Has anyone brought up Lorenzo Alexander from Buffalo? I know he is 33 but he is coming off a 13 sack season, he could give us instant production just not sure what price he will command.
He'll be 34 next season. If we can get him for insanely cheap one year deal and use him as a stopgate to give a rookie and Judon time to develop, yes. Long term? No.
I'm in the Big Easy for college these day, but I still live in good ole Bmore County.
3 hours ago, BmoreBird22 said:it was an absolute perfect storm and then the defense just played too many snaps. Jarrett and Freeney were on fire, but Jarrett is 6'0" and 300 and Freeney is 37. Expecting them to go for like 60+ snaps isn't realistic.
The sad thing with the offense is they were in field goal position twice and were forced to punt.
Yeah, lack of defensive depth killed them.
15 hours ago, EdTheMythicalOne said:In that season you are using to compare Boldin and Torrey I think you left out some important details.
Targets:
Boldin was targeted 111 times, catching 69 passes of his 789 yards with 4 TD's and a 11.4 YPR average which is not all that wonderful.
Torrey was targeted 62 times catching 33 passes for 663 yards with 4 TD's and a 20.1 YPR average which is amazingly good.
The only other receivers on the team with around 30 receptions had half the yardage of Torrey or less.
Your point about Wallace having 3 1,000 yard seasons emphasizes my point. Two of them were with Ben, then there's a four season gap between his next one here in Baltimore with Joe.
Torrey hasn't even played 7 seasons yet.
I am all for adding Garcon to this roster if we can't get Marshall. I think he'd be a good fit and would help our offense quite a bit. He'd be a very good complimentary piece but I don't think that's what this team needs. We need a proven #1 and I don't see that guy on this roster yet. Marshall would definitely be that player.
Torrey caught around 50% of his targets. That's a terrible statistic and exactly why I'm glad we didn't overpay him. Torrey had 20 catches for 250 yards last year, besides sentimental reasons, why the heck would we want him back. Sure, his quarterback situation has been messy, but Torrey has been nothing short of terrible in SF.
The only thing Torrey does better is drawing penalties. Wallace is light years ahead of torrey at catching the ball and running routes.

Timmy has been at the very least has starter material capability. Every once in a while he is unstoppable. Timmy has worked through pain and know how to keep himself on field.Maxx has been a solid disappointment. He never built a time to build his frame and had the work ethic to get better @offseason. One small nick of ding on his thigh and he is gone for the whole season. He is going to the wrong end of the his career.
Yeah, screw Maxx Williams because he had a knee injury, am i right?

More like hitting in the draft is incredible difficult. Even BB has a ton of busts nearly ever draft (Ras-I Dowling or Aaron Dobson any one?)
14 minutes ago, GrimCoconut said:I think pass rusher is an interesting option for us in free agency because you'd think we'd go that direction in the draft by then again you have to realize that it's not so simple. Looking back though we seen yo use free agency to fill an area of dire pressing need. We typically fill big needs through free agency and aren't afraid of spending in that circumstance. See Leach, Weddle, and more.
We definitely need a pass rusher and a legitimate CB across from and to back up Jimmy but we arguably need a center just as much.
Jabaal Sheard could be an interesting option. Looks like BB is done with him for some reason.

The Browns would have over $100mil in cap space but very little in way of players to trade with, other teams are 90% set but right upto the cap.
I actually kind of want the Browns now
Watch me get the Browns
I'll be 14, because that was my dads number in college. Lucky number for the family.

I don't think Boulware is athletic enough to be anything but a STer and he has tiny Trex arms.

1 - CB Marlon Humphrey
2 - TE Jordan Leggett
3 - WR/RB Curtis Samuel
3 - DE/DT Jarron Jones
4 - DE/DT Nazair Jones
5 - QB Jerod Evans
6 - EDGE Ejuan Price
7 - RB De'Veon Smith
I don't hate Humphrey in the first, not BPA in my opinion but it's not a bad pick. Hate Leggett in the 2nd, last thing we need is another TE, especially taking one high. Samuel is a nice pick, very interesting player. Jarron Jones and Nazair Jones look very good on tape, but I question whether we need to take two Dlineman that high. I'm not opposed to taking a new backup QB and Evans has some nice potential in the 5th round. If price is available in the 6th then it'd be in contention for the steal of the draft. I'm not a big fan of De'Veon Smith, especially if James Connor is on the board at Matt Miller has, I think Connor fits the RB mold that we're looking for in our #3 RB.
Overall I hate that we only addressed CB once and even worse we didn't address the Oline at all, lack of depth there is a big reason why we lost some of the games we did, especially during that 4 game skid early in the season.
I'm questioning why the hell we would draft Evans since we have Mallet. It's not like he'd ever have a shot to be a starter here. I like the Samuel and Smith picks alot though.
You guys are making judgements way too quick. Unless one of the Baylor players gets mentioned directly, it won't hurt their stock at all.

Tanzel came in a little shorter than expected East-West Shrine game at 6'1", but I'd love to have a guy from my college play for the Ravens.

dont fall victim to the groupthink! good job everyone!
Every time I watched Tabor, I'd end up focusing on Quincy Wilson. Not sold on tabor at all and he has character concerns as well.

From a fan perspective, I get that. I just don't think teams are going to be concerned much, if at all. They know there's going to be a lot of time to do work on him if interested.
After Randy Gregory, I wouldn't be surprised to see Tim Williams free fall if they get any similar hints. TBF, I've heard Gregory struggles with Bipolar disorder.
1 minute ago, Drew P said:Well they great value in Wagner and its possible they can hit again in the draft considering RT's aren't a first round target
Wagner took time to develop and he was a home run pick for a fifth rounder. I don't want to be to trot out a guy like Roderick Johnson out as our starter next season. That would be asking to end Joe's career.
Just now, JoeyFlex5 said:definitely true but all it takes is for teams to decide that theres flashier positions to address, which is what most teams picking high in the first tend to do.
im not saying it happens, im saying theres a chance, i too think he goes top 10, just saying that theres a possibility he falls to 16 and if he does hes gonna be a raven and i think garrett and jonathan allen are probably the only other prospects wed take over him. i could absolutely see him being 3rd on ozzies board.
I wouldn't mind taking a player as good as Foster at 16 no matter the position, but we have a huge lack of offensive talent that needs to be addressed through free agency and the draft if we want Joe to succeed.
This offensive tackle class really, really sucks. It is imperative that we sign Ricky Wagner, even if we have to pay him a bit more than he's really worth. The only tackles I'd give a first round grade are Cam Robinson from Alabama and Ryan Ramcyzk from Wisconsin and they are far from perfect. I wouldn't touch either one of them with a top 20 pick. Robinson got arrested last offseason for possessing a stolen gun. Ramcyzk is undergoing postseason hip surgery and projects more as a RT anyway. We simply can't afford Wagner to walk. The other tackles in the draft are a huge drop off from the two mentioned, so I'm not seeing any midround steals.

I'm definitely not. No way in hell I'm drafting a USC WR early. Plus Juju looks like he lacks NFL speed.

I'd say Sheard should be pretty cheap now. He got replaced by Flowers and the Pats have moved on. He had a "down" year compared to the year before, so that could help as well.
