I wouldn't want Williams for a while. Freeman was who I wanted at #99. Still disappointed we passed on him. Freeman and Desir is how I would've gone, personally. I love Urban and Crockett as well.
We almost got Desir in the 4th round too. the Browns nabbed him only like 4 picks before we took urban.
That dosent mean anything, didn't Richard Sherman get passed on, Brent Grimmes went drafted. Those good Cbs that got passed on and look what they turned out to be.
that the exception rather than the norm. You definitely have to worry about Purifoy, he's a basketcase. He got arrested with bath salts like a month before the draft.
I agree. No harm in bringing him in now. I doubt Harbs does it. He doesn't like guys like Colt.
I'm not. Sign him if we can. He's a risk, but I'd rather take the risk. Nobody will start snorting because of Colt Lyerla.
I agree, honestly. I like Wenning, but I would have rather had a CB who will likely make an impact on the team. There are many instances of late-round CBs panning out compared to late-round QBs.
We really don't need either, but after Tyrod's play against NE, we need to try to find someone else to backup Joe.
iunno why u guys are hating on the post when im speaking the truth, your saying you guys wouldn't want, Exum, Roberson, Purifoy,Reynolds or Michele over the qb we drafted, Come now, any of those cbs could have put up a good fight for the third cb spot. Passing on those players was a mistake. The qb we draft won't help are team at all. We had one more cbs than we qbs on the team and usually the third cb is on the field with ONE backup cb, COME ON NOW Get Real
The fact that the rest of the league pasted seven+ times on Reynolds, Purifoy, and Roberson says something. i think Weinning is a solid backup unlike Taylor. We signed an interesting prospect in Sammy Seamster that could work out for us and I thik we sign/trade for another guy if we don't trust Chykie/Jackson.
Bring in Lyerla
I'm torn. I don't want to touch his type of guy, but he could be a great player.
allen robinson or jace amaro would have been my pick at 48. Or cody latimer, nicklas as well. All went in the second.
My pick instead of gilmour would have been any of the next four picks, or andre williams.
I fimrly believe we then could have got Crockett where we took our rb. No tight ends went until 155.
Theses picks may or may not be better than what we done, but at least we would have given our offense a huge chance to improve.
Again I like the players, but id like our front office to go all in after paying a qb like every other team does. I don't see the point paying a qb and still be determined to not put top help around him.
I certainly would take Jernigan over any of the o guys you mentioned. I don't like Andre Williams here, and wouldn't even consider him as a 3rd rounder. Maybe over teams had Crockett rated high as well. We gave a 4th and 5th rounder for Monroe, who is a top 10 tackle. We got Daniels, who has top 10 TE potential is he can stay healthy. Traded for Zuttah, who should be a solid center and didn't give up a sack all season on a bad Tampa Bay O-line. We have a ton of WR depth and we have two young players there our FO really like. I think the main problems last year were KO's injury and the OT (before Monroe) sloppy play.
I have one problem with brooks. He doesn't get enough interceptions. With his athletic ability its a tad concerning.
INTs are important for a FS, but Brooks spent most his time before this year at CB. He will get the INTs up. He is the fastest safety prospect in the whole draft and has a huge coverage range, so that should make up for subpar hands.
For you "need drafters"...what need do the Ravens really have? Maybe one lineman a Guard or R tackle? They will acquire RT or G of they need one by seasons start. To me they Loaded up on lots of REAL TALENT. I can see 4 future solid starters from this group and good depth. Best draft in many a year.
I see that we drafted the future leader of our defense, a great 1st round talent DT, a starting caliber FS, a future #2 TE who could put up some good numbers, a rotational guy at DE, a big and very good pass blocking RB that would be a good goaline/3 and short guy, at OG that is at worst extremely solid line depth, a solid backup QB, and a WR that can contribute to ST now and maybe be our future slot guy.
why do people keep talking about KO switching? than we won't have a LG.
Don't give me Shipley or Gino at LG either they both got blown up consistently last season. I don't need to see Gino or Shipley starting again
Gradkowski sucked at center, but that was because Shipley was starting next to him and he didn't know the calls. Gradkowski could be a decent guard. Urschel could be a good guard as well.
im hoping Orr is too, from what i see he looks like he can really play and be leader in the locker room
It's probably a battle between him and Bynes
Plus last years center was horrible. People are calling Zuttah average but if we can get a center that managed to prevent a sack for an entire season on a below average OL in Tampa, I'm more than happy to have him as an addition.
