Yeah, back in July I was buying a ticket at a movie theater, the guy at counter saw my Ravens wallet and said "oh do you know your team is predicted to win the super bowl?" I think I literally cringed on hearing that lol. Not only are the Ravens a team that thrives on adversity, I've noticed its fan base (not just me) is usually more comfortable having our team as the underdogs. Something about having something to prove, to prove the pundits wrong is so appealing to us all here
hey it's a good thing if it's keeps the Ravens fighting. Maybe one day we'll be comfortable on top. But I'm ok with us being underrated, usually. It's fun to turn the tables on 'expectations' come game time. Anyway, nice article, love the creative humor!
Yeah, we can't honestly take any NFL team lightly, so glad Doomie said such. Even when a team has low record they have top notch players...plus new coaching in this case...Ravens preparing, as they should. GO RAVENS!!!
On Perriman, it's probably one of those situations where if the knee isn't healed and they force him playing it could cause permanent damage, so they would have to be absolutely certain he is fully healed before the go ahead. Why toss your investment away by being impatient? Better to be safe than sorry.
Justin Tucker's got power leg...and wind pipes
pretty cool stuff Ravens Nation.
Emotional leader exited via Suggs...we have the emotional offensive leader SSS
so yes we need an emotional defensive leader to fill the void left by TS... who is it? Well not Babin... but good to know he's relentless (a Ravens quality) but the emotional leader will be one of our existing players prior to this new acquisition...I just can't see who that is yet, but I'm sure he's there. Maybe J Smith?
I love Ray Lewis he's been a heart player, I think he let us down with these comments tho. He of all people should know...Ravens fight against difficult odds, as in 2012 to win the Superbowl that next month in 2013...so why all the pessimism now Ray? Just because you are not there to lead the way for us? I think this team does need a strong emotional leader...but we may very well transition more into a pack of equals who co-lead that way...that can work too. We'll have to see, but I think it's way to early RL to declare the sky is falling...shame on you, you know better.
A player may not do great under one coaching staff, while excel his talents under another. Just going by gut feeling, I think Harbaugh felt Babin was the 'right fit' for this team/situation and the Ravens coaching will be able to utilize him better than previous franchises have. Thus previous stats are not as impacting on decision as what coaches here see with their own eyes, AND the veteran status they wanted, because veterans know things from experience rookies have yet to discover in NFL caliber play on the field.
Offense needs more play makers. SSS is great, Gilmore and Marlon Brown...but just feel we need more. We lost some in off season ha know?
Einstein said time is relative...and time has been relatively slow for me too! Looking forward to Sunday, what a match-up for the opener! GO RAVENS!!!
I hope the Steelers lose, the Pats go on to have a great year...only to be beaten in playoffs by the Baltimore Ravens!!! Yup, I'm that confident
payback...we need to face Pats in playoffs to avenge last years results. We can take them down.
The hit by Robinson should be the main story on sports pages, I've looked...it's not. It's Smith and Harbaugh that are the stories. Talk about misdirection in the media!!!
The ref-ing of this 3rd preseason game was sub par, very disappointing, ...some pivotal calls gone wrong. Hope referees get act together better for regular season. Not that the Ravens would use that as an excuse, but a real momentum drainer is to make good plays, only to have them negated by bad ref-ing.
That awful hit shook us up, why? Because the wrong player was ejected. For a hit like that on Aiken, I hope he's fined big time. It messed up momentum. But starter went out backups in, plus skins had really, really good luck (which they can't count on to be the case in regular season). It's painful, but everyone can learn from this and grow stronger. Losing makes you hungry.

Ravens looked shaky. Like they lacked confidence. They really need to get over that and find an emotional leader to take over where Suggs left off. This game was all about the defense...blowing it. The offense scored points, tho they didn't feel solid either. Work to be done on both sides. But the word that lingers after two weeks of regular season : SHAKY. Find the strength to play with confidence -mainly @ the defense, but offense as well. There's no real anchoring player that instills confidence, Will Hill did give some excitement/hope tho. But we needed a touchdown off the interception, not field goal *rolls eyes* and then hold the Raiders to no score after, or only field goal.
