  1. Matt Khalil and Joe Thomas (3rd overall) and Jake Long (1st overall)
  2. Pretty happy to get Dwight Freeney and Jason Worlids
  3. You think Brandon Albert would be $3-$4 million cheaper? HA! He just played for a $10 million dollar franchise tag and was looking for more than the $7.2 Jermon Bushrod made last year. He's probably looking for a similar contract to Eugene Monroe (especially with the salary cap raise), and he is not as good as Monroe. Add in that he's probably not a scheme fit for the Ravens ZBS.
  4. They had originally, but changed it.
  5. Woah, shots fired
  6. Just making sure we're in agreement that Charles is an absolute beast. He's my favorite running back in the NFL. I mean, it's a good reference, but you have to do your own research and watch games to get the most out of it
  7. It was positive, but not very high, not like it should have been.
  8. Are you saying Jamaal Charles should be lower...?
  9. Denver Broncos cut Brad Jones: 2.5 stars
  10. You think Jared Valdheer is great, but Monroe is a midling? Interesting. But if this is true, you really think the Ravens can compete with the Raiders and their $70 million in cap space?
  11. Let's blow all the money on Byrd, trade up to get Robinson, and then have massive holes all over the roster
  12. He just doesn't like Monroe
  13. that didn't answer my question
  14. Wouldn't Alex still have a chance to choose where he goes?
  15. I guess it goes back to what I said earlier that the Ravens and Monroe have probably been in the Castle since the crack of dawn just to get this deal done and avoid the tag.
  16. That's my thoughts exactly. If he hits the market, the Dolphins and Cardinals are going to pounce. Can we compete with the Dolphins?
  17. Average left tackle? I'm curious as to who you think are the great tackles....And what better player do you think realistically gets released or has a chance of getting released? Please, enlighten me
  18. Which could mean the two sides have been in the Castle from very early this morning trying to actively work out a deal
  19. Those numbers were done before a $10 million dollar raise in the salary cap
  20. Those numbers were before a $10 million dollar raise in the salary cap.
  21. Having a great franchise left tackle is a huge step in the right direction. If you didn't get to watch Monroe and solely Monroe, you might want to take a chance to do that. He was on an island when he played. He didn't have Shipley shift over to try to help him or give him aid. He took it one on one. So, that means if a team really is bringing pressure from all sides, they can shift the protection to that side and not have to worry about giving aid to Monroe. Sign him.
  22. I'm sure they would be more cap friendly, but you get what you pay for with these guys. They aren't as good as Monroe, so could we afford the risk? I'm not sure Collins escapes Miami or Cincy, and Valdheer is not going to get out of Oakland, so do we really want to try for one of the others? I hope not.
  23. Players hate the tag because it has no benefits for injury or long term assurance. They're not motivated to play hard because they could risk injury, and that money is all guaranteed. It's not like a regular contract with incentives where they have to earn it.
  24. I think he's saying that players hate to play under the franchise tag (which is true) and he wants to avoid another McKinnie who isn't motivated to play
  25. I was doing some research into how much work Dennis Pitta could get for the game against the Detroit Lions, and I stumbled across his career stats. I saw them and at first I thought it was a joke. His career stats are really pedestrian, nothing to write home about. Now, I have no doubt that he could have developed into a great pass catching tight end had he not been injured, but he was and it derailed him from getting going.I see a lot of people who are worried about resigning Pitta, but honestly, I'm not too worried. Those stats are going to be brought up in negotiations, and they clearly favor the Ravens. The injury will also likely be in the Ravens favor. I could easily see the Ravens resigning Pitta, and I do not think it will be a mega-contract. What do you think?
