  1. I noticed the same too. Very hands off refs...weren't calling anything unless it was really obvious. And even if it was really obvious in some cases. So we didn't get any breaks on penalties that would help us...but there sure were some committed. Wasn't there one with Pitta in endzone and his arm was held on the play? Hey we need all the help we can get and so refs spotting the penalties more often sure would have been nice. Doesn't excuse the playing, but still...missed calls did happen.
  2. What they've said here all sounds reasonable to me. They know they have problems and identified them specifically (something I felt was downplayed early on in season). The missing element is their, so far, inability to CORRECT those mistakes they keep talking about. But I understand each loss what they are saying and I know they INTEND to fix the problems. They have two weeks to reflect and repair. And if they can't make much out of the second half of season I'll still be a Ravens fan. I'd rather see them triumph though. It's completely up to them. I'm sure they are tired of talking about these issues as we are of hearing about it. But, I understand it. It's the nature of the NFL. My second team, Dallas Cowboys, they haven't won a SB in decades. Decades. But they are good this year and have a shot. Not every team prevails and none all the time. I understand what Ravens are going through and they don't want to be in the place and they feel they are better than this. I agree!
  3. Yeah, that's the only logical explanation because it sure looked like they should have rested him. He had a better first half, but if he has injury, the longer he's in the game and getting hit, it takes a toll. I think that's what happened here.
  4. Agree. So what happened this game? The penalties cost them dearly. And the fumble. And until they learn how to score on offense...TDs, it won't matter (these close games) because need those 7points. But, have to say I still see them fighting. I'm not sure why they won't play Stanley but yet they practice him?? I think they need him badly. Good it's a bye week. They really, really need it. I'm not giving up on them, and I don't see them giving up on themselves...but they are their own worst enemy in certain ways. Like West had it almost at the goal, and they committed a penalty that play.
  5. You wear 52 pounds of beads?! Lol good thing you're not honoring Timmy Jernigan ? Yeah, reading this article, lots of good charitable work you do, kudos to you!
  6. Good news! Better than last week, finally getting some starters back. Flacco might play then, that's good.
  7. Yeah lol...I squint for a second trying to read it...then think "better not I'll get wrinkles doing this."
  8. Good article. Yeah I can just imagine how rough it is when losing facing the media's questions. It's also nice to see it from all angles...the reporters, the players, the go-betweens, the coaches. I suppose I can see it from Cam's side after you explain it that way. Still, he should work on that he's got to be the worst on that. But at least he dressed up nice lol, his clothes spoke for him. Those videos are cute...I like the teams approach to bring humor into the mix. "What do I do with my hands?" ?
  9. Yeah I don't think he needs the 'experience' of practicing. He's got the experience. I'd think tho that he needs to throw some to test if there's any pain when throwing, and see the accuracy of the throws, especially deep passes...things like that. I'd really love it if he played...but truly if it's best he doesn't...I say take the bye and get 100% come back game 8. I'm NOT for Mallett replacing him I don't think we are even close to a Dak-Romo type scenario lol.
  10. When he's successful, our phones will be the ones operating us! Yeah the prospects of this can be both neat and scary. ?Hey...just make their batteries easily removable...just...in...case.
  11. Domestic violence is an important issue in a sport that keeps putting $ above dealing with the issue...I wouldn't have minded SS putting Josh on IR, taste of his own medicine they call it ?
  12. I question where your info came from. MRI showed nothing. I never read that and if our team said it I wouldn't believe it. Who know Joe might be missing his entire right arm. It was looked at after the game. And when I said it "showed nothing" it's, as far as I understood, "nothing serious". Joe's words from another article here.
  13. Penalties name: Holden E. Legalformation and his mom's maiden name was Ima Offsides-Agan
  14. Way to make us all feel dumb Urschel!!! Most ppl are still learning to operate their smart phones.
  15. Lol, let's hope "penalties" gets benched this week.
  16. It seems logical (to me) to let Joe heal, let Mallett play, head into the bye...then bring back Joe against Steelers because he should only need a week or two on the recovery since nothing on MRI. Just makes sense. Unless Joe feels 100%...then play him. But he's missed 2 days practice...Mallett's been practicing...Sunday is almost here. I could listen to Marty talk all day...he's just got an interesting cadence. He's energized and positive. So was Trestman...positive...not bashing him...but Marty just gets me excited about our offense and especially when he says they need to play aggressive. That's what we want to hear!! Make those big plays...and I also am all for pass interference calls in our favor...hey they are almost as fun as receptions lol!
