  1. My biggest takeaway from this game besides the W was that it was a growing experience for the young guys and Joe touched on that in his post game interview. Whether it's Will Davis, Za'Darius, KLM, Waller, Boyle, Maxx, Buck Allen, ect. it felt like they all did some "growing up" tonight. These are the types of games that build character for not just young players but also this year's team as a whole

Even if we aren't competing for a SB this year I'm glad to see our young guys get better, even if this season doesn't end up amounting to what we had hoped the future is bright for this team. I won't count us out just yet though, this is a game that can turn the tides of an entire season.

Great post. This could help us reverse our season and make a playoff bid, but even if not, the young guys are indeed getting better. If we can't make it this year, next year could end up looking really bright still.

  2. he had nearly 30 carries

My point is they put the ball in Flacco's hands too often in the second half. For instance - that one drive we had with a little over two minutes, where he threw 4 times with nothing? That was dumb; we still had timeouts and they didn't run it once.

EDIT: ALSO the fake field goal attempt was really dumb. We weren't even in the fourth quarter and it would have been a 3-point game if they took the points.

  3. Final thoughts: I think Campanaro can help us out a lot in this game; Joe should be throwing to him and Steve Smith Sr. most often. I hope Forsett will have a good night, but my guess is once again it's the passing game that gets us on the board. The secondary won't have as big of a challenge with Vick as QB instead of Roethlisberger, but they'll still probably have their struggles. Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell worry me the most; if the defense manages to contain Bell, though, our chances of winning are pretty good. I would expect a turnover or two from Vick, and hopefully none from Flacco this time. I think it'll be a close one, but I'll pick the Ravens to win it 31-24. Turnovers decide the game in the end...

  4. I'll remain cautiously optimistic going into the game. Our team had better come out swinging, because this is desperation time. The defense has to be playing better, and the offense can't afford to let up at all. Even without Roethlisberger, I don't think this will be an easy game. I did predict that we'll win, but it probably will be closer than we want. The important thing is that we do win and build confidence from there.

  5. Dude tore them to shreds the last five years, oh yeah he is a steeler killer, as evidenced by the playoff game

He didn't exactly tear them to shreds in the 2012 and 2013 seasons; the only really good game he had in those two years was the Thanksgiving one. Also he was far from stellar in the divisional playoff game back in 2011; you did say the last five years. He played really well in the last playoff game, and he does play pretty well against them usually.

  6. That game is one of my favorite memories in this awesome rivalry; not only did they march into Pittsburgh to steal the win at the end, but also they managed to sweep them for just the second time in Ravens history. Steeler "killer" might be a bit far, but Flacco does generally play well against them. I really believe we can win on Thursday, but Flacco better not be the only player doing his part.

  7. It's not technically over, but it's extremely unlikely we'll make the playoffs. I'm sticking with my 6-10 prediction I made a few days ago; it pains me to say it, but I guess we're due for a bad year. 2013 I don't consider "bad", just mediocre. The worst part is just how we could definitely be 3-0, but we blew it in the final moments of every single game. No matter how much we lose I'll still be a fan, but it does hurt a lot to be 0-3.

  8. I'm still not expecting the game to be that easy, considering our bad secondary. But I do think we'll win because of Pittsburgh's suspect D. It could still go either way, but I'm more confident about this one than the first three games. I think we can all agree though the Bengals will win the division easily now.

  9. Micheal Vick looked good in the preseason and I wouldnt count out any QB against our secondary.

And if Andy Dalton can scramble for TDs and First downs you best believe Micheal Vick can do it.

Sam Bradford looked good in the preseason too. I really think preseason means next to nothing.
