Honestly, even though CB is one of our biggest needs, the best way to fix that would be free agency. With the except of certain players like Marcus Peter, rookies generally work better eased into the NFL at CB. If we want better CB play immediately, we are going to have to break out the checkbook.
Edge rusher is easily our biggest need. Suggs and Doom are old and their replacements are looking dismal. C is our #2 need, as Zuttah has been horrid. Luckily, this is quite an amazing C class. Either Pat Eiflan or Ethan Pocic would be great in the second round. After that is mostly depth.

I will disrespect any GM that doesn't take a RB in this class.
You forgot Juju. And I would also put Corey Davis above him, and I think Jehu Chesson offers similar value.
JuJu has not impressed me this year. His tape against Bama was pretty bad. Davis and Chesson rate as mid second rounders in my book, but I like them both.

Forgot about Sidney. He was amazing versus Stanford.
I have such a love/hate relationship with Michael Crabtree. He's always been fun to watch, but he always beats my teams in the last seconds. I'm still hurt over his 2008 Hail Mary because I think Texas would have won the natty that year minus that play.
That being said, we basically saw the same Ravens as the last three weeks, except against a team with a functioning offense. The offense needs to find itself in the first half and our lack of pass rushing is going to be the death of our defense. Thank god they got the run game working but I sure miss kubiak in that regard.
Stanley is by far who I'd take without a doubt in the first, but I would have loved Michael Thomas in the second. We could really use a big physical wide receiver with his talent. Alex Lewis looks like a great pick if he can work on his run blocking.
I really like Alabama's Marlon Humphrey. Kid's molded in the big physical, athletic stereotype that the NFL loves these days. LSU's Tredavious White, Tennessee's Cameron Sutton, and Iowa's Desmond King are great mid/late first options. I'm personally very high on Sutton. I've been hearing scouts really like Quincy Wilson from Florida, even better than Tabor. Tabor IMO seems like walking PI penalties in the pros.
At WR, watch out for SMU's Courtland Sutton. He may be a redshirt sophomore at a Group of Five school, but he can fly and he has nice size. His tracking ability is excellent as well. I would not be surprised to see him Mentioned with Clemson's Williams and VT's Ford as a top three WR in a weak class. He has mid first round potential but I think he'll go late first/early second.

I say we should take a RB this year. Forsett is on his way out and I think Allen is too. Dixon and West are good pieces to build around but with names like Fournette, Cook, McCaffery, Chubb, Hurd, Freeman, Pomphrey, Mack as well as others in the draft, we would be dumb not to take one of them at a bargain bin price due to the glut of great RBs.
1. Pass Rush. It's horrible outside Jernigan. Inexcusably bad. Needs a heavy influx of young talent after getting ignored for years.
2. Interior OL. Lewis is decent, but not the best. Zuttah has been bad.
3. DB: Webb and Weddle aging, but capable. Smith is solid and Wright is passable most days. Needs a safety to eventually replace Webb/Weddle.
4. WR: SSS is about to retire and he will warrant a decent replacement at the least. The acquisition of Wallace helps and so does a healthy Perriman, but lets not go to a season where Kamar Aiken is our best WR ever again.

Charged as a misdemeanor with a $300 bond, I doubt much comes of it at Bama following the Robinson example. Could slide him to the second or third round however.

Gilbert had better developed CB skills. Adoree is very raw.

He was in the 2015 Army All American Bowl, definitely a sophomore. I remember he was in the same recruiting class as Jacques Patrick for FSU.

We don't have a WR in the top 20 and we don't have a QB in the top 10. Without a running game, without solid WRs, and without pass protection we are going nowhere fast. Our defense will keep some of the games close but against the upper echelon teams we simply can't compete. There are basically 2 games left on our schedule where we will match up well. Cleveland and Miami and that's it. The rest of the games we will need luck like we got against the Jags and the Browns.
Buffalo just scored 30 points on Arizona, the whole premise of this is absolutely ridiculous. Offense has its moments, just needs to get in a groove.

