I don't like the idea of moving KO to right tackle . he excels at guard leave him there . I don't get this whole notion of drafting a player who plays one position then moving them to another and when they suck at it no one can figure out why ,,, ie Elam now they want to do it with Ko. 2nd round offensive weapon .
This next pick has to be offense . we were horrible last year .
Still as disgusted with the pick this morning as I was yesterday. Injury concerns, lack of need for ILB at 17, etc. He is no patrick willis or Kuchely by a long shot and the ravens have and still have much bigger needs. When will Flacco be given some talented weapons? Will they wait till round 5-7 to draft junk WR's again ?
absolutely correct on all accounts when I saw someone comparing mosely to willis I was flabbergasted not even close . I know we have no say in who gets picked but that's way over the top. I doubt we get any receivers unless they are late rounds, undrafted or have absolutely no chance of ever contributing period. The fo signed two old guys so all good offense is done .
At some point Ozzie needs to find Flacco some help, but the lack of quality safeties is concerning. They just all started flying off the board fast after we made our choice.
I agree 100 percent udfa aren't going to cut it year in and year out . I hope we do but I'm not holding my breath . I just knew we were going to grab a plug and player receiver, one who can go over 1000 yards and catch a 100 balls a season .when they called ANOTHER lb I was stunned.
Ozzie you can trade to go back to the 1st round round a make sure we get Jimmie Ward before someone else does.
too late
... aaaaand, here we go again, a lot of "fans" suddenly realizing Ozzie doesn't know how to make a pick
I trust ozzie for picking defense but not wide receivers when you have 17 wideouts and only one breaks a 1000 yard season that's your weakness . No one is perfect not even Ozzie .
I understand the idea of having a good FS over bpa but does everyone who doesn't like the pick honestly think the Ravens would have started two inexperienced safeties in the backfield? Elam would have darn near have to learn another position all over again. Yes he was natural FS, but playing in the Nfl is a big step up as evidenced by Jimmy smith's struggles. He got burned because of inexperience on the Nfl level. I would have preferred a lineman myself but cj was available, bpa, and someone who is a better plug and play player than any new fs with the current personnel.
after the pick was made and I cursed Ozzie for picking another Alabama defender . I read this your absolutely right so now the pick doesn't look so bad .
Hate the pick , we just signed smith, we have brown from last year .
ugh Clinton dix is on the board ... welcome Mosely
Well I'm relieved !
I didn't see this coming, wonder if they gave him a number and he decided it was too low. In Eisenberg's column several weeks ago he stated if we lost Monroe we have other options I'm not seeing them unless its Jensen he was a four year stater at Lt in college I hope he didn't mean oher.
I love watching, it most definitely causes more injuries. I watch mnf muted because of Gruden his voice alone is annoying enough . I do like that it is going to a regular station vs subsciption
I feel bad for lynch to me he looks like he is about to have a full blown panic attack. I understand the position he is in and I get that its part of the job but wow can't the media see how badly he is handling it . I don't think he's being smart or nasty . I also agree with what he said his play speaks for itself , and boy does it . Sherman spoke his mind and got raked over the coals , now Lynch is getting raked over the coals for the opposite. I watched media day last year its a circus and I can't say I blame him.
don't read the comments,,,,
Go Ravens ! If this pans out kudos to John for keeping a secret from everyone.
Just when you thought you had things figured out.......
this ^^^^an hour ago I thought my googling coaches was done and we had a winner .
I think he's still interviewing because this is super integral to the success of the franchise. The Ravens just signed Joe Flacco to a $120.6 million dollar contract a season ago and have identified the zone blocking scheme as the future of the running game.
They want to make sure they get the best possible option for Joe Flacco and the run game. I don't blame them for taking so long. This is a HUGE decision for the offense.
I do get it patience is not my strong suit . they definitely need to get someone on board that can get the offense to function without Flacco being hurt .I hope hiring postion coaches goes a little easier then this.
I will support whomever they pick . If john would just hurry up and pick already lol. My gut says he is still interviewing on a sunday cause no one knocked his socks off . Just get someone who can help and can call plays creatively .
@AaronWilson: "Ravens coach John Harbaugh has spoken with former Texans offensive coordinator Rick Dennison during the past few days, according to source"
@AaronWilson: "Rick Dennison is highly regarded by John Harbaugh and in NFL circles, according to sources"
Shanahan is still the better option, he has more experience as a play caller. I'm not sure Dennison is that far above Hostler on my OC Big Board.
he didn't call plays right didn't Kubiak call the offense for the Texans ?
I saw that this morning, but thought maybe all of the optimism was based on something more substantial than Shanahan's wiki...althougth TBH, it could be an unintentional leak, thinking that the announcement would be made today. I'm of the opinion that the candidates have already been informaed of the choice, but the team is waiting to announce it for whatever reason (some have suggested it was because of the mall shooting in Columbia).
I was thinking an opps too . I'm ready to hear either way .I'm sure the fans are the only ones who don't know at this point
Not that I'm complaining, but what is everyone basing this on? Has there been a leak somewhere?
this morning on the Wikipedia under Kyle Shanahan it listed him as our Offensive Coordinator it has since been removed , that's when " friends" started to confirm it.
When I worked in schools, we always told the kids to find a more credible website than Wikipedia. It's not that it's completely inaccurate, but it's just that anyone with a Wikipedia account can type in information on the site. They do have random times when they clear off the inaccurate information, but they're notorious for having fallacies because it's a public site. If you wanted to say London was the capital of France, it'd probably be left up there until either the workers of Wikipedia removed it or another contributor did.
With all that said, if it has to come down between Shanahan and Hostler, I hope Wikipedia is correct.
I had no idea about the wiki I thought it was verified information. thanks for sharing this I use it allot that's good to know.
One can only hope.
AMEN ! lol
Ryan Mink edits that site also.
I wonder if its true and Kyle got the job .
