  1. Great. A handful of teams looking like crap was so successful the NFL is going to make every team look like crap this year. #footballnotfashion
  2. Drafting Tunsil would be the dumbest idea since Kyle Boller. We don't need to replace an injury prone LT with an injury prone LT.
  3. What the heck? is wrong with Perriman? He has no idea. All he knows is that his instant gratification was not satisfied.
  4. Later that afternoon Monroe was placed on injury reserve after sneezing too hard.
  5. Erm, that quote is Harbaugh responding to Monroe making statements about the league's drug policy. Not a response to Biscotti.
  6. What a ridiculous bunch of nonsense. OMG! The Browns did something that won't effect their draft strategy at all, so that means that certain players dropping down the board is much more likely! Oh, it's also ridiculous to think that one team signing a QB creates an imminent pressure on the Ravens to ignore their biggest weakness, namely the OL on the blind side.
  7. Harbaugh tends to be pretty bad when it comes to challenges. I say, give everyone unlimited challenges, except Harbs can never challenge.
  8. That we snagged him away from signing with the Steelers makes this all the more sweet.
  9. Why do people say nonsense like this? You likle Wright so much, yet you want to add two more players in front of him and relegate him to special teams. Stop lusting after all-star teams. We're not going to draft Ramsey. We do not need Ramsey. It would be a huge waste to blow a #6 overall draft pick on someone to fill a second fiddle role.
  10. I don't really think re-signing KO is priority #1. Maybe #2. Reason being that Ozzie looks to get the most bang for his total resources availble. When you consider the possibility of drafting Ronnie Stanley at #6, KO is not as efficient of a way to spend money. Ravens need a starting LT, and DEPTH at CB. Re-signing KO gives them a the starting LT, but turns their attention in the draft probably to the CB position where the "best" way to use that #6 spot ends up being overkill for ADDING DEPTH. And it would be an absolute waste to use that pick on a WR. Of course, one alternative if KO is re-signed might be to use that #6 pick to trade back a big and grab an extra total pick, and pick up someone late in the 1st round that nobody would ever predict us going for. That would be an Ozzie thing to do.
  11. You make good points but again, Flacco's contract didn't force the Ravens hand in any way pertaining to who they had to let walk. Since Joe was signed.... Ray and Birk retiring had nothing to do with Joe. The Ravens weren't gonna give Ed Reed the dollars or couple year commitment he was looking for. They weren't gonna resign Oher while guys like Torrey, Elerbe, Mcphee, Kruger and Art Jones all priced themselves out of Baltimore. BTW none of those guys are living up to contracts signed. The only guy the Ravens probably regret is Boldin but just like Webb, Suggs, Yanda and Ngata the Ravens had a certain value on him and his cap number exceed it. Ngata and Boldin didn't like it and were shipped out. All those contracts would have carried big Cap hits in the years where Flacco's hit was small, so it's my belief that Joe's deal, back loaded or otherwise, had not impact on the decision to sign or allow any of those players walk. Now on the other hand you have Rice and Pitta taking up much needed cap room but not contributing to the team at all. There is no way of knowing this but I strongly feel if both Rice and Pitta were members of this team it'd be much better and that Win-Loss column would reflect it. The Ravens had minimal cap space over the past 3 years not because of Flacco's big up front bonus and back loaded contact. It's because of other contracts that ended badly. Flacco's deal was great all around for both player and team. Imo. Who do you think the Ravens couldn't sign because of Flacco? >>>Now on the other hand you have Rice and Pitta taking up much needed cap room but not contributing to the team at all. Pitta's been in IR for the past two years, so he hasn't counted toward the salary cap. The cap penalties associated with Rice I believe are clear as of this year, thank goodness. I agree that we would have been a slightly better football team with Pitta. But it would have been a drop in the bucket ultimately, when you look at the root problems we've faced. Too many players landing on the IR, struggles to rebuild the O-line, etc.
  12. New deal is expected to save the team in cap space the next three years. And then we're right back where we started. Sky high cap hit with a long term lock in contract for a QB who isn't worth that kind of commitment.
  13. Man, these articles talk like there is any doubt where the Ravens primary need is at #6 on the list. The only real question should be is whether Stanley will still be available. That is the only thing that should affect the draft decision.
  14. o_0 So what exactly does "calling Linta's bluff" entail? Remember when you were a kid, and when you were misbehaving in the car your parents would say "Stop it right now or I'll turn this car around"? That's a bluff. Continuing to act up in the back seat was your way of calling your parents' bluff. Ozzie is the one who is bluffing, and Linta is calling it. Unless you are suggesting that the Ravens are prepared and willing to cut Flacco, then the best Ozzie can muster is "If you don't settle down right now I'll drive this car to the ice cream shop."
  15. Actually, that's what Flacco's agent did three years ago. He's not asking for anything now. The team is the side doing the asking. Linta is simply ignoring them.
  16. Stanley. We need Stanley.
  17. Granted, I usually pay no attention to the Pro Bowl. But since when was there a "draft"?
  18. Low rushing attempts resulted in low rushing yards per game? *GASP!* Some of these "analysts" really baffle with their utter inability to comprehend cause and effect relationships. Yes, the Ravens need to "fix" their run game. Meaning, they need to use it! Yet again the Ravens obsess over the passing game, and yet again this obsession fails to yield results, and yet again everyone is utterly shocked, and yet again everyone seems to blame all the wrong people for the failures. Yes, "fix" the run game. Stop acting like Flacco is the team and bother yourselves to actually employ a run game. What the Ravens need to fix is their mentality.
  19. Let's just be glad he's not discount double-checking.
  20. Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner. Meanwhile, people are also saying that a player like Rice isn't that important. Irony....
  21. You know, that little graphic kinda plays right into the "Joe Fluke" argument. Just sayin.
  22. Let's see, Torrey Smith is no longer on the team because his production was so good we couldn't afford to re-sign him. Jimmy Smith is still with the team and has emerged as one of the top CBs in the league. Upshaw has been a solid contributor during his time with the team. This past year was bad for him. But that's true for everyone on the Ravens. Every. Single. Person. Arthur Brown has performed well when on the field, he just hasn't been given the opportunity to be there much because we have so much depth at MLB. KO has performed very well and we might be unable to afford to re-sign him because his performance will fetch a big price tag. So that leaves Elam and Kindle, who have been generally busts, it's true. Two out of six ain't good. Meanwhile, you've failed to mention a whole lot of other high round picks the Ravens have made who performed phenomenally and either stayed with the team for many years, or left after being bought out at too high a price for us to afford. Let's not forget Ray Lewis, Jonathan Ogden, Ed Reed, Peter Boulware, Jamie Sharper, Duane Starks, Jamal Lewis, Todd Heap, Terrell Suggs, Halogti Ngata, Ben Grubbs, Joe Flacco, Ray Rice, Michael Oher, Paul Kruger, and CJ Mosley.
  23. I think the Ravens organization needs to figure out how to keep their personnel healthy. Two straight years with nearly two dozen people on IR. There's an institutional problem going on.
  24. the only thing you didn't list was to do the Macarena. This guy is supposed to be come kind of expert? This reminds me of those stupid facebook memes floating around that say "This is the the 'I get grumpy when I get less than 4 hours of sleep' club," and then lists 10 of the 12 horoscope signs. And everyone jumps in and says "Oh my god it's totally right, I'm a leo and I definitely need more sleep than that or I get super grumpy!"
