  1. I am so sick of this media whining about "snubs". We had 4 players chosen. What do you want, a Pro Bowl team of all Ravens? I am sure other teams feel there were guys that could have been chosen but weren't as well and have the same kind of stats to prove their case. Grow up and get over it.
  2. The Ravens were lucky when the Eagles went for 2. If they had tied the game, the Ravens would have lost in overtime. The defense was abominable, letting the Eagles march the ball down the field on consecutive possessions. Even their run defense stunk it up. Gaping holes allowed Eagles runners first downs on runs up the middle. If Flacco makes the same kind of errors against the Steelers that he did against the Eagles the Ravens will be done before half time. His stupid fumble and even worse interception gave the Eagles 14 points, well 13 points. I don't know who is dumber, Flacco or Harbaugh.
  3. I have never been a Harbaugh fan. This is the perfect example of why. He is a moron and his quarterback isn't much above him on the intelligence ladder either. Two boneheads couldn't figure out that it was just plain stupid to throw the ball in that situation. They had the game in the bag. A field goal puts it out of reach. Yet, people here are still defending both of them. Good grief.
  4. O come on. Weddle taking the blame yet guess who is on the field, Matt Elam, the guy who can't cover anyone. Why is this guy still on the team? I know why. The Ravens don't want to admit that they blew another first round draft pick, so they will keep this bozo on the roster until his rookie contract expires, then say they can't afford to resign him. He will be out of the NFL once his Baltimore tenure is done.
  5. This play is a microcosm of the difference between Belichick and Harbaugh. Belichick simply outsmarted him on the blocked field goal. It was almost as if the Patriot knew when Cox would snap the ball and the guy timed it perfectly. So predictable. It didn't bother Tucker though. He hit long ones after that. He is the best of the best.
  6. We knew it was a stretch to expect the Ravens to beat the Patriots so it wasn't a surprise that they didn't. Now, they MUST run the table to make the playoffs. Although the offense sputtered and misfired, the defense allowed 30 points. When you give up that many, chances are you are not going to win. Once again, the Ravens get bit by a long pass. Why can't they cover anyone deep? Time and again, teams connect on those 7 point bombs. Their "game plan" with 3 minutes to go really sucked. They acted like they were up by 10 instead of down by 10. Just awful.
  7. You can talk all you want about injuries and blah blah blah. It doesn't mean anything if the Ravens offense can't control the game. The key, and ONLY key to beating the Patriots lies in keeping Tom Brady on the bench. If Flacco pulls his usual three and out routine like he did all too often in the first 11 games, the Ravens are done. He needs to play at the level he played at against Miami. No chuck and dink passes, throw the damn thing down field. On third down, throw past the first down marker, not three or more yards shy of it. That will win the game and perhaps salvage the Ravens season.
  8. This is perhaps the most important game of the season. After Pittsburgh took care of Buffalo, the Ravens find themselves a game back. Losing to the Patriots would mean that they would have to run the table, beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh, in order to make the playoffs. Losing to the hapless Jets, and almost equally bad Redskins has cost the Ravens any cushion. Now, it is put up or shut up time. No lame excuses.
  9. Of course they can beat the Patriots, BUT, to do so, Flacco will have to be like he was last week instead of how he was the previous 11 weeks. It all starts with him and his performance dictates the results. If he stinks up the place with his check down passes and three and outs, the Ravens will be eaten alive. To beat the Patriots, you MUST keep Tom Brady off the field. I is as simple as that.
  10. Disrupting Brady may be necessary, but, without scoring points we have no chance. You cannot shut down Tom Brady. What you can do is keep the ball away from him as much as possible. To do that, the Ravens have to play offense like they did last week, not like they did the previous 11 weeks.
  11. I would "like their position" had they beaten the lowly Jets, and the Redskins. That way we would have some breathing room. Since the Ravens tanked those games, they find themselves having to win 3 of the last 4. A loss to both the Steelers and Patriots would spell disaster. The Ravens MUST beat one of them. Depending on which Flacco shows up, the Ravens could either win them all or lose them all.
  12. There is no question the Ravens defense is better than last year. However, where has the offense been? If Sunday was an indicator of what they are capable of, then why did it take so long to get it right? Instead of chuck down 2-5 yard passes, Joe was throwing down field. Instead of throwing short on third down, he threw beyond the marker. Notice also that he hit people in stride, the first time he has done that all season. Before, passes were behind them, short, over their heads, or in the ground in front of them. I can see what he is capable of. I just don't understand why he hasn't done it.
  13. It looks more and more like the Ravens made the correct call in taking Stanley over Tunsil. In this head to head match, Tunsil committed multiple fouls and looked like crap. Stanley played his best game. Lets hope this is a sign of things to come for him. The Ravens really need him to stay healthy.
