  1. I just look at it one game at a time. The day the Ravens stop being a team that fights is the day I lose interest in them. Until then, which I hope never happens, I'm behind them on winning the next game. And the next, and the next....regardless of their record.
  2. The remainder of our season, we will get some key offense players back. Our defense has to step it up, but it's our offense that must pull thru which is possible if we get sorely needed players back. For example, SSS and Gilmore on field today...we may have scored enough to win regardless of defense. But SSS, Gilmore, Campanero, Forsett (later in game) ALL out.
  3. What we need is to heal...so many injuries of top players. If we get just half of them back next game or next few games, we'll do so much better.
  4. Well said! Looks like the Football Gods just dealt us some set backs. It's not Ozzy, Harbs, Pees, Flacco....you name it's fault. Because how are injuries the fault of the organization who could not have possibly foreseen them? They're not!
  5. Hey, there's a stat right there we can change
  6. Zombie comparison is funny. On that note I'm so glad we are not a team building organization that gives up on their season...to me that's wimpy. We instead place value on underdogs. And on that note, that's why when we acquire semi-good players I still get optimistic on what they can do once in Baltimore, because this coaching staff has a knack for believing in that diamond in the rough player they can work with. And Ozzy bargain hunts for this (so as to not have to enter into a team building mode) and he and the others that run this team look for certain qualities in players they can build upon...so investing in the players that way. Flacco is an unbiased quarterback compared to others in the league. He doesn't 'play favorites' I like that about him all these things combined are what make the Ravens a unique organization. Fans should be proud. We're fighters and believe in our abilities players, doesn't mean bad playing is tolerated, eventually it's not, but at least this is a team that truly operates on the principal of equality among the members and strong work ethic.
  7. Aiken has already proved himself in some clutch situations (most recently Pittsburg game) he just needs more consistency. Givens is itching to prove himself, you can just tell. I hope he does well! I hope all our receivers do well. Anything can be improved/turned around. Stats are made to be broken.
  8. Yes! The fact we now 'have' a deep threat (SSS out on injury but he was our only deep threat) so when Steve is back in the game...2 deep threats...that will, at the least, keep our opponents guessing on what we'll do play by play. And unlike SL, I think Bal organization will give Givens more legit opportunities (in the beginning anyway) to see what he does with them.
  9. I'm looking at Givens with an open mind. I believe him when he says SL just wasn't giving him enough chances. Innocent until proven guilty, or better yet...a good addition (possibly great) to the roster unless proven otherwise. Diamond in the rough possibly. I've always been a glass half full person anyway...but still ...
  10. #13, Edgar Allan Poe would be proud ... "And you shall beat us Ravens, Nevermore."
  11. I mean, just look at the above photo, look how sharp Dumerville, Mosley and the others there look. Why only 2 games for this uniform? More I say.
  12. Ah, good to know I'm not the only one who thinks ...no scratch that...KNOWS that black is our power color...black and purple baby!!! Or all black. Black and pink is sharp too...move away from the white (yes I'm superstitious as Stevie Wonder sings ) but also, Ravens (the birds) tend to be Black ...so, represent.
  13. If we do aquire Tate I'm going to call him The Golden Receiver ...anyone who knows dogs knows, that's damn good stock!
  14. A testament to self-confidence, Tucker is that!
  15. Thanks for replying/clarifying on Campanaro :-)
  16. Ok, another article here said Camps injury not necessarily season ending. Here this article says "he's not coming back"...which is it? I hope the former and not the latter.
  17. NFL.com is reporting SSS injury is 4 broken ribs and it's NOT a long-term injury, not surgical tissue. So looks like Sr will be back eventually during regular season after week by week assessment.
  18. Well...I would not want us without Flacco so I'll take the high road and wish Ben a fast recovery for Pitts team and fans...but largely because I read @ NFL website some Pitts fans sending nice comments about our losing Suggs...they said basically same thing Flacco said that they'll miss seeing Suggs play and wished him/us well. Must say it was a surprise to read that. So I'll pass on the gesture. Not everyone had nice things to say (but I did appreciate those who did).
  19. I have confidence in Jimmy Smith too, seen him make many, many great plays. On to next game. Head high.
  20. 3-4 and even 4-3 is very doable. Excellent points.
  21. Good article. We need to remember the positives and the players standing out which can be over looked due to the losses. I agree Cincy seems a top NFL team thus far, hence we did very good keep close score to them. Denver and Oakland also rolling along with the wins...and we played close ball with them. Perspective.
  22. Being a relatively young team I do think they need the caliber of playing confidence veterans carry. How did veterans get to that point? By pushing beyond disappointments and adversity...not avoiding it thru perfect playing...perfect playing is born out of tough knocks. So I think the younger players need to keep their heads held high and find a way out of this 0-3 hell.
  23. Having a variety of articles is good. And it's good to be reminded how much some out there hate the Ravens and work against us to tarnish us...thus the more reason for us to focus and play our best ball, shutting them up!
  24. SSS is an alpha male and Harbs has acquired a lot of beta males to the team these past years, which is great because beta males are supportive team players. But Harbs hopefully knows you still have to get more those alpha males (like SSS) on team too even if they butt heads with coaches and cause some friction (not Smith but others have), they still overall elevate the level of playing for entire team. Case in point: Ray Lewis. Total alpha male and I think in his mind considered himself the real coach of team. Probably not Harbs favorite situation to contend with that but the alpha males take care of team while on the field, so we need that. Don't just go for players that support you. I know in theory it sounds like a good team unit, but we are seeing that the lack of fire is result of not having enough alpha types. They seem to have been weeded out from the pack...well, time to get some back. A coach is only as valuable as his team performs.
  25. I think the Ravens lack of 'fire' as some mention, is largely due to not having a strong leader. This would need to be an outspoken player on field that rallies the players and taps into that inspirational energy boost that gets beyond regular body fatigue. Without such a rallier the energy does wane, even when there is some there to be accessed...a leader is needed to draw it out. I do hope the Ravens come up with a new leader. SSS is a good inspirational player, and leads by example. So, aside from him a leader who harnesses the other players with speech before game and while on field. The defense needs that. We'd get more out of our players if someone was the beacon. I keep waiting to see who that is...still not clear who's stepping up on that.
