On delay of game ... they didn't have any timeouts left to take. I think the bigger issue was QB and receiver just weren't connecting on any passes launched. So it wasn't a time management so much imo as inability to complete the downs effectively as they certainly had time and were in the range of endzone.

Um, yeah...Camp only left due to injury, not because his playing was bad.

I'd like to see Camp back :) I hope he just stays healthy. He has done some exciting burst out plays so I'd like to see him on the field again. We do need a returner even just as back up and Camp was working at that...said it's his favorite position. So much of football is waiting...waiting for some players to get healthy again, waiting for others to fix mistakes, and waiting for Sunday when it's just Tuesday...

Right on, are these coaches watching the same games we are? No, thank God. They are the coaches We are the fans... I'm with Harbs on this one. The way that folks are lately??? Nobody is a winner on that staff. Everything gets critiqued to the person's opinion and to the nth degree. He gets into the endzone... They are hero's. Agree. If the shoe was on other foot, if it were being done to them...they wouldn't like it one bit lol. But they sure can dish out the criticism like they know how plays would work. Plays work when they are executed well, that's up to the players to do that. More than anyone else in the team the players need to perform in sync and make the play work...can't win games on kicking field goals all season. Got to learn to get the TD with consistency to stay competitive. Might as well get the experience of trying rather than playing it safe because safe isn't going to be good enough if players can't score TDs. It's up to the hc to know the strengths and weaknesses of his players. He didn't do that here. They've struggled all year to punch the ball into the end zone. Meanwhile, Tucker has been stellar in punting. They have to do better than just rely on Tucker, they have to take risks and be playmakers. Can only do that when given the chance to do so.

We have proven over the last 22 games that it will be close no matter who we play. Even in 2014 we were awful on defense and almost out scored a patriots team who went on to win the Super Bowl, and we hadn't put up that many points all year. Trust me points are points with this team, as you can see we don't really like to score until it seams hopeless. Then mabey we'll punch one in there. Yeah I know that...I'm voting a change of this MO...make scoring great again, lol...sorry jk. But not kidding about scoring like a 2 TD lead and ending game like that. If the Ravens players don't want to do it, well nothing I can do about it, but I hope they kinda want to do it for a change. Just me hoping.

Talking about the NFL ppl in general not the fans here. The fans...we point everything out lol, good or bad...because this website has a comment section that allows us to do so...not all teams have that it's quite nice actually the Ravens open up their board for fan comments. But getting back to the quote...yeah plenty of other teams with several issues going on...it's the nature of this highly competitive sport involving multiple game details, multiple personnel...and refs...refs who hate celebrating of any kind LOL!

I'm just gonna have to say I told you so here...because back when we were 3-0 and most here were content with this...I was putting up a telling stat: Ravens just 4TDs total vs other undefeated teams like us back then had 7, 8, 10 TDs total. I said basically in order to keep up with the teams in this league who were winning games like us...we need to find ways to score TDs so that when we face them...in second half of our season, we can compete with them. Well, turns out it came sooner than that when we played the Raiders. And there will be no let up. After we come back from our bye, we face teams that can easily, easily put up 3+ TDs a game. That's 7 Tucker field goals! Nothing against Tucker, he won us a few close games, but not only is it unreasonable to ask our kicker to do that, it's plain embarrassing to win games that way. But my point is not that. My point is this: we are just BEGINNING to improve - this last game...new OC, run game working, Oline looked better...but now our fans are, as a majority, getting very upset. Now, just as the team starts to make a positive turn? Yet when they were 3-0 not many people were concerned about lack of scoring and even said they don't care about it as long as we're winning? Well, that's all changed hasn't it? So now ppl are upset...but now is the time the Ravens are actually beginning to show ability of approaching TD level of scoring more often (we got into red zone and made 2 run TDs last game...which previously we had trouble getting into red zone and hung barely in fg range on most drives much less could run it in), yet ppl are not happy. Well, we all should be happy at least that this is getting addressed now as it should have been earlier but wasn't hitting the radar much back then. Some were talking about it, not just me I read others commenting about it even when 3-0 but it wasn't a main topic by any means, not as it is now. So... Moral of this...jmo but: we learned that no we are NOT as good as our record says, nor as BAD as our record says either ? But in a league where good teams score 3+ TDs a game...that it's critical we are doing this as well. And I still disagree with the general notion that games can be close as long as we win. Why...because that is walking a fine line game after game that can easily sway the other direction. I'm all for winning 'some games' doesn't have to be every game, by 2 scores or more. Why not? Why can't we change that MO? Why does there have to be only one way to win games? So oddly I was upset with the Ravens when they were 3-0 but I'm not upset with them now because I know they are making the changes some of us wanted to see them make back then, and yet that have more critics now than then so it's all very ironic but had to happen sooner or later.

