  1. YES and yes. If dude wasn't even supposed to be playing outside, but only as a slot, and then he shows up and just makes plays for the majority of games he's in, then you may as well call it
  2. I think your posts are fine. You've always posted at the a high response rate. Keep posting. Dangit post more!!
  3. I've gone to bat for Joe for years. He's a lot better than how he's played this year. I'd like to hope that folks would agree with that. Yes the line needs to play better and YES the pass catchers need to be more sure handed...but either he needs to look sharper, or the playcalling needs to be better. Not talking Marty or Trestman here. I've always felt that a good scheme with a lot of pass catchers equates to someone being open. Guy goes deep, guy crosses, guy runs a comeback route, and then you have your backs to dump off to. The defense can't hold everybody when you diversify like that. He's in year 9 now. And to me he doesn't look like a 9 yr QB with a Super Bowl MVP under his belt. Again - blame it on Trestman and/or the line...but the QB should be able to atone for all those shortcomings. Steve when he's healthy, with Crockett and Dennis - those should be his guys and the playcalling should feature them. Dump to Juice when none are there
  4. Man I ain't trippin off of it as my homey from Houston, TX would say. Last time Ravens started 3-0, they went 0-3. Played NFC North that year. Ray Rice's coming out party to the NFL. Went to the playoffs, first stop they gave a serious WOMPING to the New England Patriots. The only serious receiving threats that team had were Derrick Mason and Todd Heap...I think... This team offense should be able to find the magic touch. They certainly have a better playcaller than that 2009 team in Marty M vs whatshisname who just got fired even at the college level!
  5. I watched all the games this year. THerein lies my reasoning NOT that TDs drives come when we need them, but I've watched this team on offense. Nevermind the fact that I watched the whole games up to that point. I didn't have any reason to believe they'd bully their way for one yard. And actually a chunk of the problem is not having Stanley in there. Another aspect is not having Steve - another weapon that the opposing defense has to account for. But my issue isn't that you should not go for 6. My issue is that the personnel is not one that makes you feel confident in those types of situations. This team goes down the field when the game is on the line. But I'm sure you would agree that they don't go down the field to Pitta and Wallace/Perriman enough when the game is not on the line on the last drive. So the guys on the other side start sniffing you out. I will take back my criticism of the decision, but the personnel is not executing right now
  6. I think the better question is would you rather have a great QB vs have one of those dominant offensive lines we had in the past. like when lewis went for 2k. In which case an average QB like Joe is perfect to go along with all the running backs here. and before everyone calls for me to be removed from the forum, Joe needs to play like a Super Bowl MVP IN THE REGULAR SEASON. To be honest he doesn't even have to play that well. Just can't be missing wide open Mike Wallaces when it's crunch time.
  7. 100% right and I agree 100%. Everytime you kick a FG you are 3 points away from losing. One problem is that they did nothing from the time they made the score 10-0 up to that point. The other problem is they ended up scoring more points later. Why not take 3 and expect to score 6 next time? It's not like you have this reputation of scoring 6 every time!
  8. The disdain is not about not kicking the FG. The disdain is about the fact that last week, instead of kicking a FG you go for the trick play and then at the end of the game, instead of kicking another FG to tie, you have to convert for 6 and then 1. That's the disdain. For a 2nd week you commit the same erroneous judgement. Yes - the defense is hurting. But your offensive line is NOT JO, Zeus, Casey Rabach, Edwin Mulatallo, and Bennie Anderson
  9. You clearly missed the point on #2. The offensive line is not so stout that you should be going for it on 4th and whatever. Kick it. There's time to come back. You did it last week. Same result. So then you do it again this week. Same result. Both times you could have tied or won at the end of the game. A checkdown or dumpoff to Juice Man is perfectly fine. But if it's 3rd and 3 and you go to the Juice Man.....you see where I'm going. On the very next play to keep the game alive they go down the field like 11 yards on 4th and 1 to convert.....let's think about that
  10. Why did you pay Justin Tucker big money to be leaving him on the bench in situations where he is likely able to convert? What is this nonsense. And how many more times will that occur this season behind a starting offensive line that includes Jeremy Zuttah at C, Ryan Jensen at G and Rick Wagner at RT? And then what is with this NONSENSE where it's 3rd and 5 or 3rd and 4 or 3rd and 3 even and you don't even throw the ball to the sticks????!????!???!! Never been on the Harbaugh Hate Train...but man.
  11. Gonna need better journalism from John Eisenberg. Any mention of Harbaugh's passing on the field goal to go for it on 4th down? You would think that he knows his team well enough, but this offensive line is not knocking anyone off the ball. So why go for it on 4th down 2 weeks in a row only to find yourself in a position at the end of the game where instead of just kicking to TIE or WIN you have to go for the TD. Offensive line doesn't play well. QB doesn't play well. Yet you insist on going for it on 4th down time and time again.... And Eisenberg just glosses over that ...
  12. If Forsett gets cut, how does Campanaro make the team? Didn't Harbaugh say something like 'we're not going to be waiting for guys who have potential...we need guys to make plays now blah blah blah...'????? I didn't think it was directed at Arthur Brown cause I figured that was an obvious foregone conclusion. I just knew that statement was directed at Campanaro cause he's the guy that we've been waiting on to get healthy and get on the field! Instead, you turn around and cut Butler but send MC back to Injured Reserve for the 3rd time in his 3 yr career. There must be some non-football aspect about him that they really really love
  13. He got NO penetration or push for like all the consecutive plays he lined up for in the 4th quarter. Even Judon and Big Willie Henry were getting some pretty good push
  14. Ronnie Stanley haters stand up. Now would be a great time for you to say I told you so, but unfortunately, he threw mud on your hater plans and looked the whole part tonight
  15. Ryan Mink - I only clicked on your article cause I knew you would share something insightful about "Juice": because he is a Cleveland kid. Nothing here about "Juice" though....bummer......
