  1. I definitely think Ravens should draft a QB early at least have him learn from Flacco so that he won't make Flacco's mistakes lol

The thing is, you all are just assuming that Joe and the Ravens WILL get the deal done and you're assuming that if a deal isn't done, the Ravens WANT to stomach those cap hits. Assumptions can be very dangerous.

And anyway, let's not sit here and act like drafting a quarterback high and letting them sit is unheard of. The Vikings wanted to do it with Ponder, the Jaguars wanted to do it with Bortles, Rivers, Rodgers, etc.

He also had Cameron and was a rookie taking over that team, much like Flacco.

All I'm saying is taking the best quarterback prospect since Luck isn't a bad idea if they can't work anything out.

And I am on record for saying my wish list players are Bosa, Hargreaves, Doctson, Treadwell, and Boyd

With Brees, he wasn't playing well, but then he managed to go to a Pro Bowl and won CPOY. He was then franchised and the year after, he was offered a five year deal, even with his shoulder.

There is nothing wrong with planning for the future if Flacco doesn't get something done with his deal

How would it be a wasted pick? Say the FO didn't get a new deal done with Flacco.

With how high they're picking, they'd have a plan in place. And let's not forget quarterbacks like Rodgers, Rivers, and Tyrod, who are all doing well, got to sit and learn for at least two years before starting.

  6. YAYYYY! Now Pees won't get fired and we're killing our prime draft position, great win -_-

Which should speak volumes about the inconsistent execution of the players than to Pees. When Doom, Jernigan, and Davis aren't generating a good pass rush against that line, there's trouble.

  7. Drafting Tray Walker and Z'Darius Smith over Stefon Diggs who we had the privilege of scouting extensively in our own backyard *claps* well done front office

Those health issues were overblown because they were unrelated injuries and one was a fluke (a lacerated spleen...?) I think more teams had issues with his size and ability to play more than the slot. Still, that'd be nice to have in Baltimore right now...

Right, went in the fifth. Just thought he should have gone fourth

He was a player I wanted really badly and I was really upset when he went in the fourth.

  10. So we appear to have a recurring trend. Every even numbered draft we take an Bama guy early. Who shall it be this year?

  11. Well check out Za'Darius Smith! Kid's got speed and good hands!

    1. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

He can't set the edge to save his life, but he has excellent hand usage to keep blockers hands off his chest.

  12. Ok.... Looking at our schedule, we could very well end up picking inside the top 10 in the 2016 draft. After that brutal stretch, we aren't making it to the playoffs nor having a winning record. Not being negative, just stating facts.

People act like the Ravens didn't just start two games on the west coast. The goal is to split on the road, go undefeated at home. That goal becomes tougher now, but I'd be more worried if they didn't win their first game at home.

I like how these facts, which are only become official in January and February, are being made in September.

  14. Some interesting names are already hitting the market. DT Louis Nix was released by the Texans, never really got a shot but was dominant at ND. I always thought Da'Quan Bowers would be better standing up in a 3-4 instead of the 4-3. Who else?

He was traded to the Colts for a sixth round pick

Bowers would almost assuredly be a 3-4 DE. I can't say I watched enough of the Bucs to know why he failed, though.

  18. Trindon Holliday has been cut.DOes anyone else think he would look good in purple and black returning punts and kicks?

  19. Tim Jennings was cut. Worth a look?

    1. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

The Cowboys are a team that even offers him a very good shot at starting and Lovie runs a good bit of zone with Verner there. I'd imagine the Cowboys would be a high team on his list because they'll be competing for a title

Yes, and not too long after I figured out the last digit of Pi. I'm having it published and sent to Ozzie, John, and Steve right now.

Definitely not the best scheme fit, but at this point, you're talking about a very competent corner who got flat out cut. You don't even need to trade for him.

Yeah, last year wasn't kind, but he isn't that far removed from two back to back pro bowls and a 13 interception span from 2012-2013
