We've made a pretty big splash in free agency this year - what would we do with extra cap space at this point? Who's on the market that we would want to throw money / long-term deals at?

All the splashes were defense... OK so we are set at O line with the loss of Wagner?  Our O line was weak as heck last season already.

Except the reason for that is that for the first 3 years of his post super bowl contract his cap hits were 6M 14M and 14M.  The numbers that were being put off are finally owe for now which is why his actual salary this year is only 6M.

Ignoring that,  every option in FA at RT suffers from not being very good so your idea is flawed in multiple levels

My idea is flawed on multiple levels? His salary base is 6mil not inclueding his bonuses. So his total cap hit is $24.5mil for 2017. Look it up before you accuse people of flaws. I personally think the OT in this years draft is not strong at all. There's a lot more options that could be had if there was more $ available with the salary cap. We could make a trade, wait till cuts are made. There's obviously a lot more options if we had more money to play with rather then sit in this situation. Better qb's are getting paid less. Bottom line we need to get this running game up and running. We need to protect flacco.  $ is the problem right now if you take a look at the salary cap. No sense paying flacco big $ if he's on his back in the game or IR right? Now give me my neg. lol

Probably not the person most are going to comment on, but I just don't see it with Kyle Fuller.  Think he's actually a lesser Urschel.  He's not athletic at all.  He's not strong.  His footwork is poor.  The size is nice but he'd be a serious project for anyone that takes him on.

Yeah I was reading on something about Fuller having a bad day at the senior bowl drills. I'd want someone more nfl ready or just go with Urshel. IMO

Heck, why did they even need to draft Maxx in the second?? They got Jesse James much later in the draft and he has outperformed and helped them much more than Maxx has come anywhere close to for us.

That's just how the cookie crumbles some times. Maxx is still young and has a lot more time to get with it and be good for us. I remember thinking we got the better deal with Zadarious smith in the 4th and they took bud Dupree in the 1st. Smith out played Dupree in his 1st year. Don't get me wrong my expectations is high on maxx, but I guess we'll just have to wait.

  5. I'm thinking we wouldn't move up because there's a bit of talent in this draft and someone with good value will slide to us. Also we only got 7 picks this year and with the holes we got,  we'd need it if not more. I'm hoping and wishing 1 or 2 guys fall to us at 16 though. It could happen if there's a run for qb's or cb's

Pretty much ideal. I'm not jujus biggest fan but I think he's got a chance to be solid, he could be a Mohammed Sanu type of guy but he could also end up like jaelen strong, he's got great hands and tenacity and runs like a truck, and his routes are solid but I think he's topped out and won't progress much, he's got some stiffness in his hips that will limit his ability to be an elite route runner, but he DOES get just enough separation to do what he does well, which is position his body to snatch the ball out of the air and give the db a hell of a fight to reach the ball. Elflein obviously addresses a huge need and is probably a day one starter, him going that late though is questionable.

All in all I'd be ecstatic with this draft

I sort of feel the same way about JuJu. I just think he could be that guy that fans complain about in a year or 2 because we never picked him in the 2nd when he was available like Keenan Allen. Lol. I have a hunch that he could be better then people give him credit for. To be his size with those hands and always find the soft spots in coverage and find a way to get open... He could be the next American Express, but I don't think he'll be as bad as jalen strong. Imo

  7. Round 1

    Tennessee DE Derek Barnett

I know lots of our mocks pick this guy. This guy plays like a Raven and I really like this beast. Do I need to say more?? You got to love his motor! Not to mention his record breaking stats.

    Round 2

    USC WR JuJu smith-Shuster

Some might say that this might be a reach. But think about it.... after Mike Williams, Corry Davis, and John Ross go in the 1st round there's only Cooper Kupp who's stock keeps rising and maybe Chris Godwin that might go before JuJu in the 2nd round. So here we got a 6-1 215lb possession receiver that constantly gets compared to Anquan Boldin. I think he's a more explosive then Boldin. JuJu possibly could be Flaccos next best friend like Boldin and Pitta used to be.

    Round 3

    Ohio state C/OG Pat Eflien

Im not sure why he keeps sliding down a lot of big boards, but some say he could be the he could be like a smaller Travis Fredrick that is a former 1st round Center. Maybe the next Cody whitehair that went in the 2nd round last year. However I think he'd be a good anchor for our O line. He's tough and was a great leader in the locker room for Ohio state according to his teammates. We need competitors with that team mentality and nastiness for our run game.

    Round 3 comp pick

    Colorado CB Ahkelo Witherspoon

Here we get a 6-3 195lb big atlhletic CB that's a little raw but has a lot of tools and production in college. 24 passes defended, 4.45 40 time and a 40.5 vertical is pretty impressive. He has fluid hips and quick feet and has been flying under the radar with this super deep CB class. He'd be a good compliment to Jimmy Smith in a year or 2. He could battle it out with the guys we have now.

    Round 4

    Western Michigan OT Taylor Moton

Moton could be a steal here in the 4th round. He's big and thick with long arms and has bruiser mentality in the run game. He moves people in the run game. His athleticism at tackle might be a bit of a question. Scouts say he did a lot better at gaurd. Maybe with our staff and coaches coaching he could eventually battle with Alex Lewis, or who ever else might step up to the plate for right tackle. I think he'd be a good quality mid round pick.

    Round 5

    LSU ILB Kendell Beckwith

Kendell was the leading tackler but is sliding due to his injury. He's big, fast and pretty explosive. Scouts compare him to bernardrick McKinney. It might be a little too hopefull for him to slide this far, but we never know. Most have him projected to the 4th round, but he'd be a steal if he can stay healthy and be had in the 5th round.

    Round 6

    Pittsburgh RB James Connor

Connor is a big versatile RB that averaged 5.1 yards a carry. He's also useful in the passing game. I think he could battle with our stable of mediocre RB's and also could be a FB being that we lost juice in FA. I think Connor with time learning more blocking could be similar to juice at a lower cost.

Man I would be disappointed if we get Ross and say Corey Davis is still on the board.

We always do a good job shutting down AB, but AJ green always kills us. Not saying they're comparable, but I would rather see us take the bigger outside WR

I always wonder who seems to be more like AJ green.... Corey Davis? Or Mike Williams?

Bucky Brooks latest Mock is crazy.

Has us taking Ross which I hate as a pick for us. Don't need another speed receiver especially one with injury concerns. And I can't see him being our BPA with Tim Williams, Humphrey, Wilson, Harris, etc... on the board.

But he has Tredavious White to the Saints as the 2nd CB. That's not too crazy I guess.

    Then Tabor to the Eagles.

Then Chidobe Awuzie at 15 to the Colts?!?!

I mean he's got serious ball skills... but I haven't seen anyone Mock him until mid/late 2nd and as the 8th CB highest.

Bruh I'm with you 100%....if we take John Ross I'm turning my TV off.

  11. Well guys.... with doom gone I'm pretty sure we'll finally get a pass rusher in the 1st or 2nd round. Like a lot of people I'm hoping its Barnett in the 1st. I wonder who's penciled in dooms spot for now?? My guess is Matt Judon. Maybe Zadarious Smith might unleash the beast this year? Lots of questions....