  16. It's actually kind of refreshing that someone is blaming Breshad Perriman's injury on someone other than the front office.... Kind of. However, I can't be sold. Not because I'm defending Harbaugh, but because we don't really know how the injury occurred. Don't forget, the knee goes when it goes. I can't go deep into the mechanics of the appendicular portion of the torso, but guys have gone down with NO contact. It's easy to say Harbaugh is at fault, or the front office was wrong to draft him, or Brett didn't learn how to take care of his body....but truth is that the knee operates on it's own set of rules and feelings.
  17. Will people now acknowledge that perhaps going with a Left Tackle who was healthy in college (Stanley) is potentially a safer pick than going with the Left Tackle who missed multiple starts due to injury (Tunsil). Yes, I do understand that Perriman didn't have injuries in college...but I'm sure that carries a lot of weight in the selection process. Dee Milliner comes to mind
  18. You guys maybe don't understand how things work. I guess your next statement to support your logic is that the front office dropped the ball by drafting Sergio Kindle too....
  19. I get it...Redshirt OROY...I know he is technically a sophomore, but I'm not sure if guys that never played a snap in their rookie season would not be considered for the award. I don't blame Trestman for anything. I thought he was just fine. No one in this league will ever be Gary Kubiak. Kubiak would make the Cleveland Browns look like a World Beater. I'm sure Hue Jackson can come close, but no one can compare to Gary Kubiak. It's tough gritty running and great passing. Most prolific offenses only have one....not both. So I'm good with Trestman. I think the challenge for Dixon, like I said in a previous post, is that until he becomes the actual FEATURE back, he's just another offensive weapon. What awards will any football player get if they aren't the starter, or if they don't play all 3 downs???? If Dixon projects to be the starter, then maybe the idea of him as OROY makes a ton of sense. Obviously we'd have to wait till after training camp to make that projection. But as of right now, we are only predicting he makes the team because he was drafted in 2016 in the 4th round. And sure he will contribute, but barring injuries to other backs, he will likely be splitting time with the guys that make the team and of those guys that make the team, he'll be splitting time with the ones that don't fumble. So it's hard to make any case for OROY in that regard, but it's also hard to make the case given that we have such a balanced offense. Juice the Fullback will be catching balls from the backfield for crying out loud!!!! How many more touches will the TEs and WRs have. So it's hard for me to wrap my mind around him as OROY simply because of the system and personnel we have.
  20. Perhaps you haven't played Fantasy Football long enough?? Here's a reminder for you. Several years ago, the league had a plethora of FEATURE running backs. I'm talking back around 2005, 2006. Back when Fantasy got real popular. In the last few years, there have not been as many FEATURE backs. The league did appear to be trending back to what things were before when you think about the Leveon Bells, the Todd Gurleys, "AD" obviously. Yes Marshawn Lynch retired, and Matt Forte is only occasionally healthy and and same story for Jamal Charles, and Ed Lacy has not shown the same promise as his rookie year, but you now have other potential FEATURE backs...guys with promise such as TJ Yeldon, Latavius Murray, Melvin Gordon, III maybe, Lesean McCoy still has great days ahead, as does Doug Martin. Can't forget about Demarco, David Johnson. Nevermind the out of nowhere play from Devonta Freeman who was actually expected to play behind rookie Tevin Coleman. Whether Ezekiel lives up to the hype or not, the league is back in the position of having more than 10 bonafide FEATURE backs. Teams with tandems or Running Back Duos aren't the best option for Fantasy. Even if they are considered sleepers. A guy might play well one week and then he doesn't do anything for 4 weeks. And then of course he plays well the week that you bench him. It's a guessing game. I don't doubt that he can play well and be a sleeper, but to think that he'll win you a championship is Pie in the Sky man! I don't see Dixon winning 85% of snaps over the incumbents on the roster and even if he did, I see the MAJORITY of our TDs coming from the 10 receivers we'll have on the roster - whether anyone of the 4 TEs or the however many WRs we'll have. You're probably better off going with a guy like Carlos Hyde as your sleeper because Baltimore does not have a FEATURE back right now. IN FACT, you're better off picking him up as a free agent and not in the draft.
  21. WOW - Ravens Fans and Ravens Writers and their Eternal Optimism. I get it. I am one and I'm always optimistic. It's just that the conversation about Offensive Rookie of the Year last year this time was about Max Williams. Not sure why that was, but it was about Max Williams. Now this year it's about Kenneth Dixon????? I would think Breshad Perriman would be the best Fairy Tale Candidate for OROY. Definitely not the guy who will be challenging 3 other guys for snaps the whole regular season.
  22. Nope....see below..... Now this one right here. This is probably one of the best posts on the forum since Danny D has been posting on the site. Whether true or not, Ozzie said they scouts did a real good job on getting information about Tunsil. I think that was in reference to who he was as a person given his decision making and the kind of people he hangs with and the type of drama he finds himself in. Would it have made a difference to me personally? Maybe. Maybe not. But if you don't believe Ravens are looking for high character guys, then just look at every draft pick they made in the 2016 NFL draft.
  23. I know we've got a lot of former GMs and resident expert draft gurus on the forum, but Todd McShay just said the Baltimore Ravens have had the best 4th rd he's seen any team have in a long time
  24. I know we've got a lot of former GMs and resident expert draft gurus on the forum, but Todd McShay just said this is the best 4th rd he's seen any team have
  25. apparently the 221 yds against Ohio State came against a feller that was drafted at no 10 by the New York Giants..... if that means anything to the forum experts........
