Suggs may have pulled a disappearing act as a pass rusher, but he was pretty good in run defense throughout the entire year. And, I never said eat $15 million in cap. I have only ever referred to post June 1st as a move to keep the Smiths next offseason

That is correct. I just looked it up. We're talking about Terrell Suggs getting traded (who I think has a better chance of getting extended than Ngata), but why not look to trade Ngata? He has a higher cap hit and it would save us like the same amount of money in either scenario. It's just, at least Suggs' heart is still in it and he is playing more consistently than Ngata.

What would be the cap hit for 2015 if we cut him post June 1st? I just read it would be $8 million for this year and next year, but that still may be better than $16 million both years if we can get some value for him.

Aren't they super happy with Sio Moore or what ever his name is? I don't think they'd give up a first round pick at all for Suggs, although you might be acting sarcastic.

It frees up $8 million post June 1st. I've been saying this is an option cause Jimmy Smith and Torrey Smith would be coming up in the next year and that $8 million could be rolled over to have those two signed. If the Ravens exercise Jimmy's fifth year clause, that's $8 million right there.

I don't think the going rate for an older pass rusher would be a second round pick. I floated that around before. Maybe getting a third would be good depending on the team

Any word on the new coaches search? We need wide receiver and running backs coaches. Pulling for the running backs coach from Washington and the wide receivers coach from Dallas

Any recent hires? I know Pariani, but is that all for now? Harbaugh is talking like we'll need a new receivers coach, so let's snag the guy from Dallas and Bobby Turner. That would be a dream team.

Reports are that he won't join us, but Adam Schefter was reporting that Hostler may be gone. If he is, that would be an opening for Kyle. We just don't know at this point. Kubiak wasn't even supposed to be in consideration for the job, but he all of a sudden emerged as the front runner this morning. Things just kinda happen and it's a possibility that if he doesn't land an OC, like in Cleveland or Tennessee, that he could be picked up on the Ravens staff.

How much sense does this make? He was an offensive line coach and most known for his work with the ZBS. Why are we letting Kyle Shanahan slip away?

So, does anyone thing Shanahan doesn't come on board? I know we have zero idea what the coaches discussed with him and whether they presented that he'd be the candidate to be the quarterback coach or not, but he could be upset about being one of two finalists only to be spurned last minute

Doesn't he run the west coast offense? Neither are precise route runners and that's a huge piece of the west coast offense. Hoping for Marquise Lee

I'm excited about the talent. If Kubiak gets hired, Shanahan or Dennison is there. We'd have competent coaches for a long time and some great ideas swirling around. I'm too excited
