Good to see Courtney Upshaw in there playing. Ravens traded out of the first round in 2012 and picked Courtney Upshaw as their first pick in 2012 in second round.. Then they let him go to Atlanta? "On March 25, 2016, Upshaw signed a one-year contract with Atlanta Falcons worth $1.25 million" ...Strange.
It seems there spending way too much time picking out the color of drapes than picking players.
This is where the miss on Elam and Terence Brooks (my guy! Go Noles!) really come back to bite The Ravens. Two highly touted college Safeties drafted in the 1st 3 rounds and neither will make it to a second contract. I thought pairing Elam's (college) toughness with Brooks' speed and ball skills would've set Baltimore up for years. Too bad it didn't.
You got he right. Compare Matt Highlights: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ue7wlWAhgg to compared that to Jamal Adams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ue7wlWAhgg
Joe Flacco didn't regress. Joe Flacco set personal and team records for passing yards, 4340 yds exceeding his best previous season by 400 yrds. In 8 seasons he now holds Franchise records for Yards, Compltetions, Touchdowns and Wins.
Not just that the yards, QB ratings and all the stats were all either very close to his "normal" above average NFL standards, Joe Flacco continues to endure a what some would call a revolving door at the OC and QB Coach positions.
Some untimely Wide Receiver moves, injuries and FA situations have caused cohesive Offense execution. Not to mention an Offensive Line that went through a complete overhaul with the exception of Pro- Bowler Marshal Yanda.
Lastly a severe season ending injury that luckily only cost Joe 4 Games and with tremendous off- season re-conditioning he came back, played a full 16 game season with a brace on his leg. He set personal records. His team was not full strength and his Offence fielded at times 5 rookies out of 11.
Pro-football Report, one of the leading national syndicated sports statistical co,reports the following; comparing for the same year of their careers-
in Years - the Quarterbacks who's career was of similar quality and shape-
Year 5- Jim Kelly*, Ben Roethlisberger, Fran Tarkenton*, Joe Namath*, Ken O'Brien, Aaron Brooks, Doug Williams, John Elway*, Bernie Kosar, Jay Cutler
Year 6- Ben Roethlisberger, Fran Tarkenton*, John Elway*, Jim Kelly*, Warren Moon*, Steve Grogan, Eli Manning, Drew Bledsoe, Aaron Brooks, Ken O'Brien
Year 7- John Elway*, Ben Roethlisberger, Jim Kelly*, Drew Bledsoe, Eli Manning, Jim Everett, Ken O'Brien, Tom Brady, Fran Tarkenton*, John Hadl
Year 8- Eli Manning, Mark Brunell, John Hadl, John Elway*, Ken O'Brien, Drew Bledsoe, Jay Cutler, Bob Griese*, Jim Everett, Steve McNair
I would not classify this as regression. A poor Team season yes.Well, I guess if you consider his abysmal 2013 and injury-shortened 2015 seasons to be his benchmarks, then you're right, he didn't regress.
Ever since the 2013 PURGE the team has regressed into 3rd Place but 1st place in excuses.
This guy is an icon growing right in front of us! Before he becomes the face of the NFL, I want him to become the face of the Ravens! Will do wonders for marketing the Ravens I guarantee you! They'll gain more fans with this guy as the face of our franchise than anybody else on the Ravens.
As long as John Harbaugh recognizes he's on our team and uses him instead of always going for it on 4th down. "Let Tucker kick!"
John knows he is on the team, just not which foot Justine kicks with.
Justine should try kicking with his left foot.
Xavier Su'a-Filo I agree
Not counting the stashed guys in pre-season or the guys during the play-offs, the Pats only had 5 guys go on IR during the regular season.
True. Ravens had one starter on IR and Pats had 6 starters on IR.
This reminds me of Coach Billick finally getting rid of Cavanaugh and replacing him with buddy Jim Fossel a carbon copy. Look how that turned out.... Don't expect anything different. At least it will be easy to see this will be Harbaughs Waterloo.
If they pick Jim for OC John last year will be 2015 Before or after. Reason: Jim took the 49Ners to three NFC title games with practically the same team Jim Hostler had.

In 2017 Ravens play 4 teams with losing records. The rest are equal too or have a better record and to top it off the ones with the most wins are on the road. John & Crew really have their backs against the wall this coming year. Ozzie's picks past and present will decide.
