Who is that you're talking to? I couldn't quite hear you tag him loud enough
52 minutes ago, BmoreBird22 said:@regz1997 The obvious issue with McDonald is that he's so damn inconsistent. At any given point in time, he can play extremely well, but he's just shown too often that he'll disappear and play really poorly. I think losing McLeod could hurt him more than help him, but we'll see.
However, in your team, being the third safety will be a great role for him because it'll simplify his role and really just let him play.
Thank you! I certainly hope so...

Figured I'd take TJ McDonald here. We'll really get a chance to see if he's a star in LA with the departure of McLeod. I like the value here, and in my mind he's the worth the gamble here. A suspension seems unlikely due to the fact that apparently the DUI arrest was while he was under the influence of medication rather than alcohol.
On my team, McDonald could play the role of LB/SS hybrid that's becoming ever popular in the NFL. He can lay the wood while also holding his own in coverage.
I also finished out my secondary with a 3rd corner in Dontae Johnson. Expectations were pretty low for the 9ers unit coming into last season but he was a very solid player in that group and they more than held their own. My defense is much better than the current 9ers unit, and he has better veterans around him to learn from. He gives me a young twin tower to pair on the perimeter with Darius Slay, and I think I'll put the experienced Orlando Scandrick in the slot to cover the shifty guys like TY Hilton in my division.
My starting secondary looks like:
CB: Darius Slay, Orlando Scandrick, Dontae Johnson
FS: Eric Weddle
SS: Calvin Pryor, TJ McDonald
With the 674th pick, Team Ramrod selects:

T.J. McDonald, SS/LB
With the 671st pick in the 2016 DaF, Team Ramrod selects:

Dontae Johnson, CB

Can we take teams that have owners that have dropped out? I was unable to draft my team, so it was autodrafted for me. If I found a team I liked would I be able to switch? I'm only asking to see if I even have that capability/option in the system or if you'd allow it...

I have set my keepers. After everyone sets their keepers we are able to draft, right?

Good pick of McCarthy. Same pic I used as well haha. I wasn't aware of the no-picking-coordinators-until-extended-rounds-rule, so I tried to choose him as my OC earlier. I think in a perfect world that's his ideal role on a team. He's an offensive genius whose mind gets clouded with the responsibility of being a head coach. Plus he calls all the offensive plays himself for his team anyway, so if anything it would make him better at his job.

@regz1997 has changed his pick to OT Mike Remmers. And upon seeing that he has to play Von Miller twice a year, he has announced his retirement.
Hahahaha well played...Yes, I believe this seemingly mindless pick deserves a little explanation on my part.
I know he has to play Miller twice a year, but quite frankly that may be in his best interest. He says he learned quite a bit in the Super Bowl against him, and I think he's using it as motivation to get better. Playing him twice a year forces Remmers to learn to stop Miller, or get destroyed. The benefit of being division opponents is the familiarity that comes with matching up against one guy multiple times a year. This cancels out the reason he failed so bad in the Super Bowl: facing off against the most dynamic edge rusher as a starter for the first time in his career on the worlds biggest stage. How many other quality tackles would have been reduced to a non-factor if put in that situation?
In my opinion, his future is much brighter than several other guys taken ahead of him. His run-blocking was solid all year. His pass blocking has to improve, yes. But he's in a good situation with an elite motivating coach, and he has solid pass-blocking interior guys beside him in Maurkice Pouncey and Brandon Brooks.
Overall, I'd say he's the best available guy at his position, and I think getting his butt handed to him on a silver platter by Vonn Miller in the Super Bowl will help propel him to a brighter future.
Perhaps in the future we should consider drafting coordinators as well. If a player is willing to invest several picks to fill out a top notch staff, I think they should have the ability to do that.

I see. I'm sorry I was not aware of this... It'll be fixed soon.
With the 610th pick, Team Ramrod selects:

Mike Remmers, RT
12 minutes ago, Italian Raven said:That would be one crazy competitive division.. not sure any actual NFL div has 3 coaches who are that good.
Honestly the AFC North probably has the most talented coaches in the NFL today, and they are the closest to matching this IMO. Tomlin and Harbaugh are elite, but if you combine the two other guys you might get close to Division 1's talent.
With the 607th pick, Team Ramrod selects,

Mike Tomlin, Head Coach
(Philip Rivers approves)

But the LT position has been worn thinner than I anticipated with several members selecting LT prospects to play at other positions. I was high on Humphries as a prospect and it's encouraging that they allowed Massie to walk in FA while naming Humphries as their starting RT. He's also responded well to the acquisition of Evan Mathis, who's taken Humphries under his wing. It's a serious question mark, but as far as potential goes, I didn't see many better available alternatives.
Precisely my logic there. Great pick... Personally I think he'd be best at RT. He was my target at the end of this round. Sad to see this one get away.
Also I hoped Ron Rivera would keep falling to my second pick this go round, given Tru11 didn't select him. Very good pick Ludy. If you're running a 4-3 defense he's your man.
14 minutes ago, Mt. Crushmore said:That and Belichick pulled an 11-5 season with a certain backup QB that turned out to not be so good. I think 2-2 is a decent aiming point without your starting QB.
Yep, plus the NE system has proven to be TE friendly and best run with good TEs. Haha, sorry about that.
On the first point, you also have a solid run blocking unit up front and can just let Jamaal Charles run wild. That definitely helps whoever you have at backup QB, and it takes some pressure off that guy.
On the second point, you're totally right and no worries man! All's fair in love and war. This game could fit into either category, depending on the day lol.
22 minutes ago, Mt. Crushmore said:Thanks. Hopefully he can get back to his rookie season performance this year. I think he forms a nice combo with Martellus Bennett.
Agreed. Less pressure on him to be "the man" too....and it helps to add some youth to the position with Bennett getting up there. It's funny though, that each time I decided on targeting a specific TE with my next pick, you took them both haha. First Bennett and then Dwayne Allen...
15 minutes ago, Mt. Crushmore said:Sorry about that. Allen was my backup option to Paradis when I took him. Only went Aiken last round because of how I felt about who was left at each position and who I thought could get back to me.
I'm fine with 3 left on the board
There is 1 HC that I'm very surprised to see available.
@NFLfan123 is up (cc: @LosT_in_TranSlatioN)
Yeah I passed on Dwayne Allen last round because I thought/hoped he'd fall. Good pick. Dude seemingly can't stay healthy anymore but if he can string together a full season he'll be very formidable.
25 minutes ago, ravensdan said:We should keep in mind also Smith hasn't had a history of injuries keeping him out of games, just two major ones. The first one he came back with a vengeance. Also I believe Rice and Tim Brown were similar age with the Raiders and had renaissance seasons.
This is a very good point. It's almost as though he comes back stronger and more durable.
With the 546th pick, Team Ramrod selects:

Rey Maualuga, ILB
With the 543rd pick, Team Ramrod selects:
OG Ronald Leary

RT: Bulaga = Schraeder (push, both elite)
Bulaga is good, but I would give Schraeder the edge in this one due to the appropriateness of his skill set in his division. His pass blocking talent is perfectly suited in a division with quite possibly the two best left edge pass rushers in Vonn Miller and Justin Houston.