  17. Odell Hamburger said: I'm so happy I'm going do lots of McDonalds commercials now, when you order the happy meal it comes with a mini me doll and a miniature kicking net.
  18. "Like 3 point scoring games" Meaning a team scored 3 points entire game.
  19. I didn't find our performance embarrassing...we played a close game. To me the teams that get embarrassed are the ones in blowouts...like 3 point scoring games ? But do the sports announcer go neg on them? No they make excuses why that's happening. But if we are down 4 points then here come the negs from announcers. Like "they managed to get 1 yard maybe 2 on the play."Then when the other team does the same thing they say "and another 2 yard gain!" Like one 2 yard gain (ours) is so insignificant but another teams is "wow 2 more yards". I'm amazed at this undercurrent among announcers. And no it's not Homerism, as I tried to give them benefit of doubt but they just keep doing it game after game.
  20. Anybody here ever quoted yourself? Lol...well I'm now thinking what I saw as a difference on Joe's face was not so much game frustration but pain and frustration about the shoulder issue he's having...I hope he gets rest on that, healed up and is ready to play Sunday.
  21. To add to the positives here...Not to take anything away from a Trestman as a person...but watching Marty on the field gave me some excitement...the passion in his eyes and his contact with players this way (which watching from home I could notice when the camera was on him) made me feel he's got more of a 'go-get em' approach. I feel that's what we've been looking for...you know, someone roused up a bit, and so it's nice to see it happening.
  22. Was he though? Half this fan base thinks Aiken was wide open too, if he was open before the ball was thrown than I agree it was all Flacco and I'm mad as he missed some opportunities in this game albeit he had no time on that throw with people in his face. Yeah...by far THE BEST Flacco throw of the game and fans are complaining it could have been done better * smh *. Well, gamepass has slow motion replay feature...and basically saw this...33 was rushing Flacco 'just' as Wallace passed across defenders and got open on the right but it happened 'as' NOT before Flacco was forced the release the ball or take a sack (and he took a hit for that play regardless)...clearly he'd already committed to throw to Perriman at that point and no TIME to adjust...a beautiful play.
  23. I am mostly in agreement. I think Joe does believe in himself and the offense. If he didn't he wouldn't be taking those deep shots to his guys. Did you see the stat that the Ravens have thrown the ball the most in the entire NFL this year? It's not even close to the next team. Joe does not call the plays, and he can't check out of everything, he must, must trust his OC and he does. What is needed is that the OC must cal;l more running plays and a lot more to get things back in balance and the passing plays under 41-42 per game maximum. The only exception I can think of to that is if the passing game is working extremely well, but we have not seen that yet. Yeah I think the team believes in themselves, I agree with that part. I think however the frustration is tangible on Joe's face recently after games which I didn't used to see that much previously. On the exorbitant amount of passing attempts...that a Trestman era legacy that should even out as the season goes on and Marty calls for more running plays.
  24. I agree. What characterizes last week's loss...is more than one single thing, but one of those was lack of big plays from our WR. With the exception of Perriman making a play in first drive of first quarter...and I think Wallace had one...if we could photo copy those plays and place them strategically in every quarter, we would have won game. We also would have won game imo if Jimmy Smith had stayed on OBJ but ofc he couldn't play with concussion...but I think that was crucial. It stings that the D had them at 4-1 just before Beckham ...changed the entire dynamic of that game.
  25. I agree that some kind of attention to the emotional aspect needs to be addressed. It could have been overall fatigue and frustration setting in at end of game. This is the second game I've seen him look that way. I'd say def address it and hopefully they are. I think positive reenforcement is so much better than focusing on negs and I'd expect teams and coaches to embrace this approach because it works. But it's just game after game things start to set in...so get something upbeat going for the team...I wish fans would also be more upbeat but I think they forget players are human like them.
