To clear up things. The Saints brought bats to the field in 2009 as motivation, nobody said anything. Panthers used the bat as a symbol for "bringing the wood". Second, OBJ got the star treatment and he's let the Madden cover and the fame get to his head. Notice how the Giants are doing anything to deflect blame to Carolina, finding anyway to justify what OBJ did and save face.

    3. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

Saints didn't threaten players with their bats, to be clear. Panthers as a team are egotistical, showboating morons. I hope they lose their first playoff game. In fact, I hope it is a beatdown like the Colts got last season.

    4. January J

      January J

And obj isn't showboating before every single game when he puts on a show making all of those 1 handed catches and trick stuff.

  2. Vikings shopping C. Patterson, If we could get him for a mid to late round pick that would be awesome. Then draft Strong in the first round or Marcus Peters and I'll be one happy guy

thats what im saying, a player going into his 3rd year and he is struggling with just fundamentals this badly, i dont know if he can be saved. its almost like its a learning disability there. some players just cant make the adjustment to the pro's

    3. TDubbs

      TDubbs

@xxDarby What is crazy though is he only played 1 year at Tennessee, and smashed records. He may be more raw, but could the upside be higher/equal to Torrey? I don't think that Vikings offense was conducive to WR growth, he'd certainly have a shot to develop better here.

    4. xxDarby

      xxDarby

TDubbs he would have a good chance to develope here, but I just personally think he's too far gone. Maybe he dominated college because he run faster, jump higher, and out muscle others, but in the NFL athleticism is only good with technique. I just think his technique is so bad that he is unsavable

  3. honestly, I think Terrence Brooks will make a big leap forward and be our starting FS by next year opposite Will Hill

Monroe was a caualty and I hope he's the only one. First day and he breaks his leg. Wish him good luck

      757RavensFan

I like Brooks' potential but unfortunately, he's gonna be on the PUP for the 1st 6 games. Barring injury, it will probably be hard for him to unseat Lewis.

Sorry for the confusion everyone, I meat by the end of his 3rd year. Not next year.

  4. Now chris simms says polamalu is better than E. Reed? What is wrong with these people

      DefensiveMind

If you look at records held, pro bowls, interceptions, TDs, passes defended, All pro, Reed holds the advantage in everything. All polamalu has is sacks, tackles and FF. We are talking safeties not linebackers.

    3. Wildabeast88

      Wildabeast88

And Chris Simms sucked so his opinion means nothing to me. The real question is ow many times did Ed pick him off

    4. berad

      berad

Ridiculous part is that Simms never even played the Steelers - not that he played that much, anyways. The one game where he played the Ravens, the 2006 opener, he threw three picks and a healthy 30.5 QB rating... one pick to - that's right - Edward Reed. The others were to Haloti (his first game) and CMac. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200609100tam.htm

  5. I hate that most people are already giving up on Elam. I think he still has potential to be a stud once he learns more and gets comfortable. It reminds me of when people labeled Jimmy a bust and now hes one of the top corners in the league! Support our young guys!

    2. TDubbs

      TDubbs

I agree. Just like Jimmy, Elam doesn't lack the physical ability (aside from height) .. it's all about the mental game with Elam.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

they forced alot on elams plate, any rookie would struggle with what hes had to do in his first 2 years, its only gonna make him better in the long run, if will hill is the rill dill, and our cb's step it up, then elam will finally be able to just play his game instead of overthinking everything and trying to be everywhere to help a busted secondary

Don't jinx Just say he will have time to throw the winning TD

    3. polynesian15

      polynesian15

Also, he'll have to average 260 yards a game the remaining 15 games if he wants to reach that 4k yard marker.

Get your game face on Joe, there's no time like the present.

    4. poescrows

      poescrows

I don't do fantasy football, but I say Joe's in the top 5 QBs this week.....monster comeback!

  7. At onne time he was a stud, and to no fault of his own he got taken out by injuries. But Webb is done. He probably couldn't cover his mouth when he sneezes

    2. sflegend89

      sflegend89

I agree that Webb has been a huge disappointment since his big contract but I think at a certain point you have to accept that corners get beat. There are only a handful of "shutdowns" and the rest of them will have their ups and downs, some more than others.

    3. HomeoftheBRAVENS

      HomeoftheBRAVENS

@sflegend89 What bothers me is how uncontested completions against him are.He doesn't even have the confidence to actually contest passes anymore. When a QB throws at him it's not really a case of if the WR will complete the pass,it's how much yac will he get.

