  1. Didn't mean to neg you, but I'm on mobile. The difference is that Champ showed in 2012 that he was still playing at an extremely high level. Ed was showing significant signs of not being able to tackle and he was being tested more in coverage and allowing a way higher completion percentage than in years past. With Champ, you'd have to decide was his injury to blame for a down season or did he abruptly fall off hard because of age?
  2. It's already around $40 million with no moves made (not sure where it stands with the Pitta contract), but that was also before the salary cap raise. We could have over $50 million before any moves are made
  3. Trust me, I know about that dove year option because it makes things easier with Torrey. Won't have two young players with due contracts, thankfully. Still, you have to figure the Ravens will try to negotiate with Jimmy next year
  4. Sam Shields just signed for almost $10 million per season. If Jimmy has another season like he just did, he won't be cheap at all based off of that
  5. I'm gonna have nightmares if Ozzie doesn't buck hos trend and sign UFA's since there are some good ones, like BDLP and Strief
  6. I would honestly have problems with both at 17, but if we didn't take Martin there (I see him shifting to guard), I think the Dolphins will take him
  7. It's not like the right tackle spot was exactly secure or a strength, so it doesn't make sense passing on Johnson, if you ask me. I actually think DJ Hayden will be really good, but third overall? Come on
  8. Ah, didn't even think about Vick, but very good point.I honestly thought that the Dolphins were going to snag Johnson when they traded up, and when they grabbed Dion Jordan instead I just laughed. I guess it would have been equal to the Raiders taking DJ Hayden right there.
  9. I think it's weird how they just drafted lane Johnson with the fourth overall pick, but he'll play right tackle. That's really high for a right tackle
  10. Champ was actually really good in 2012, outside of the one playoff game. He may not possess the same speed, but he is a really quality player. I wouldn't be opposed to him playing safety
  11. He was an UDFA coming off an ACL tear, but you want him to be quick and generate lots of separation? Oh, okay. He's not great with back shoulder fades, struggles with tracking the ball over his shoulder, and isn't the best with body control. He is, however, fearless going over the middle and very tough
  12. He was certainly serviceable when he wanted to be. If he had a work ethic at all, he could be a beast. A lot of untapped potential because he was just lazy.I think it will keep increasing. I would hope we wouldn't hear false reports. I heard that NFL packages are about to be apart of standard cable, so that would raise revenue a lot and increase the cap. That's why I'm so desperate to re-sign him. They're about to have a lot of money next year before any more moves are made, and if the cap continues to increase, $10 million will not look like that much
  13. Kalil isn't a road grader, but he was serviceable on run blocking. Okay, that's the clarity I needed. There's a large difference between serviceable and elite, mainly a price tag, but you get what you pay for. We paid cheap for McKinnie and it turned out horribly. We paid a fair price for Monroe and it turned out well
  14. Dude, don't question rmw because I promise he knows far more than you
  15. Stevie Brown is a very poor man's Jairus Byrd. He makes a lot of big plays, but his coverage isn't nearly as solid as Clemmons'
  16. Okay, if Ozzie lands Byrd and Collins, I will eat my words. However, if he keeps up this right player right price and we end up with a bunch of bargain guys who are supposed to be value signings, I will be highly upset
  17. I was upset the Ravens didn't take Alshon Jeffrey or Keenen Allen with their first pick in those drafts. While I do love Elam and Upshaw, those two would have been amazing
  18. I want Hakeem Nicks and Marqise Lee
  19. That is how it works. As the salary cap gradually rises, bigger contracts will inevitably happen. That's why why have all these record breaking deals in the past five years or fewer. The Ravens had over $40 million next season before the salary cap raise and Pitta move, if I remember correctly. That's insane. With the salary cap raises, it could reach $60 million before any moves
  20. Can you say you were surprised? Didn't a 30 year old Randy Moss go for two fourth rounders and a 28 year old Brandon Marshall went for two thirds?
  21. They need a nickel cornerback maybe, depending on Asa Jackson (you aren't kept on the roster during an eight game suspension for nothing) and strong safety will be better when Elam gets there.I know the Draft is very hit or miss and I'm not usually a huge supporter of leaning on young guys, but the wide receiver class looks great and they wouldn't have to be a star with Torrey and Marlon being good enough. Having Pitta back adds another weapon. That leaves right tackle, inside linebacker, safety, and left tackle as the pressing needs. Which is the most important
  22. Yes he should
  23. I was a little surprised. The Orioles do actually go after big names (like Texiara back when he was a Ranger), but no one wants to play for them. I just remember hearing the Orioles could spend like $200 million but only spent about $90 million. I feel like Ozzie is about to have a plethora of money and won't pay the offensive side of the ball. What happens with Torrey next year? He won't be cheap at all, especially under Kubial
  24. Given the massive rises in salary cap (an expected 30+ million in three years) and a franchise quarterback who was paid $120 million, he was well worth it
  25. I cannot take another season of Joe peeling himself off the ground. Monroe was a massive step in the right direction. The thing that upsets me the most is that $10 million this year will be significantly less in a year or two when the salary cap jumps by $10 million plus each year. I'm starting to feel Peter Angelos wearing off on the Ravens