  14. While I have often blasted several Ravens, I have always had a soft spot for Lardarius. He is a good guy, who, through no fault of his own (injuries), is no longer the player he was. I am glad to see him have a good game at safety. We sure need one. That interception was unbelievable. How he held onto the ball after that collision was amazing. Wish him well for the rest of the season and beyond.
  15. I have been very vocal in criticizing Flacco and the abysmal offense this whole season. Well, today they finally listened. Joe was near perfect. His throws were on target, leading the receivers instead of throwing behind them, in the dirt, or over their heads. Also, he stopped throwing 2 to 5 yard passes and threw down field. And what a difference. We have been screaming for this type of offense all year. Why did it take the Ravens 11 games to do it? I actually have hope that we can beat the Patriots next week. If Joe shows up like he did today, good things can happen. Kudos to the entire team for a great effort and performance.
  16. Tired of hearing this same old song from Flacco. More aggressive? Really? How about being "more aggressive" by scoring more than once a game? How about throwing past the first down marker on third down instead of 3 yards short of it? For all the time and money spent on this meager offense, the defense has done a good job. Perriman, Mr. One Catch a Game first round pick? Geez.
  17. Juden is already head and shoulders above another wasted Ravens high draft pick, Upshaw. At least they let him go. Juden and Young have been great positives on defense while the $20 mil quarterback continues to play like crap. If not for Tucker, the absolute best on the team, we would already be looking at next year. Good to see Suggs do well and Dumervil make an important play.
  18. More Perriman crap. He drops as many as he catches. No surprise to me, but apparently the Ravens brain trust thinks this makes him worthy of a number one pick even though 31 other teams didn't think so. This is exactly why the Ravens are where they are, wasting high draft picks on mediocre talent or in the case of Elam, no talent. He made a great catch Sunday, but then he disappears. What the heck kind of number one pick is that?
  19. Yeah, they won't face anything that they haven't seen....AND LOST. With only5 games left, why does Flacco have to "raise his game"? He isn't some rookie. His game should have been raised all along. It has not and that is why the Ravens are where they are. He was mostly ineffective last week too if you discount the first series. Scoring one TD a game is not "raising one's game".
  20. Tucker is the best player on our team, bar none. We would be nowhere without him. Still waiting for Flacco to get his head out of his behind and play more than one good series. The ineptitude of the offense starts with him. Three and outs in the fourth quarter are unacceptable. Why in the world do we always throw short of the marker on third down? It is just plain stupid and drives me insane. Good to see Dumervil make a play and Suggs get in the backfield. All too often Andy Dalton had way too much time still. Young is a star in the making at corner. He plays tough, close, not like most of the Ravens who play 10 yards or more off of the receiver. Perriman makes one catch a game then disappears. Great catch though.
  21. I don't consider Weddle a loser. He is a guy who takes his job seriously and owns up to mistakes when he makes them. He doesn't hide, sulk, or blame others, which everyone seems to accept in today's world of it is everyone else's fault but mine. A refreshing change but his play speaks for itself. If he thinks one play makes him a "loser", he should have seen the real losers playing the position before him.
  22. The Ravens definitely would not have won if Tucker wasn't playing. Doesn't anyone remember WHY we have lost 5 previous meetings to Cincy? I sure do. It is because Flacco plays his worst football against them. He single handedly gave the Bengals both games last year, yet, even when he was playing so poorly, Harbaugh wouldn't take him out. He didn't do squat this game either. If you eliminate the first drive, he did absolutely nothing that any mediocre quarterback couldn't do.
  23. The NFL needs to stop this garbage. Rewarding a team for intentionally committing penalties is ridiculous. They should also stop this poor sportsmanship crap where coaches call time outs at the time the field goal kicker is kicking. It is just asinine that the NFL doesn't address these issues.
  24. It is time to stop praising this $20 mil mediocre quarterback who can't do squat after the first series of play. If it wasn't for Tucker, not "Unelite Joe", the Ravens would have lost. It is disgusting that this awful offense can only score once a game and goes three and out constantly in the fourth quarter. How anyone can say this offense is "improved" is beyond me. Ok, they had less penalties. Is that something to brag about? There SHOULD BE less penalties. Tavon Young is a great corner in the making. He plays tough close defense, not 10 yards off the receivers like most of the Ravens do. A good win in a must win situation, but hardly something to brag about.
  25. It is time to stop paying guys like Jimmy Smith and Dumervil big money. They are out more often than they play. Besides injuries take their toll. Nowhere is there more evidence of that than with Lardarius Webb. He was a great corner, until injuries to both legs made him ineffective to the point where he couldn't play the position any more. Pitta looks awful. He can't block or won't block worth crap, and didn't catch anything. This whole team, with the exception of a few, needs to be gone, but, for it to mean anything, the ones responsible for putting it together need to go as well.
