  1. Oh my goodness! I already said something like that. People were clamoring for those 2 and they are now about as relevant as the keyboard I'm typing on
  2. I doubt they trade back the first time if they wanted Spence. Maybe the guy they wanted was Dodd or Ogbah. But I don't think they trade back if they want Spence. Perhaps they wanted one of the 275lbers to line up with their hand in the dirt. Isn't that what the BR.com writers kept claiming was the knock on Bosa?
  3. #johnmanziel
  4. If anyone ever hit the nail on the head with a comment it's that one right there!!! What more needs to be said............
  5. People couldn't wait for Arthur Brown to be selected. People were actually ecstatic about Matt Elam. You got who you wanted and you cheered....and then later befuddled. You didn't get who you wanted in Osemele, Juszczyk, Mosely, Gilmore, and some would even say Torrey Smith....and then you later were deciding on whether to buy their jersey. Just let it play out...
  6. Oh yeah this too. Everyone hated Gilmore. Everyone hated Juice. Everyone hated Mosely. I'm sure some people were questioning Osemele. Everybody loved the Arthur Brown pick though. That one gut +35s across the board!!
  7. Like Juice...perhaps we could get the Mods to give us the screenshots when Juice was picked!
  8. somebody who develops an addiction to ecstacy as a college kid such that they have to get treated for it may not make the soundest of decisions...especially when they have a million dollar salary...I don't know man He got treatment, but his paycheck will make other absurd things look more desirable. God forbid he relapses. Have we learned nothing from John Manziel?
  9. Sorry - I forgot about Rice and Grim reminded me about Osemele. I initially said Torrey. But you gotta do better than that. Upshaw really underwhelmed in my opinion and I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks that. Remember, Ravens were going to go with his buddy that ended up at New England, and had to 'settle' for him
  10. forgot about KO...who else? Maybe it's just that I remember the 2nd rdrs from the 2008-12 era more than anything...your boy from Kansas St is also a sore point
  11. Hey draft gurus and experts, Is it just me or do our 2nd rd picks not seem to pan out that well. I can't think of too many besides Torrey Smith. Story is still TBD on Jernigan I'm scared of all 2nd rd picks around the league to be honest...just saying
  12. I think part of the delay is that if the player is in attendance, the name has to be sewn on the back of the teams #1 jersey, before the commissioner can come out to announce the pick. Or is everyone talking about the teams dragging the clock down to where it says "Pick is in" on the screen? If that's the case, I think the Wentz pick came in much sooner...but still, the seamstress would have to finish Goff, and then sew Wentz.....
  13. Such as whom? If your experience goes back to 1996, the Ravens have gotten some pretty good free agents that could have gone to those other teams too. We don't even have to dig that deep in the vault: Daryl Smith, Steve Smith, Q. Dig in the vault and there's the special teams guy that came from New England, Lorenzo Neal, Rod Woodson, At the end of the day, depending on your experience with the NFL, you might know that the Ravens don't make splashes in free agency anyway. Nor do the Pats or Steelers or Packers. Guys that play for the Ravens - to your point, consider those teams, but it's a moot point, as is my counter point to your point, when you think about how these teams fill in holes as opposed to spending big money
  14. A lot of ifs and if thens. I thought the same thing but at the end of the day, how confident are you that this results in the best possible scenario for Baltimore. I think Tunsil is great, and I would love a left tackle of the future especially considering how much I dislike Monroe. But I hope that Monroe has a great 2016 season, and I think Front Office is thinking the same if they were to look at the draft board and go defensive player. So if Jax were to go Norman, who's to say they wouldn't take another great defensive player with their pick?
  15. But there was still a chance Cleveland would take him. And the Titans were in talks with Philly about a trade too. So Philly already had it in mind to move up. As long as Cleveland was still there, they had to make that move....because Cleveland has also made it clear that they will likely add a QB and given the news that they are also considering Paxton Lynch, they may still make that move. This NFL is not about wait and get a guy that smells, looks, feels like Brett Favre or Peyton Manning. This is the NFL where people pay $17/18mm to guys like Ryan Tannehill and Brock Osweiller and that's after watching them average 8-8 or 7-9 over the duration of their rookie contract
  16. Would have loved to hear his input on Matt Elam
  17. Yep. Just imagine if Ray Lewis had been a Steeler. Oh how we would have loathed him. EXACTLY. The psychology of sports. People tend to attribute everything to r______m (even though that can be a major element of the thought process) when most often times, it's because the player is doing real well....I call it the "Patriots Factor". We hate more than we appreciate the fact that we are living through an era that will be talked about and reflected on 20 yrs from now
  18. Not Kuechly. That kid is the anti cam. Very mature for his age. No dancing when he scores. And he has scored plenty. so Dancing makes you arrogant. Do you know how hard it is for these guys to make plays. Heck if you're a 1st round draft pick you still have to earn it. Just because one guy celebrates his play doesn't make him any more less of an individual than the guy that doesn't celebrate his play. JJ Watt does some dancing and saluting. Do you dislike him too? Let me guess, you hate Ben Roethlisberger LESS than you hate Tom Brady because Ben doesn't headbutt his teammates? Or let me guess, you actually like Ben MORE than Aaron Rodgers because Ben doesn't discount double check? Do I have that right?