Zuttah should be a a great player
I couldn't find a thing on him, and that disappoints me a little after how many calls he apparently got.
Stats say he had 33 tackles and 1 INT last year. Might have said he was a costarter as well.
I think now with Campanaro we've covered the need. Ravens have more than enough offensive pieces that are talented
Exactly. i am a little concerned at OT, but i figure we plan to move KO there and have a LG competition. Every other position is really, really deep. We just got screwed over from poor play from Oher and Mckinnie last year as well as KO's injury.
so how good is Ricky Wagner, because he;s gonna be the starting right tackle
Or KO will
Marlon Brown was great last year IMO for an UDFA rookie. He's been improving since last year, he'll be an important part of our offense next year.
Exactly. After Steve got signed, WR was no longer a need.
Purifoy is back on the table, so we still got him, Roberson, or victor Hampton
firmly believe lee and robinson could have. Matthews might have as well.
I'm not taking Matthews at 17 and he went before 48. Same with Lee. I don't think Robinson would be a #1/#2 day one
a top receiver to play as a number 2 with smith as three brown four Jacoby five would have been perfect.
I would have liked more depth on oline, back injuries aee tricky with ko. If he goes down we will likely have gino or a 5th round rookie at guard with a second yr 5th round pick at right tackle. It doesn't spell great unit to me unless kubiak completely transforms the blocking system, which will enrage me further about that castillo one.
Id have ppreferred a higher rated running back instead of the Crockett pick, and take him later. Im worried about the rb position. If Ray gets any sort of ban we have an oft injured pierce as number 1 and a project rb thats main strength is run blocking. Granted thats highly needed as neither pierce or ray can block, but id rather have someone whos main strength is actually running the ball.
Don't get me wrong we added some great peices to our d, I'm just not sure how jernigan will fit unless we move 43.
I sincerely doubt any rookie receiver going lower than OBJ could have done that. A "higher" rb would have been James White or Devonta Freeman at 99. I think Taliaferro fits better than those two. I think with the Mosely, Jernigan, and Urban, we have to move to a 4-3 (which we play a lot anyway).
If we don't get Roberson, Seamster looks to be a great project CB. He's got the measurables. I like to think he and Hurst are almost locks to make the final roster. I think we could take a rookie punter over Koch as well.
so your assuming everyone greatly improves on last year and we fire on all cylinders under a new oc right from the get go? Remember Castillo said it would take about 10 games for a new blocking scheme to cement in, how long will it take for a whole new playbook to cement?
I also don't think it has plenty of talent, it has some talent. Not as much as the defence does. If kubiak can't kick start the offence we will be in trouble, he has to get rice, flacco and torrey smith to greatly improve on what the done last year, but hopefully the oline helpfully improving would go along way towards that.
I have nothing against the players we took, and fully expect a great defense. I would just have like to seen it a bit split over the past two years, compared to 3 picks in a row defense two years in a row.
Honestly, where would be stick these guys in offense? We got a great future #2 TE in Gilmore and a back that fits well with Rice and Pierce in Taliaferro. We already got too many WRs to warrent getting a top guy and we got Campanero as well. We got some O-line depth in Urschel and Hurst. Weinning should be an improvement as a backup over Taylor (who could stay as an Athlete). Only thing I could see you could complain about is that maybe we didn't address tackle, but I think if we don't go with Wagner, we move Gradkowski to guard and KO to tackle.
is roberson still out there?
Yes and so is victor hampton
Yes, its not exactly something you can just 'quit'. Plus you are going to give the guy more money than he ever had.
Exactly, I say the Bengals take him
I imagine we'll be on the lookout for a vet FA at some point.
Terrell thomas or Asante Samuel could be targets
They were pretty close actually, his major character concerns were what dropped him out of the draft. I grant you Lyerla's are more serious though.
Cocaine is a serious problem and will he really stop it?

We can still get Roberson, Hampton, or Purifoy.
