Sorry, late to reply to this, but no, his play on the field isn't perfect. Has any prospect ever (Luck excluded) ever been perfect? I mean, come on; that's silly.
You know who had major fumble issues early? Adrian Peterson. Who's the best running back of our generation outside of LT? Peterson.
I don't know if he's exactly what the Ravens need because he's not the best back between the tackles, but he's got exciting ability on the perimeter and with the ball in his hands. He's a play waiting to happen every time he touches it.

I mean Clemmings was even worse than Kalil when he was in there sure(man was he bad) but Kalil was bad too. There is a reason the Vikings went out and spent a ton of money at OT this season and it isn't because their line was mediocre when healthy.
I would have ranked them is largely mediocre before injury. I don't think they were good by any stretch, but they weren't 2013 Ravens bad until the injuries and that really sunk the ship.

Still pissed about the Terrence Cody pick. And the Williams deal. And the increasing reliance on Pierce.
I actually liked the Williams deal because the defense kinda faltered when he wasn't playing up to par late in the season. You could see the front seven kinda runs through him early.
I also would like to see him one gap more. I think he's got some disruptive ability. Not so much the ability to get sacks, but at least flush a quarterback.

He did injure his ankle, but I don't know the severity.
3 minutes ago, Ravens4Real said:Why put a young player on the shelf all season if he's not hurt? Especially if he had any chance to play or help the team out?
It boils down to the coaching staff knowing he wasn't even in the plans to help the team out.
Didn't you say he had an ankle injury?
Just now, Ravens4Real said:Well let me know when Carl Davis does that. Because he hasn't. He was actually put on the IR because the coaching stash wanted to stash him away because he wasn't ready.
I never said he would be great, but let's not write a player off after one season.
And if his injury was going to be six, seven, eight weeks (I have no idea what the diagnosis was), then he's occupying a roster spot for that time. He can't go on the PUP or any place where he wasn't on the roster. Roster spots are valuable. Why let him occupy a spot if he's out for a while and would take time to get back into football shape?

The above is my initial post in regards to posters saying I didn't know he was on the IR. Where exactly does it say that I was talking about last year? Or are we just going to rush to judgment because a couple posters are upset?
When in actuality, exactly what I said is what happened in 2015 to him. I guess I just couldn't have forgotten to type 2015? Yeah, you fools are right. My bad.
Because no player has ever had a really poor rookie season only to play well the next >.>

There's this thing called a roster spot. They tend to be valuable.
And if a guy gets injured later, he cannot be on the PUP and must occupy a roster spot for the time he is injured.
That sounds like an excellent move.

Try a big B

He gave the pick a B and said he didn't watch Davis and only read about him.
1 hour ago, Ravens4Real said:I don't want to hear anyone mention Jernigan as inconsistent and then try to say Carl Davis can replace him. It's just stupid. Davis is worse than Jernigan at disappearing. He managed to do it for the whole year outside of the preseason and a game or two early.
That's what happens when you go on IR...
I don't like the idea of giving him away because he was the only interior pressure the Ravens had, but four picks in the top 75? I can dig that.

He's generally very solid because he evaluates his mistakes and understands where he erred to improve the next year.

Also doesn't mean they were bad

The offensive line was relatively healthy for the games he played in.
Mike Williams is visiting or has visited the Browns (12), Eagles (14), Ravens (16), and Titans (18).
This, to me, suggests very much that Williams may end up a Raven.
Hasaan Reddick recently said he views himself as a 3-4 OLB first and that's his comfort zone.
He could definitely be a bigger possibility at 16.
2 minutes ago, ravensnation5220 said:With his plethora of off the feild issues. I have a hard time thinking he will be high on our board
The Ravens will meet and determine if he's worth it.
On talent alone, he could be top 10, but I bet he goes much later because of off the field.
Wouldn't be too thrilled to see another running back, but he's electric any time he touches the ball.
2 hours ago, rmw10 said:@BmoreBird22 back on the VT train? I'm shocked.
If Rodgers had been there, he'd have been my pick.
At least Evans has some arm talent to work with if you can iron out the inaccuracies.
1 hour ago, rossihunter2 said:oh i agree 100% on hoddges - i could see him developing into the number 1 tight end out of this class
I've seen his range anywhere from 45 to 75, so I'm not sure what to make of where he'll go, but he's got me excited for once about this draft for VT with Rodgers (he's a real sleeper; everything Juice was for the Ravens) and Ford.
Hodges has the best routes of the tight ends and freakish size to go along with some speed to beat you down the seam. And he'll kill the red zone.
I felt bad for him because he dealt with Loeffler for two years and then Fuente came in and his offense, while amazing for Ford, was more east-west than you'd like for Hodges and having Evans just put him in too many bad positions on passes being all over. He's going to be a better pro than college player.
3 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I agree about njoku but I'm not seeing that contested catch issue with engram, he does well when covered and climbs the ladder and attacks the ball well, he needs to box out better though, he just doesn't shield the defender off very well.
My thing about engram is that he's a good route runner and can be elite there, he's built like a slightly smaller TE but has the ability to run the full route tree like an elite wr, and is a rare kind of guy who not only runs great routes, but has the hands and power to make tight catches, while having the explosion to turn routine catches into big plays. I guess the same could be said for njoku but I'm just partial to engram. I think he's more of a wr than TE and I think he would be a perfect replacement for pitta while also adding a possession wr
That's what I meant as far as not making contested catches. He won't box out and let's a defender work back through him. Use your size to your advantage.
I saw his comp as David Reed and that to me is entirely fair. He can be a seam nightmare with his speed.
2 hours ago, JoeyFlex5 said:Really? I thought you were a big engram fan like me, must have you mixed up lol. What do you like better about njoku?
Probably the best leaper in the draft, very willing blocker, has the same seam busting ability, but seems to just be growing into his potential. Engram is going to be limited to just a move tight end and doesn't fight for those contested catches as well as he should.
I bet Njoku goes in the first and Engram in the second.
I'm actually a huge Bucky Hodges fan.
With the third pick in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, The Jacksonville Jaguars select...
Jerrod Evans, QB, VT
Just now, Inqui said:You're right (and I probably mentioned 1.9ypa during the Seahawks visit) so I'm not sure why I'm remembering it as 2.7. But the point is there's a reason he's unsigned so far.
Well, apparently (according to an NFL.com headline) it's because he doesn't actually want to sign with a team, not that teams aren't interested. Of course, he could be holding out for a big time gig and no one wants to give it to him.

Yanda was pretty injured and having McKinney for half the season was about as bad as having Clemmings. Yanda wasn't 2014 Yanda by any stretch. Definite down year for him.
