Clinton-Dix

  10. i cant see ozzie drafting beckham. He has a distain for anything LSU. I dont think hes ever drafted a guy from there..

well that doesnt really mean much, im sure there are 100 schools he has never taken anyone from

if the player is good enough then it shouldnt matter where they went to school

  11. It's arguable that Steve Smith would get in the way of a young WR getting more playing time. Assuming we sign him, we'd have Torrey, Steve, Marlon, and Jacoby. It's difficult to see how a rookie cracks that lineup outside of splitting with Marlon Brown maybe.

well it would depend on what our FO would rather have: a veteran leader presence on the team (which we dont have, Jacoby is our most seasoned vet) to teach all of our receivers, it would be especially useful if we take a guy like Lee or Beckham who are similar to Smith. or would they rather throw the rookie in to get in game experience right away, learn on the fly. I'd rather bring in Smith to teach everyone of our receivers including Marlon and Torrey

  12. Q is making 6 mil per in SF.

Q isnt 35 and doesnt rely on his speed like smith does, thats his greatest asset and as he gets older he can no longer rely on pure speed to get open, he's only got a year or two left, Q can last another 4 or 5 if he takes care of himself

  13. Smith was cut due to issues with the new GM.  Not because he can't play ball.

nobody doubts he can still play, but he isnt playing at $7 mil per year quality, he was just because of the GM and because he was making too much, more than the panthers were willing to pay for a guy in his last year or two

  14. Carolina is supposedly offering Nicks 4.5 per year, I bet we get Smith for 7 mil per, but on the upside we still get a fifth round comp pick since Art Jones left.

if Smith costs $7 mil per year then i'll pass, nobody will pay him that much at 35, he may still have years left in him, but his best years are behind him,