Yep, Dallas is an example of how much an Oline can do for the overall offense. Elliot has 700+ rushing yards. Anyone who thinks it's all just him is crazy. I'd like to see them play Romo...just to see how much is Dak and how much is simply a 'good offense'.

Good to know those facts. All 3 of these players have had impact. So has Perriman it's just with him he's 50/50 ... half time he makes great plays other half it's incomplete. So waiting to see him improve on that, but the play he made first quarter last game in the first drive was very impressive...went up (very high) for catch came halfway down to be hit from both sides by two defenders yet held onto ball and stayed in bounds...not bad, ...not bad at all.

I wouldn't make such a big deal out of Beckham. Let's see how he does in future games. He was in a slump...suddenly one game and he is superman lol. We'll see ? I'm not going to wish we could be like so-and-so. I'd rather see our players step up and bring their talent. They have actually. Just not consistently. I think it's sad theres this looking at other teams as if they got something we 'don't got.' Like envy or wishful thinking. Anyone think Giants will go to SB? Then if not why wish we had Beckham? 4th and 9 Fake FG in the Super Bowl is not careless enough for you? Having Tucker line up as a lefty and throw a pass in swirling winds not characterized as careless? The main reason why you go for the points is because there was a ton of time on the clock and aside from 1 big catch the D was doing a great job and creating turnovers. In the scenario that we would have gone for the FG that would have made the game 16-17. If in the following drive the Giants score a TD and go up 16-24 it is still a 1 possession game. Can you win a game in the 4th Qrt with 14 plus minutes left on the clock? NO! Can you win a game in the 4th Qrt with 0 minutes left on the clock? YES! WTG Harbs! Fake field goal? This play talked about here of which I commented on was going for it on 4-1 into end zone instead of kicking field goal in the NY Giants game. No it's not careless imo, it was gusty, but not careless. This is my opinion you won't change it lol. I doubt I'd change yours either so...NBD.

No play is guaranteed in NFL, you just try things and hope for the best. But you try with the right logic not carelessly...I don't feel it was a careless call. Thus I have no real issues with it...just wish it had worked.

Well, just to put it in perspective. Ppl like to use New England as example of good coaching, winning team. But, even that being so, it took then 10 years to get one Super Bowl (2005) and the next (2015). So 10 years of not winning the SB by obviously making enough mistakes to lose 10 years.

Agreed that the responsibility is on everyone but just like the rest of us you are expected to do your job each day when you come to work and Harbaugh's job is the HC. That means during the game he is responsible for game management/flow, strategic decisions, management of tools like timeouts, challenges. And as the HC his job is also to impose his well and leadership when necessary to impact the adjustments the coaching staff makes (one thing we are very poor at over the years) and let an OC/DC/ etc know when they are being stubborn with playcalling and change it. That's not being overbearing - it's being a leader which is what he is paid to do. No way that OBJ should have single coverage with no cushion from a rookie even if the safety is rolling with support coverage and they did that time and time again. After the first long TD, Harbaugh needs to step in and say make someone else beat us. Double him. Whatever it takes. I never claimed it was easy but I don't get paid millions of dollars to coach in the NFL and he does. Everyone loses and I don't expect the Ravens to win every Sunday like some do but I hate to see them lose because of poor decisions year in and year out. There has been plenty of good decisions made too over the years...playoffs...a SB. But people watching tend to forget the good and focus on the bad when losing, and vice verse. I do the opposite. I am critical of the team when up if I see they can still improve, and positive on the team when down if feel they need support to get going again. To me that's more logical. Pouring gasoline on a fire never helps anything, nor does resting on laurels when up. And when we were 3-0 I don't think the team was resting on laurels so much, but I saw a lopsided difference between offense vs defense. But...I see them address those issues now, and what more can I ask of them? I'm sure they WANT to win every game, I'm sure they practice to win, play to win. If winning were so easy we'd have teams repeat SB victories year after year. But guess what, every year a new team wins SB. Last year the Panthers were THE hottest team (according to perceptions) this year ...not so much. Why do some Ravens fans think only their team has troubles? All NFL teams have them and we obviously have many to address this year, and last year. But not every year or every week. This is a very changeable profession...it's not like a typical 9-5 job where you have a handbook to follow. It's a weekly contest in a very competitive arena. Like I said...not as easy as it looks on TV. Lots of variables come into play. Sure we need to play better, a lot better really. But I don't see it as so easy to summarize where the blame lies. Fix the Oline (which looked better) the deep passes which are riskier plays anyway...run game improving...defense is not bad despite their coming under the lens this week...hey CJ out Jimmy Smith went out. But all in all I think supporting the Ravens at this point is much better than wanting to get rid of coaches, players...then you get new people in and think it will be so easy to win then? Nah, this is the NFL...it's not so easy to do anything over and over year after year. The teams that do the best are the ones who keep their staff intact not have a revolving door of coaches and players. So, stick with the team and give them credit, as hard as it may be to do when we just lost. That's what I do anyway. I doubt I'm the only one who feels this way. I may be a minority opinion on this, but I still suspect there's some other fans reading this who'd rather see more positivity ATM then all this negativity...regardless I can still be positive anyway with or without other fans joining in and without drinking purple koolaid lol. Then go coach your winning NFL team already lol (not you personally Clarence but general 'you' here). Because you know everything and Harbs knows nothing about football. Furthermore, every player of every team when getting injured would prefer to play through the injury rather than be sidelined by it if it's at all possible they could do so. And every player on every team wants that SB ride...so no...it's not the same. Not the same but similar ? Yeah, as in 'similar with every NFL player' ?

