  1. As much as I love Pitta, he should retire. Turning this into another never ending Brian Roberts injury watch is distracting and gets tiresome. He needs to get his priorities straight. Being able to walk is much more important than football. No one touched him when he went down last year. How can the team think that he will be ok now?
  2. While not all of his lack of development was his fault (Harbaugh wouldn't play him in games that were decided), he showed nothing all the years the Ravens carried him. Actually, he got worse instead of better. They should have cut him two years ago.
  3. An awful lot of its here. While we can be optimistic, we have to be realistic as well. "IF" these guys are healed, "IF" they can contribute at an NFL level, "IF" our two gimpy corners are injury free and can play more than 2 games without going down, "THEN" we have something special. Otherwise it will get ugly real fast.
  4. Let's get something straight. The Ravens DID NOT let Ngata go because of last year's suspension. To even suggest that is ridiculous. He was gone strictly and ONLY because of the contract.
  5. The Ravens do love to pick linebackers. Some are great, some average, some not so great. Arthur Brown is the not so great. Upshaw, who is average, will be gone next year, so Smith will get his shot. What he does with it is up to him.
  6. Upshaw will be gone next year, period. He has not lived up to his billing, so if the Ravens didn't keep Kruger or McPhee, they certainly are not opening the vault for Upshaw. He just isn't worth it. Keeping Yanda and Tucker are a hell of a lot more important that paying Upshaw.
  7. I admire Pitta and wish him well, but, come on, the guy has had two major hip injuries. He is lucky to still be walking. If he suffers anothere one, he may not. He should take that into consideration before setting foot on the field again. After seeing him go down a second time, when no one touched him, I don't believe a word that the doctor's are saying. He needs to go on IR and spend a lot of time rehabbing and thinking about the risk.
  8. The offense better improve. The Ravens did virtually nothing to address their most glaring defensive weakness, the secondary. Depending on Smith and Webb to play a full season is a real long shot. Arrington is not in their league. Melvin did well when thrown to the dogs, but Brady destroyed him. Banking your season on two lame corners doesn't exactly give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. And don't get me started on Elam. He flat out stinks.
  9. Elam comeback? Comeback from what? He has done nothing to come back from. Since being a number one pick, he has played like crap in either safety position. For a guy who the media touted as fast, he can't even cover the tight end. Receivers blew by him like he was standing still. Oh, wait, he was. The Ravens don't admit it, but the fact that they are still signing safeties says volumes about Elam. He out and out stinks.
  10. Levine to safety? Now this speaks volumes. Even though the Ravens won't own up to it, Elam was a big mistake. He is a hole in the defense wherever he plays. Tired of the lame excuses being made for him. This year should be his last chance. He has done nothing since being drafted a #1. Whomever thought this guy was worthy of a first round pick should be fired.
  11. Niether of these guys got much of a chance here. We really don't know what they are capable of. Sometimes it is a numbers game. When the Ravens signed Schaub, Wenning was gone. When the Ravens drafted two tight ends, Supernaw was gone. Wish them both the best.
  12. No ond can doubt that Lardarius is a class act. Not only with his charible endeavors, but with his unselfish actions to lowering his salary for the good of the team. When was the last time you saw one of these egomaniacs do that? He is a great example to us all of what a human being should be. Rooting for him to finally stay healthy this year. He deserves a break.
  13. I don't envy the coaches job of making decisions on these guys so early in the game. Just because a guy wasn't drafted or drafted late doesn't mean that he can't play and won't turn into the next pro bowler for someone. Good luck to them all.
  14. It is a huge gamble. When both your starting corners have injury issues, the odds are stacked against them making it trough the season. While Kendrick is an improvement over Stewart, we still have Elam, who has shown nothing. Terrence Brooks is the unknown. This amounts to a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of hope for the year.
  15. Here goes that word again "potential". I really hope this guy works out, but given the Ravens awful history of drafting WRs, and his penchant for pass dropping, it is a huge risk. Besides, we didn't lose to the Patriots by not having a WR. We lost because our secondary stinks. Then we see the available players, and lo and behold, the Ravens don't take the CB that they need. Dallas took him with the next pick. Two picks later the best S on the board is gone. Sorry to disagree but I think we missed the boat again.
  16. OMG! Just a ridiculous pick. This guy dropped a bunch of passes. I don't get why the Ravens are so enamored with the WR position that they take these kinds of guys. There was a bonafide CB taken next by Dallas and a bonafide S taken two picks later. Either would have helped the Ravens a lot more than this guy. How many more are they gonna blow before stopping this nonsense? Good Grief!
  17. Here is our center of the future. He did a terrific job when filling in at guard last year. He was a steal in the draft.
  18. It is good to see him doing well. Last year he was bad. No sense in sugar coating it or pretending it didn't happen. His game was definitely off. However, he has made a remarkable turnaround this year. Whatever he did to get back is working. Now, if only we had an offense that could score consistently and a defensive backfield. Oh well, I can dream can't I?
