  1. I liked Brown in preseason, but, what good is he to this pathetic offense? Another tight end is the answer to their inability to move the ball? Seriously? What about a game plan that involves throwing the ball down field instead of behind the line of scrimmage? What about some roll outs for Joe and misdirection plays to take the heat off of him? As long as Jensen and Hurst are starting, Joe is going to take a beating unless Trestman wakes the hell up. They are both terrible.
  2. The Ravens game plan of dump off passes sucks. Where is all this speed we read endless articles about? How can we not throw the ball past the first down marker on third down. Time and time again the Ravens throw short of the first down and come up short. You would think by now, after 8 games, in would have sunk in. Just a dumb game plan. Oh, and put Perriman out there, let him drop a few more passes, then start making excuses. It worked with Elam for a few years. Why not Perriman? Some number one draft picks. Both of them stink.
  3. Forsett, the consummate pro. That says it all. In the world of today's whiners and egomaniacs, Forsett is a refreshing breath of air. Why the Ravens blamed him for the terrible state of their running game is a mystery to me. The Ravens haven't had a big bruising back since Jamal Lewis. If you expect these guys to be able to run without the benefit of blocking, you are going to be disappointed. Give them some room and they will flourish, but this offensive line has not done that. I wish Forsett the best. He will land somewhere and he deserves better than what he got here.
  4. I am so sick and tired of these lame excuses. Now, they have some things "to figure out". What the heck does that mean? It would have had more meaning if the comments were "the defense completely disintegrated in the last quarter" and "the offense failed to do the job on the last series of downs". Stay tuned for the next lame excuse after this week's game against the Redskins.
  5. Duh, really? Hurst stinks and Jensen is no better. I saw them both get beat countless times against Oakland. Stop making excuses for them and get some better people. Did you ever notice that the Patriots don't give a good crap about who the wide receivers or running backs are, but they sure pay attention to who is doing the blocking for Brady. That is why they are successful and we are not. All this baloney about wide receivers means nothing if your quarterback gets pummeled. Wake up Ravens and go for some guys who can protect Joe, not ball droppers like Perriman.
  6. I said it when they drafted this guy. He was a ball dropper for a middle of the road school in college so what in the heck did they see in him? He is to the offense what Elam is to the defense, both wasted first round picks. Whomever scouted these guys and recommended drafting them should be fired for incompetence.
  7. This whole article is nothing but crap. After all this time, money spent and high draft picks made to create a potent offense, we still have none. All this baloney talk about how fast our wide receivers are and how we will be going deep, we have seen absolutely none of that. The majority of passes thrown are either at or behind the line of scrimmage. It is infuriating that on third down, the Ravens always throw short of the first down marker. What the heck good is that? Take notice of what Pittsburgh did to K.C. We are no better than the Chiefs. We had better wake the heck up and win the next 3, because after the break, we get the top teams and man it will be ugly.
  8. You gotta like Terrence West. He runs hard and gives you 100% on each play. He did his job. Sadly, a lot of other guys didn't. Dropped passes, passes thrown either in the dirt or to the defenders, underthrown, pass protection problems, and a defense that reverted back to last year when it gave up long gains on third down. That last series from the Raiders was ridiculous. They went through the Ravens like a knife through butter. How many passes did they complete past our safeties? At least four. Ugly, but we still could have won if not for that awful last series by the offense.
  9. I am not a Harbaugh fan. I think that he is the worst clock manager in the NFL, constantly blowing time outs early instead of having them when he needs them at the end of the game. However, in this instance, I am with him. If the defense hadn't reverted to its former last year's self, allowing long completions on third down, no one would be questioning his decision to accept the penalty. It was a good call.
  10. The last series is a microcosm of what is wrong with this offense. First another dropped pass, then a short arm throw in the dirt at a wide open receiver by Flacco, and finally a beautiful pass, threading the needle to Aiken, but he gets hit hard and can't hold on. This game was anyone's to win or lose. I actually think Harbaugh made the right choices both times, the attempted 2 point conversion that Flacco once again failed to throw over the defender, and the acceptance of the penalty instead of giving Oakland a field goal. The defense reverted back to last year when they gave up passes to receivers who got behind their safties. Once Weddle went out and Kendrick Lewis came in, we were finished. Oh and that Perriman drops another ball on the first pass thrown his way. Yeah, a real asset this one.
  11. "Talented offense"? Seriously? Who is that? I guess if you score one touchdown a game, against mediocre to bad teams, you have a "talented offense". What a joke. A truly talented offense is one like New England has, where, despite the loss of their starting quarterback, they have won all their games. You want talent, now that is talent.
  12. My friend, I am not a doctor, but I believe you may be expierencing a case of the Mondays. Being that it is Saturday, a day when catching a case of the Mondays is exceedingly rare, I suggest you notify your doctor immediately. I suggest if you have nothing factually constructive to say, you don't say anything. Even if you disagree with me, I will listen to your side, but all you have done is disparage me personally instead of having the courage to speak about the issues I have raised.