I think Harbs is one of the best coaches in the NFL for 349 days of the year. He has created a winning culture where personal accountability matters, and attracts top coaching and free agent player talent (that we can afford to pay). As a special teams coach, he is limited in his ability to step in and make adjustments during the game and is heavily reliant on his hand-picked coaches to do so. As such, we may only judge him on his clock management, challenges, and pivotal decisions (4th down calls, etc.). By those metrics, he hasn't been very successful and recently has contributed to our losses. I am more concerned with the inability of the high character / high IQ players and the elite coaching staff to avoid continually repeated mistakes with technique, alignment, execution, tempo and adjustments. Those shortfalls have cost us more than any poor in-game decisions by Harbs, I think. Yeah, the responsibility falls on everyone. For example...penalties are done by the players mistakes or ref mistakes. Play calls would be the coaches, and the actual execution of: both coaches and players (teaching and follow through) so that's a hazy area as to who was at fault in every given play. And what about rookies? They tend to make mistakes in beginning so are we supposed to not play the rookies? Of course not. And Harbs made aggressive calls as he has confidence in his players being able to make the play. It's not really negative for him to have belief in his players...it's a good thing. It shows confidence, support all around. It's when that support begins to break down and coaches lack confidence in their players that fans should be worried. Fact of the matter is...if that 4-1 play worked, and we pulled off a win...we would not even be talking about this. Hey, the offense improved. That means they are progressing even though the W column didn't reflect it, yet we had more of a run game, some deep receptions and more endzone completions than previous games. This is because they are trying...putting in effort. It wasn't good enough to W but it wasn't digressing from the previous week either. That's a sign of good coaching to shake things up and get an improvement. Plus the injuries, that is, lack of having so many, may have also given us the win. NFL coaching isn't as easy as it may seem just by watching it on TV ?

I agree. Very disappointed in the loss but it is what it is. On to the next game. AFC north is still up for grabs. Just reminding people. Yep...Ben Snottyburger is out plus Pitts plays NE next week. Unfortunately Bengals play Browns in Cin...so our game with Jets will be important because it seems Cincinnati can get the win next week...maybe Browns will upset...but they have yet to win a single game...so, unlikely lol.

knowing how our team treats injuries I would not expect to see him until well who knows. 1week or 5 weeks. Ok, thanks...so sounds like he'll miss the Jets game at least. That concussion knocked his helmet off (or occurred after it was off?) so that's something they'll likely consider as far as impact.

I wouldn't expect Marty to fix everything, that's a tall order. Just was looking to see improvement...saw it. Hope Suggs can come back, at least there's some hope he can. How long would Jimmy Smith be out w/concussion?

I saw improvement in the offense and I think that's a positive. Going into this game I wasn't sure we could win it given our injuries and trying out a new offense system. The penalties def hurt. But I saw a lot that was better than the previous games with our offense. Perriman's catch in first drive of first quarter...CLUTCH! Odell Beckham annoys me lol. All his celebrating and his love affair with that sideline net...he's just too much. Annoying as could be. Well, let him celebrate...we all have a long way to go for this season to be over so today he celebrates but Dallas will likely kick their behinds anywho (div rivals), so the Giants need not count themselves in playoffs just yet Odumb beckHAM. I'd like to see the Ravens keep moving forward and not be too discouraged by Sunday's outcome. Really work on stopping those penalties and keep elevating the level of playmaking. Bengals and Pitts both lost their games so that's somewhat helpful to us. Means no one advanced this week...including them.

I don't mind Joe favoring deep passes if they learn to connect more often than they have been. Still, I'd like to see them balance their plays and make the most out of all types. I get the sense Flacco prefers the deep passes. Those are great plays but riskier too. There is one advantage tho and that's getting the pass interference called on those. The major disadvantage is interceptions. Another disadvantage is lesser odds of completion in a deep pass results in too many wasted downs going deep. But...if Ravens receivers get really good at the deep pass receptions...yeah we'll start notching up wins with more scoring in end zone. If...if.

Problem is that if we get our usual and customary zero pass rush Eli will look like Peyton in his prime. Hope I'm dead wrong but I have the feeling this will be a long day. A road game against a desperate Giants team. Not a good combo. Yeah, we definitely gotta 'bring it' with Eli.
