  1. He wasn't just looking at the other player, he was jumping up and down right in his face and waving his arms about. Yeah it was definietly taunting but I think it was silly to flag it. He was celebrating and rubbing it in that they scored TD. Big deal, and I don't care for either team so just saying in general seems awfully particular micromanaging of football players who are naturally driven and passionate on field about scoring. So dull it down they want, kinda takes some of the fun out.
  2. I worked near pentagon when it happened. But not that close - ft belvoir area. Many of my co workers were concerned, they had family in pentagon and DC area. No one close I knew was hurt or died but everyone was shaken. I remember the skies for days were so...quiet. Reagan National, a busy airport that flew over area was closed as were other airports. They (terrorist) had delivered a blow to us for sure. But they didn't defeat us. THAT they can never do. Yet I know for families who lost loved ones, the pain is more real than I can imagine.
  3. Speaking of football brutality...this new rule where they flag a player for looking at another player crossways and call it taunting (was done in opening game Thurs)...is the NFL trying to take the alpha-male out of an alpha-male driven sport? Next thing you know they'll require player to state after tackles "sorry for hitting you but my contract requires me to do so, ...it's nothing personal, hope I didn't hurt your feelings."
  4. Yes...I'm disappointed with that outcome of Denver-Carolina game. One the one hand I wanted Carolina to lose, but on the other I wanted Denver to lose.
  5. Lol on the M.A.S.H reference. Last year was so bad even fans were sustaining injuries ? The year will absolutely be different tho. This year will be about playing ball. The difference IMO between last year and this year is last year fate dealt us, this year our players command their fates in game outcomes and stay healthy. I imagine there's been more prep and lessons learned from past injuries. Sure some injuries are unavoidable but mostly injury teaches about how to prepare for it NOT happening again in future.
  6. Whomever came up with these specific acknowledgements to honor 9/11 victims and first responders...bravo.
  7. FINALLY get to see Perriman. That alone is exciting! But having all these 'weapons' some proven (and returning from IR) and some not yet proven will make for an interesting opener ...and season. GO RAVENS!
  8. A long road to recovery, such patience AND determination. Glad you're back 88!
  9. It all makes sense now
  10. What a difference a year makes. So many veteran players returning. Plus keeping an offensive coordinator for more than a year...feels like we'll be back to our former self (team) prior to 2013-15...<-this period had so much instability I'm proud how this team kept together thru it...But honestly it's SO good to be past that era of transitions and injuries (most injuries of NFL last year).
  11. Punt return is Campanaro's "favorite play in football", I say let him do it! When we (all) enjoy something we often put a lot of effort into it...strengthening it, improving and tweaking it. The passion for the play helps the effort.
  12. Yep. I'll never forget our 2011 chance to go to SB was dashed by our kicker missing a FG. Then next year we got Tucker.
  13. Nice story! I love dogs too, it's nice to bring positive (stories) to Baltimore, it is a great place. How creative of Jeremy and Heran to include their furbaby!
  14. We are back to underdog status? Good! Agree that we play better and things go better when they underestimate us. Last year someone predicted we'd win the SB and it was one of our worst seasons plagued with injuries. At least in 2017 no one will jinx us with SB prediction ?
  15. I'm glad Peyton won, I never cheer for Broncos but respect to Manning and possible retirement. Cam and co have many years left to play, plus Cam needs to learn to lose gracefully, he should ask Peyton and other Pros how that's done. PS Ravens SB's are waaayyyy more interesting to watch!
  16. Gorgeous ring! Congrats!!!
  17. Ok, this was the game I wanted to attend in person. BUT, it fell on 2 days after Christmas, so I opted to be home for holidays and instead attend Seattle game. But man this would have been a good game to attend! Hope everyone there had lots of fun, I'm sure you did. Fwiw, I saw 2 games the other was Washington vs Dallas. So I got to check out both fed ex field and M&T...M&T put on way better show (intro of players was great...DC didn't do that). And the Ravens band sounded really good, the Redskins band meh...not so much. Not that I really care about the bands but at least play in tune skins really. Lol. Oh and male and female cheerleaders...good job on equal opportunity employment. Ok, so a rant: the hotel I stayed at had all Seattle guests besides me and my companion, and everyone knew it. One lady talked to me day after game. She said she saw at game Ravens jersey wearing parents with Seattle jersey wearing kids. How come? She asked. I said I noticed that a lot too. I told her I thought it was because the kids liked the Seattle colors. Just a guess. She said she thought it was because kids prefer to root for winning teams (say wat ?!) ...and went on to tell me about all their winning seasons. Total snarky comment. My companion looked at me like "you gonna say something about that?" Probably it's fortunate I kept my thoughts to myself in that moment. But, I was so happy yesterday...the 'winning' (lmao) Seahawks lose (wow imagine that...no way?! ... ) AND we swept the Steelers! It was a great day
  18. We looked really good out there. Still some very unnecessary penalties...some very football 101 penalties...but, otherwise the way we played yesterday...if we could have played like that all season, we'd be in playoffs no doubt. THATs something to take into offseason and give us boost to relish bringing this kind of football full on next year! And just stop those penalties (2nd most in NFL).
  19. I've always liked the steelers too much to hate them. Want to beat them every game we play...but as a team I like them. They are not a team to hate IMO. They play rough and ugly football like us, are not privileged child of NFL, nor are we. A win against them always feels like a good game match up. A win against some other teams feels like poetic justice.
  20. So attended the Seahawks game and had to put up with all the flatulent hawks fans lol. They act like the Hawks are and have been this leading team for years and years...yet are barely making it week to week to get wild card, lol, smh. I'm not easily discouraged I just wait for my team to be on top again...I can wait
  21. And a few of their other games could have went the other way. There's always more than one side to a situation
  22. I can understand SS telling journals not to speak for him...but...I still think he'll be back...hope so! He's just too much fun and effective to see go out like he did.
  23. I didn't see the game just last 4 minutes of it...so based on comments here we dominated..,at least that was good. I'm looking forward to spoiling playoff hopes for Seahawks, Pittsburg...and then just beating Bengals who are playoff bound regardless, but to beat them at the last game this season is a nice way to go out at least.