Isn't Scarlett a sophomore?
20 minutes ago, Jacquouille said:I like Harris, but Adoree Jackson is overhyped imo. I think as a CB he lacks too much fundamentals.
I think Jackson needs to play WR if he wants to stick in the NFL.
Back after a very long break but:
Justin Evans from A&M is a first year FBS player, but he is a beast. I could see him going as high as the mid first.
Carl Lawson had an excellent game against LSU and if he falls because of injury concerns we should pick him up.
I'd trade the farm to get Myles Garrett. The idea of him in our hybrid defense is salivating.
Chad Hansen and David Webb from Cal might play in the Bear Raid and have intial trouble learning NFL schemes, but I think Chad is an early round WR and Davis should have first round consideration, especially over the likes of Kaaya and Kelly. I like him better than Goff. (for other teams obviously, we have January Joe).
My favorite team, Texas, has little in the way of NFL prospects for this year. Too many underclassmen. I have been hearing some buzz that Tyrone Swoopes may get TE consideration, which I like because he is basically a more athletic Blake Bell. Kid loves to dole out punishment and is incredibly team first. I wish he could play the mental side of QB better, because his physical skills are near unmatched.
Tunsil had plenty of red flags before the video. The fight with his stepfather, getting suspended seven games last year, being in the room when Nkemdiche felt out the window, several knee injuries, and admitting to take money on stage of the draft. Might as well take Stanley, who is only a slimmer less talented and save all the drama. Conklin going over Tunsil is good evidence we made the right choice.
Watch Stanley vs Clemson last year. He made a fool out of Shaq Lawson. That's the type of player we got and the FO doesn't have to stay up late at night worrying about a suspension.
Tunsil is a ticking time bomb and a complete idiot. He admitted to the gas mask video and taking funds from his coach on stage at the draft. I'm happy to not have drafted that mess. After Perriman, I don't think the front office wanted to gamble on another knee with Jack. Spence disappointed with his 40 time at the combine and apparently at interviews.
All in all, we chose high character, high motor guys with lots of upside. I'm more than fine with that.
On 4/30/2016 at 1:49 AM, sflegend89 said:I really implore people to watch the tape on Correa as well, he honestly doesn't even dominate against lesser competition. I see the upside but passing on a player like Jack for a 4th/5th and Correa is just not an intelligent trade off. If we took a polished pro-ready player I would understand. We passed on a top 5 talent for a boom or bust player, that is inexcusable.
That's actually not bad tape. Correa rarely gets washed down and hold his place very effectively. he shows some abilities in pass coverage. He doesn't alway make the tackle, but he clogs many holes in run support. Most importantly, he shows a willingness to defeat blockers instead of trying to run around them.
12 hours ago, Sizzlebshu said:Still a bit on the lighter side for me and hes not that tall. 260 hed be pretty filled out
I believe terrell Suggs is listed at 6'3", 265 lbs and he was much slower than Correa (4.85 40 at his combine). I think Correa can get to 260 without a problem. Correa had some first round buzz and some mock had him as high as the Jets at 20.
Huge Texas fan. When I say Bronson destroy our offense line single handly in 2014, I knew he was going to be a future star. He has only improved since then. He can play all over the defensive line and even play out of the two point. The production is there (10 sacks as a 3-4 DE last year), the size is there (6'6", 285 lbs), the athleticism is there (4.8 40 time). Bronson need to refine his game, but he will be a instant contributor that should be starting sooner rather than later. Kaufusi is really a hybrid 4-3/3-4 defense end (not a dreaded tweener). He has all the speed of a 4-3 DE with all the size and power of a 3-4 DE. He enables us to really pick up and move around our players like we like to do.
Really happy about this pick. Correa may be the best pure pass rusher. He will immediately bolster our 3rd down rush. He need to gain weight and grow as a player to be a starter, but I think he can do it. Correa is extremely high motor and goes after it every play. He was a tad better his junior year but he possess great athleticism. He fits our scheme better than Spence as well. He fits perfectly in our multiple defense. Correa can play 3-4 OLB, 4-3 DE, or in a little ILB. He could bust, but he has the talent, work ethic, and character to be a future star.

Didn't address guard so I guess we're cool with Urshel/Jenson. I'm content with it.
Stanley-LG-Zuttah-Yanda-Wagner
Looks solid for our scheme. Hopefully we get 14 Wagner and Stanley contributes faster than we think.
His cap hit is $8,700,000 and we'd only save $2,100,000 if we cut him. I think we keep him and cut him next year. Start him at LT and Stanley at LG until Monroe gets hurt.
12 minutes ago, JoeyFlex5 said:I think schobert plays a lot more explosive, smarter, and also plays like a more traditional linebacker because he covers ground laterally very well and diagnoses quickly and smartly. Kikaha strikes me as more of a edge rusher
More of a comment on his technique being good despite not having elite athleticism.

Definitely. He has the scrap, technique, and athleticism to thrive on the outside. He is listed at 5'10", which is just below average (5'11") for a CB, so its not like he is a midget or anything.
