If you had taken them, Flacco would have retired, Harbaugh would have quit, and we would have traded away CJ Mosley for a 7th rounder in real life.

Come to think of it, some of our fans would love all three moves

Some people on these boards take the term "knee-jerk" to a whole new level.

NaVorro Bowman tops the list if he plays the same after the injury. Joe Staley's a solid LT. Their CBs aren't bad, and Carlos Hyde is a good starter when healthy. That being said, I agree that it's certainly an uphill climb and that the roster needs quite a bit of work. Kudos to @ludy51 for taking on the challenge. It's a good thing to see.

    This. This exactly.

If Hyde can stay healthy, I believe Shanahan could do wonders with him.  He's a good coordination despite getting away from the run too much.  Its definitely a tough challenge and will be following @ludy51 throughout the process.  Good luck.

I'm in agreement. Looking forward to seeing what he does with one of the most historic franchises in the NFL.

I don't think his hands are the biggest concern for me. Plenty of great receivers like Mike Evans, Brandon Marshall, and Demaryius Thomas have hands problems of their own and that hasn't stop them from being great at what they do. I think hands are a thing he has to improve on but its not whats going to restrict him from being great.

His hands are so inconsistent though. Some games he has perfect hands, and others he looks horrible.

What do you think is the biggest specific issue with his game?

I agree with gtalk he has made big plays... There should've been two other touchdowns if he got his feet down would've been more points. He catches the hard ones and then drops some of the easy ones.... It is concentration drops which will likely just need to be worked out by more playing time.

Good point. I just remember seeing some that would be a difficult catch in coverage but he wouldn't bring it in.

He seemed to have the same problem you guys are referring to in college as well.

Yep look at the division and the Ravens have had the worst receiver core for awhile. Bengals have AJ Green and Steelers have Antonio Brown... Both are top 5 if not top 3 receivers in the game behind Julio. Even the Browns have some of the young talent at WR that has shown promise. They have Josh Gordon (when he isn't suspended), Terrell Pryor (unless he doesn't resign), and even Corey Coleman a promising rookie. The Ravens have had to use aging veterans to fill that role and while I don't want to take anything away from Mason, Boldin, or Smith Sr., but they are not playing at the level of AJ Green or Antonio Brown at the point in their career. Hopefully Perriman pans out. The few times he touched the ball he was electric and put some fire into the offense. This is without two full offseasons and he still got 500 yards and a few touchdowns in a #3 role. I am hoping he continues to improve.

I'm rooting for Perriman too, but I'm not holding my breath. At best, I could see him being a good receiver. What holds him back from being a great receiver is his hands. Great receivers catch big passes even though being covered well. His route running also needs to improve, but that can improve with age.

One of the rare times where both teams are probably happy with their choice.  Ryan may be playing at a high level right now, but Flacco was better during the early portions of their careers.

Flacco also hasn't played for the last 5 years with a receiver who has made a case for himself as the best in the league. Take Julio away from the Falcons and that receiving corps closely mirrors what Joe has played with year in and year out.

It'll be in here.  Assuming I'm around when @Inqui posts it for us, I'll retype it out and tag everyone.

Alright thanks. I have a question about players that were resigned by their team counted against the cap on spotrac. I hate to name drop, but a good example of this is Jamie Collins. His contract is shown in spotrac as official for 2017. Is he a free agent in our league? Or is he apart of the Cleveland browns franchise?

How does this rule apply to other franchises with their FAs? Is it a rule where if an impending free agent player is resigned in real life prior to the team being selected, the player is on your team in this game?