    4. polynesian15

      polynesian15

He was close to picking of Vick this Thursday if I remember correctly. Broke on a route pretty nicely, but his play in general leaves a lot to be desired these days.

  8. So sick of hearing doug baldwin try to argue that he is anything other than average. The guy has 15 TDs in 4 seasons and never once passed 850 yards. He is trying to be like Sherman, playing with a "chip" on his shoulder. The difference is Sherman can back up his talk.

      DefensiveMind

If any of you think doug baldwin is a number one caliber receiver or in the top crop of receivers in the league like he believes...then you may need to visit a doctor

    3. KDUBB44

      KDUBB44

I dont believe that Baldwin is a top wr. But who are u to tell him to not think otherwise. What should he do? Let the critics say he is a garbage wr?

    4. DefensiveMind

      DefensiveMind

The critics dont say he is garbage, they say he is average...which he is. Nothing wrong with keeping quiet and playing your role instead of grasping for headlines.

  9. Almost every talking head and expert I've seen has rated the Ravens draft as an A. Yet somehow 85% of our fans think it sucked?

I wanted to make an account just to lose it, but the ignorance was so bad that it would be pointless. It's amazing to think that they can't just stop for a second and welcome these players to Ravens Nation. They're now one of us (sorta) and I'm sure we wouldn't appreciate it if that was anyone's response to us.

    3. DefensiveMind

      DefensiveMind

Exactly, these young guys are now a part of the team and should be welcomed and at least given an opportunity before people of their own fan base bash them. I'm sure though if these guys turn into pro bowlers or solid contributors, they will be the first to buy their jerseys. Much like Lardarius Webb a few years back.

    4. ravensdfan

      ravensdfan

Bashing the players and bashing the draft itself are two different things. The players could all be great - but if we don't stop ignoring offense and simply throwing hand me down vets & developmental players at it don't expect it to improve.

  10. Well, on the plus side, we still have a great young MLB and DT haha

I'm a bit upset with the play of Timmy J

    4. Dorota

      Dorota

He's had a couple good plays in the last game. I expect(ed) more of him, but he's not bad. He'll get there. Brandon Williams is a monster though! Even with all the injuries all year, I've never heard anyone rant about letting Ngata go. Williams is the reason why.

  11. Sit webbs a** on the bench, start Melvin, sit aiken on the bench, play terrence brooks in the secondary, give joe the keys to the offense, use a double tight end set

Offense wasn't a problem in this game (33 pts) - sure it could use a little tweak here and there but it's only week 2.

But, how in the name of everything that's holy do you allow the Raiders to score 37 pts!?

      @ DEN: ZERO O, fantastic D.

      @ OAK: ZERO D, very good O.

What's going on with this team?

    3. Stephenjr

      Stephenjr

We need to fire Pees and hire a young up and coming DC ,that these guys will play there hearts out for. Pees personallity is dull and the D seems to take on his personallity .

      polynesian15

  12. Whoever we draft, I will try my best to welcome them with open arms. But if the name's either Ebron, Lewan, Beckham, Pryor, Lee, or Barr...Ill be ecstatic.

  15. At this point in time, we might as well position ourselves for a high draft pick. With the injuries and our defensive coordinator, even if we did get on a run we would get killed in the playoffs

    2. polynesian15

      polynesian15

Yeah, I'm thinking between week 4-8. Depends on when he's cleared for field work. You have to ease him back in, considering the severity of the injury and how long they've held him out thus far.

Can't wait for him to play!

  17. Get rid of pees and his prevent defense

  20. Flacco is awful now. Sure he hasnt had the best protection but his mechanics have been terrible. Throwing off his back foot, falling over without being touched, overthrowing people when he does have time....sad

and JO, easily in the discussion of best LT of all time, if he isnt the best then hes definitely top 3

  22. Im officially off the draft a RB bandwagon and now on he keep forsett, draft secondary players bandwagon

    1. Inqui

      Inqui

I'm still on the RB bandwagon. Next year's class is fantastic, and last night I saw Forsett being awesome (albeit against one of the worst defences in the league), Bernard Pierce doing a whole load of nothing, and I believe LT not seeing a snap.

  23. Looking at our remaining schedule I only see a potential 3-4 more wins if that. Bring on the draft