  13. No one can say the Ravens defense isn't better than last year. The addition of a real leader, Eric Weddle, has done wonders. However, no one will confuse then with the Ravens 2000 defense. They still have coverage troubles. Jimmy Smith is like Flacco on offense, one play great, the next one a stinker. Bottom line is that to keep winning, the offense needs to get in the game. I am tired of all the passes behind the line of scrimmage and passes on third down of 3 yards when we need 6 for a first. All we read about is how fast their receivers are and how much of a deep threat they are. Talk is cheap. Also troublesome is their inability consistently to make one yard on third and one. The line has got to start giving the running backs some room to run and Joe time to pass. They have done neither yet.
  14. O come on. They are not "so good". They are improved, but they have played against lousy quarterbacks and bad teams. Give them props for bailing out the gawd awful offense, but to say they are "so good" is ridiculous at this point. Wait until they play against a real quarterback. Then, if they get the job done, we can give them the "so good" tag.
  15. If Stanley doesn't play, Trestman had better wake up and have Joe rolling out of the pocket or using misdirections so that he doesn't get killed. Hurst is mediocre. The outcome of this game will depend on whether this offense finally starts to put some points on the board. One TD will not be enough.
  16. Sorry I can't count either. 4 losses to 6, not 5 to 7.
  17. Steve Smith is right. Last year, we lost to these kinds of teams. If there is any playoff hope, we MUST beat them because from where I am sitting, I don't see us beating Pittsburgh, New England, or Philadelphia. That is 5 losses right there. Cincinnati is no slouch either, so it may be 7. If our offense was doing anything, we would be competitive. So far, they have done nothing. Can't run, can't block, can't throw down field, can't make 1 yard on third down. The list goes on. Without our one true Pro All Pro, Justin Tucker, we would not have won these games. Yeah, we are 3-0, but the big boys are coming soon. Perriman stinks. He is to our offense what Elam is to our defense. Both wasted number one picks.
  18. I was shocked when the Ravens signed Eric Weddle, shocked and pleasantly surprised. After all, when Ray and Ed left, there was a serious lack of on field leadership on defense. Blah, blah, blah, about Suggs and Mosley being the leader. Just baloney. Neither of them is the kind of leader Ray and Ed were. Now Weddle, he is the real deal. Leads by example. Gets fired up. Makes plays. Mosley is better for having him there. Excellent addition.
  19. How can anyone be satisfied with this horrible offense. All we read from the pundits before the season began was offense this and offense that. Perriman, Perriman, Perriman. I knew then and I know now that is was all baloney. Perriman stinks. He is another wasted draft pick, dropping passes like flies, just like he did in college. He is the offensive version of Elam, another first round bust. The Ravens may or may not win all or part of the next 4 games before the week off, but once they come back, it is bad news for this lackluster offensive team. Why can't Joe throw the ball past the line of scrimmage when we need a first down? Oh yeah 21 completions in a row. What they don't tell you is that most of them were either at or behind the line of scrimmage.
  20. Chalk this one up to another blunder by the great Oz. Instead of signing Osemele, the Ravens so called brain trust signed Eugene Monroe to a big deal even though he was the worst lineman on the Ravens offensive line. If they hadn't wasted money on him, Osemele would still be here. Injuries were a problem, but, man, when he played, he was a brute. We sure are missing that this year.
  21. Mosley is doing a fine job, as is the rest of the defense. We have beaten three bad teams with 4 more pretty mediocre ones coming before the big test against the Steelers. The offense better get their act together during the next 4 weeks. We could easily be 7-0 or 3-4 by then. The defense and Tucker cannot beat the Steelers unless the offense gets moving. Enough of these dump off passes and runs into the middle. We have seen that for three weeks now and it doesn't work. If the first three weeks competition hadn't been so bad, we would be 0-3.
  22. I have seen absolutely NO improvement since the Buffalo game. The line still can't run block or give Joe time to throw. When he does have time, he still short arms passes, underthrowing receivers, throwing off his back foot like he is shooting a fade away jumper. An honest assessment would be that Trestman's offense doesn't work. Throwing the ball three yards behind the line of scrimmage on third and three is ridiculous. Where is all this offense that the Ravens media crowed about before the season? Perriman stinks. He is the same ball dropper now that he was in college. Another wasted number one pick, just like Elam.
  23. With little or no offense, we are really lucky to be 3-0, even against these sad teams. Give the defense and especially our one true All Pro, Justin Tucker, credit for these victories. While the defense is not perfect, it is head and shoulders over the offense, which has done virtually nothing. Oh, and those 21 successive pass completions, what baloney. 15 of them weren't past the line of scrimmage. Instead of throwing down field to pick up a first down, all we see are dump offs short of it. Ridiculous.
  24. At least this year the Ravens have managed to beat the lowly Bills, Jaguars, and Browns. That is something they failed to do last year. But the good news stops there. They will not beat the Bengals, Steelers, Patriots, or Eagles with this offense. While the defense has played respectably, the offense stinks. If anyone thinks we can beat the better teams with field goals, they are sadly mistaken. We have a couple more weeks for the offense to show up, so, while there is hope, it is fading fast. Oh, by the way, Perriman stinks. What a waste of a first round pick. He drops more balls than he catches, just like he did in college. What the heck were the Ravens thinking?
  25. How can anyone with a brain bigger than a turnip blame Forsett? The offensive line is doing nothing to open holes or even give the RB room to make it to the line of scrimmage before someone is on his back. We have seen this same crap for three games now and nothing changes. Get the blocking working and Forsett will be just fine.
