  1. All Marlon has to do is be a #3 this year. He should more than excel.
  2. For TE, yes. For WR, no.
  3. Not really. Its more than just tape. You have to factor on/off the field behavior, were he would fit in your schemes, injury history, leadership qualities etc. You have to evaluate hundreds upon hundreds of college superstars. You know that some of these picks could make or break your job. Remember, if you get a first round bust, its not "oh, my bad", its you're canned. How mayn times have you been extremely right/wrong about players? There could go your job.
  4. Please tell me the WR you wanted to draft at 17 once Beckham was drafted.
  5. True, but remember, its a fight for #4 RB. I think experience wins.
  6. How many true #1's are there in the league? And then, how many play on bad teams?
  7. Maybe not rocket science, but it's a very tough job. There are only 32 NFL GMs in the world and many can get canned early. I truely doubt any of us here could be an NFL GM. We are more likely the Mel Kipers of the world, without the tv show.
  8. *4 Cbs on the roster
  9. We say that now. But do we say this drat turned out the way we thought it would three years from now? And we also need to stop equating high draft picks to great players. that simply doesn't happen all the time. Just because we aren't picking high doesn't mean we can't get good players.
  10. Just happy you aren't a Browns fan. Ravens have been one of the best teams in the NFL for years, I'd hate to see you as a fan of a true losing franchise with the way you make the Ravens sound. Remember, Ozzie is getting the big bucks and we aren't for a reason. It too easy to criticize the person in power. I like to see the results if any of us took over for GM...
  11. With Forsett, we may be set at RB.
  12. I just don't see a reason to reach on a guy like Cooks/lee in the first or Robinson/Latimer in the second when we don't need an WR.
  13. I'll give your Mase (old and underpeforming in his last years with no help) and Boldin (overrrated besides his late year here), but lol at Housh. He was freaking terrible at that point. Steve isn't washed up at all. Sure he only had 750 yds and like 5tds last year, but that Carolina WR corp had no help for him and he battled injuries. He underperformed as a #1, but he can still play #2 to a high level. Don't foregt, O-line is a unit. If one guy plays bad, they all play bad. I'm sorry we can't get future HOFs at every single offensive position to make you happy.
  14. Starting WRs: Torry, Steve, Marlon. No rookie except Evans/Watkins is beating Steve out. i'd take Beckhma at 17, but no one else in the first. We can;t pass on someone of Mosely's talent. Second Round: Marlon is better right now than those guys. No doubt that Camp won't start. Give Marlon time to develop. he is a future stud #2 WR IMO. Slot CB: like WR, only a high first rounder is likely better than chykie. Fuller and crew go before us. I would consider Verrett, but Moseley is better talent. Not worth taking anyone 2nd or later for 3rd CB if they aren't BPA. FS: addressed RT: Competition better Wagner/Hurst. They fail, KO to RT, Gino/Urschel to guard. We upgraded our line a ton in FA.
  15. We are trying out Toussaint from Michigan.
  16. I see a major difference. Williams is 30 lbs heavier, stronger, Jernigan is much more athletic. They have two completely different play styles and fill two completely different roles. I think if we stick to a 3-4, Williams takes over Ngata's position and Jernigan can definitely play end. In a 4-3, Jernigan plays 3-tech and Williams 1-tech. Don't forget, Ngata, Canty, and Daryl Smith are up there in age and ngata/Canty couldn't even make it through the whole season.
  17. What did we "need"? FS yes, OT depth as well, but outside of that we really "needed" nothing.
  18. Just because we don't draft a high receiver every year doesn't mean that we are hanging Flacco to try. this receving corp is probably his best ever.
  19. Good players fall all the time. See Rodgers, Aaron.
  20. I'll just say offensive players went flying off the board in the first and you don't pass on first round talent at d-line to get a mid to late second round talent receiver in the second.
  21. Look, Brooks is a guy I love. He probably should have gone mid second, but with the run on safeties in the first, no teams really needed one. i said he has potential to play at a pro bowl level down the line in 3-4 years. Is that really that crazy?
  22. Watch for Jackson/Chykie to play #3 CB this year, but we do need more depth for injuries/rest breaks.
  23. Watch Brooks, he should be an impact player. Not the best hands, but he makes plays. Solid coverage, elite speed, solid tackling. Just because he didn't go first round doesn't mean his not a great player. We couldn't go WR in the first after Beckham got picked and I wouldn't have taken any of the guys in the second ahead of jernigan. Remember, Wrs take time to develop in the NFL, so these aren't immediate impact guys. We have a solid corp in Steve, Torrey, Marlon, Pitta, Daniels, and Rice. Campanero could develop to be a great draft pick at WR for us as well. We could use a CB, but I do like Chykie. He could excel as #3 CB. Graham has pretty much a career STer before he got here. With KO, if Hurst or Wagner don't impress during the summer, we can move KO to RT and plug in Gradkowski at guard (or urshel if plays well). Don't forget that FA is equal to the draft and we improved heavily there.
  24. They took West, Crowell, and Desir right before us.
  25. Taliaferro is rated very highly as a passblocker. He has good speed for his size (4.54) and strength (18 reps on the bench press) as well has great overall size at 6', 230 LBs. He's going to be the blocker/bruiser for us, something we haven't had since ricky Williams left.
