This is why I hate FA. Honestly, I highly doubt Wagner did research on the city, schools, colleges (if he plans on living there for that long with kids), fit, roster, etc. I bet he saw $$$ and just signed.

Doing his NFL Network gig was probably a HUGE consideration, as well as not having to move his family. That's one thing I won't truly understand with FA. Unless the money is absolutely lopsided, getting tens of millions still has the potential to set you up for life. So many of these guys just sign the biggest offer and don't do research on the city, schools, team, weather, etc. Why would you want to up and move your family for more money that won't make a huge life difference if you can stay in an organization you know that wanted you enough to draft you and an area you know? FA is just a really unfortunate situation for me.

I really want the Ravens to just shed the bad contracts this year. I hope the Ravens just eat it all this year because with so little cap space, they're not going to actually field a quality team this year. I do, however, think if they just rid themselves of all the bad/questionable contracts (Doom, Pitta, Webb, Zuttah, Watson) and let guys like Wagner and Williams walk to build through FA, this team could get another high pick next year and really build up through the draft and field a quality team next year with FA being a bigger boost with more cap.