  19. Hmmm...rubs you the wrong way??? Did Ray Lewis rub you the wrong way? What about Aaron Rodgers discount double checking his way to the one commercial that probably rates higher than most on recall? This is ISSUE #1 that NEVER gets talked about. Sports is complicated. We love Michael Vick and Plaxico Burress and Ray Lewis and Lebron James when they play for OUR HOME team. When they don't, we find a reason to dislike them. But that's actually OK...it's just that no one acknowledges the psychology of a sports fan. ISSUE #2 the one that always gets talked about SOMETIMES we give more backlash to the players above, than we would if the QB was Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. When Brady does what he does it's passion. Or if the player is JJ Watt. JJ Watt celebrates and salutes his rear end off. As does Julian Edelman. When Watt does it, he's just a phenom with a high motor and we know he works hard because we've seen the log cabin retreat for the summer. But when people have seasons where they throw for a bunch of TDs and run for a bunch of TDs, that player is usually celebrated. Sometimes even, that player is the guy that everyone wants to draft in their Fantasy Football League. He's generally not the guy that "rubs me" or anyone else "the wrong way". They are having fun. Winning is fun. And most times when you win, you have less of a filter.
  20. Is this the draft where you can trade comp picks????? *BOSA**BOSA*BOSA*BOSA*!!!
  21. True but Matt whatshisname has not deserved all the hype he got. Same for Carson Palmer. But your point is well taken
  22. You haven't seen the dude play. Again, a 6'2" 6'3" 215 pound kid that can run...and oh by the way catch??? That's a good look for the next level. Look man, people will make a prediction about a player. It is what it is. People might be wrong, but if you've seen the kid play, you know what's coming. You probably haven't seen him play much. It's just like Kevin White. That dude is going to be a stud at some point...whether it's in his first season of play with the Bears or in a couple years. He will be good. It's merely a prediction. It's not ridiculous especially if you've seen his level of play and capabilities. But hey I will fall back since you think it's the most ridiculous statement to make but at the same time won't offer up a thorough analysis as to who is a better option or even address what makes comparing him to Fitz or Jones ridiculous. At the very least if nothing else, people WILL compare him to those 2 players because of his size. But yeah...I'll stop rubbing you the wrong way now....I Take It Back!!!! He's doesn't bring the same level of impact as Jones or Fitz!!
  23. Why is it ridiculous? 6'2" 215? You know a big guy like that will feast on the pass catcher friendly rules of today's NFL. Who are all the WRs that went top 5-10 that have not performed well and then remind me why it is ridiculous to compare him to Fitz Jones and ODBJr
  24. I hear you. There's always that line "Make me an offer" or "Make me an offer I can't refuse"...but I don't think Ravens made that move without a certain assurance that Flacco would still be there. Didn't trade back up after trading back? I just think that these last few years, their depth and developmental picks and trading back to 2nd round picks haven't panned out as well. Granted, when they did trade back they did that knowing that they weren't missing out on too much at the original position. Given that this draft is not headlined by a premier pass-rusher, it's hard for me to understand what kind of depth they are building in trading back. I suppose they could trade back and get the #3 or 4 LT eventually while also finding a CB they like. When there is a premier pass-rusher, then everyone is trying to figure out their board. But when there isn't, there's less intrigue and scenarios. Especially when you know that one of the teams is really likely to go QB with an early pick.
  25. But this is the BEST one in the draft and he is likely to be there when you pick. This is not a WR draft. Obviously there is likely to be an Antonio Brown in the later rounds but I don't think you rule out Treadwell simply because you drafted Perriman last year. If the Brownies don't go QB, then the decision may be easier because certain players might be gone....you then don't have to make that decision. But if the assumption is that Bosa, Tunsil, Ramsey, maybe even Stanley will be gone, then who is the next "best player" FOR YOUR TEAM if it's not Treadwell if the Brownies do go QB? If it is Hargreaves then fine...but if you don't think it's Hargreaves, then who is the guy you pull the trigger on. Like you said, there is time between now and April or May to see how Perriman is running and catching. Enough time to build an opinion on what you think Perriman may be able to do. After all, ALL the other playmakers have been prone to injury: Crocket, Camp, Taliaferro, Pitta who may not even be coming back. Juice is the most durable Ravens never pick #6 in the draft so I don't buy the likelihood of them trading back at all.
