  1. I think he ran a quick strike offense similar to the west coast offense, so I don't know if Myers would be too small
  2. The big day was supposed to be today. Do we believe this is still the case?
  3. I never got people who said that. Harbs has zero experience on the offensive side of the ball. Why would he want control over it?
  4. Is he worth the cap hit?
  5. I doubt friction would drive him out since Kubiak doesn't sign the players and is just the offensive coordinator, but he is best for as a number three receiver (something Marlon Brown is doing for far cheaper) and a returner, something they're looking at Denote Thompson for. Remember, Thompson got the nod over Jones at kick returner to start the season. I want Kubiak even if Jones is gone.
  6. I don't get why Castillo would be fired. All three coaches, who would likely be brought in together, are huge advocates for the ZBS. Castillo wants the ZBS. It just makes sense.
  7. The majority of players will follow the money. He's likely to do that after a revival here in Baltimore. He is a marginal talent, but this is about the coaches, not Jacoby. Take that to the Jacoby thread.
  8. In all fairness, Dennison was never a favorite. He was brought in with Kubiak, likely because Kubiak will only sign if Dennison is signed as well. Given the string interest in Shanahan, I doubt we don't see him here as well. The trifecta I must say, all the people who want Juan Castillo gone confuse me a little. He wants the ZBS and all of these new coaches we should higher do, too. We'd have a coaching staff built totally around the ZBS and it would likely sure up any problems from last year.
  9. Gary Kubiak as the offensive coordinator? I always liked what the Texans did, outside of this year. Rick Dennison as running backs coach/assistant offensive line coach? He worked under Alex Gibbs and knows how to do the ZBS. Kyle Shanahan for quarterbacks coach? We saw how much he got out of RGIII and Matt Schaub. This must be a dream. The only qualm I have is I hear Kubiak is hard headed with in game adjustments. Anyone verify this?
  10. I'd pay him $3 million if I were the Ravens. I think that'd be my maximum.
  11. I do want Kyle as the offensive coordinator, and I do want Dennison to be involved in some way with the offensive line/running game, but that still leaves the question of who would be the quarterbacks coach? I think they most definitely need one. I think they gave him every chance to win the job, and a last minute interview like this shows he did not win it.
  12. I think the Ravens want to give Hoss every opportunity to earn the job, but if they bring in Rick and Kyle, I think Hoss would be minimized (I think all coaches have some sort of say). If he can't seize the job, he's clearly not the guy, and I think Harbs and company would realize this.
  13. That's what I thought, but which would be the better offensive coordinator? Or would it be more like a duel role where both are heavily involved in designing the game plan for the upcoming week?
  14. There are ties everywhere in the NFL (Cameron and Castillo were coaches with Harbs), so I'm not sure why that would have changed there, but the thing is, did Kubiak have like personal ties to Kyle, or did he have some serious reason to do Mike a favor? Doesn't change the fact that he helped the Redskins and Texans both turn into top offenses.
  15. Honestly, am I upset that he kept Cameron around too long and that he brought Castillo in? Sure, I am a little upset, but I hate these people that say he only picks his buddies, and if Hoss is selected, well, I might lean that way, but if Shanahan or Rick gets it, it'll be of Harbaugh's accord. Even still, if we get an offensive coordinator who is well versed with the ZBS (not Hoss), I think Castillo will have a much easier time and actually will be able to correctly implement it. And if the new offensive coordinator (not Hoss) succeeds, it'll make those people who say Harbs only highers his buddies, not competent coaches, look silly. He never was associated with the offense, so I'm not surprised he doesn't have the best scouting abilities when it comes to this and I'm honestly not sure why Ozzie and Steve don't make that choice, but one thing is for sure, he really is dedicated and wants to make the right choice. No one can fault him for that.
  16. Well, he got the start in Houston when Mike wasn't there and helped them into being a top five offense, so I'm not sure there's any merit to the last part.
  17. I know the impatience. I hate seeing teams interview a coach and then announce like two days later that they hired them. I just want to know already and it's going to kill me to have to wait at all tomorrow to hear who it is.
  18. How about we snag Kyle as the offensive coordinator and Rick as the quarterback coach? Or would it be the other way around?
  19. I think he's still interviewing because this is super integral to the success of the franchise. The Ravens just signed Joe Flacco to a $120.6 million dollar contract a season ago and have identified the zone blocking scheme as the future of the running game. They want to make sure they get the best possible option for Joe Flacco and the run game. I don't blame them for taking so long. This is a HUGE decision for the offense.
  20. He's not worth $5 million and it'd be a stretch to say the Ravens would even consider paying him $4 million a season. Sure, he came up huge in the playoffs and was a great returner, but if we look at his entire body of work, he's a mediocre receiver with a limited route tree and shaky hands. He's an electric returner. Do we pay him $5 million to be just a returner? Heck no. People love to say we pay'd Joe Flacco based solely off the playoff run. If Jacoby earned $5 million, it'd be the same situation.
  21. Oh, I didn't realize it was voted on and Jacoby didn't get it. Sure, Jacoby was absolutely HUGE and made some awesome plays, but can we really discredit some of the amazing plays that Joe Flacco made in that game? It was a toss up between the two and in that situation, the quarterback will always win. But, do you suggest way pay him based solely off of one game?
  22. This was hilarious
  23. I'd imagine it'd be vastly different because of the time gap
  24. That's Mike, not Kyle...
  25. I thought the players had started warming up to Hailey?I didn't think the steelers would and I was wondering why that would even be a rumor.
