Welcome aboard!
manning has new receivers.i would rather have manning early before he gets in rythum with this receivers.
you stole my thought. getting him early is way better .
I too called for his head . I apologized before and will again he has done an exceptional job with our young lineman
The player who caught the deflated ball squeezed it so hard when he caught it the air squished out .
A real move if found guilty, strip the Pats of the title game, send Indy to AZ, take draft picks and suspend Bill for a season, maybe that'll serve as an example of what happens when you blatantly cheat to win
I second this if found guilty of course
No other upgrades? So Pitta and Daniels are not upgrades over Clark and Dickson? And last time I checked our main problem with the O-line was the Center and RG. KO was injured and Gino was trash. And I would take Steve smith over Stokley, Jacoby Jones any day. I can't believe people are really thinking our Offense is going to be as bad as it was last year. This is too funny.
Pitta was on this team last year so no upgrade there,,, Daniels is old and injury prone that's not an upgrade. steve smith like I said yes hall of fame player but that was years ago. NO right tackle ....Oher was bad but at least he did protect at times....the offense got a center I give you that . it is funny that people think Joe can throw laying on his back or accurately throw running for his life,,,or even better if he gets hurt then we get to watch tyrod score 14 points for the other team in 2 minutes:)
offense in 2013 ranked 29th in the league . defense ranked 12th . draft to improve the defense , draft a tight end to block to fix the offense yep makes perfect sense to me.
We did upgrade from last year. K.O is healthy right? Monroe is one of the best at his position right? Didn't we upgrade the Center position with Zuttah? Isn't Yanda one of the best in the league at his position? Wasn't Oher one of the most hated players in Baltimore? Isn't Steve Smith a future Hall Of Famer? Isn't Gary Kubiak one of the best offensive minds in league history. Im sorry but im trying to find a reason to cry over here but I see nothing. Tell me what im missing.
we don't have a starting right tackle without one we repeat last year. and Ed reed is a first ballot hall of famer but I do not want him as our safety anymore . we need youth and an impact player not an impact player from ten years ago that's the problem . we upgraded the center spot with someone slightly better then gino. no other upgrades or signings happened your the second person who has alluded to upgrades and replacements for offense there aren't any.
If we drafted 0 offensive players, this offense would be much better than last year's nonetheless
I disagree the online is not fixed joe can not throw to anyone laying on his back and the only thing the front office did for offense was swap out two old guys clark and stokley for Daniels and smith. However I am glad we got a running back .
When you're 300 pounds playing against a run heavy team, it's difficult to play all 80 snaps on defense. He played like 62 of 85 or something. I mean, no defensive lineman on the Ravens plays every single snap on defense. Kinda goes with being a big man
are you always this positive you are making it very hard to stay angry. and Blood raven is cracking me up so bad I can't remember what I'm supposed to be angry about lol
Looking ahead I can see WR, CB and DL as our big needs next year, though I think we'll have our DL stars established and won't really need to get younger. Next year would be a really good time to inject some long-term star talent at WR and CB though. Whether or not we'd pull the trigger remains to be seen, but at this rate those are the two spots I'd like to see us hit early. Very early days considering this draft isn't even over, but still.
I thought this exact same thing last year I hope we are right .
Gilmore is 6'6 260. Good blocker with reliable hands, not a burner but can do both. Kubiak and Ozzie know TEs. He is a huge man.
hated this pick til I spoke with my son and he said we are going to be very happy with this guy . hes not fast but hes a good player and a huge red zone target so imma cut ozzie some slack today lol. .I think Jensen might be the answer at rt this year because if wagner is the answer then we are asking the wrong question. today we get our rt . thinking positive .
that's the problem the offense only ever get late round picks and UFAs
exactly and the entire fan base expects Flacco to put up better numbers then Manning and they can't figure out why he can't this team doesn't even have a number 1 receiver .
Yet another year of stacking the offense with retreads and 30 yr olds. Another year of inconsistent offense, saying the defense could be better if the offense could sustain drives, seeing Joe asking why Joe can't throw for 4,000 yards. You invest $120M on the QB but pass on guys that could have helped. Passed on Jace Amaro, Proyor, Clinton-Dix, Latimer for an undersized DT which injury concerns? Even if drafting offense at #48 would be a little bit of reach, it is an investment at position of need and supporting your $120M investment. Local media and loyalist will somehow justify it. I will be interest to see the draft grade national media give Ravens. I hope am worng, but it looks like a blown opportunity to add to the offense in the deepest draft in years.
+100
People have a right to be naysayers, if they want to and I do think it's atleast understandable after this draft. The Ravens got good players out of this draft, sure (I'm not denying that Mosley might be an exciting player), but they are almost exclusively defensive players.
Last season the Ravens drafted a safety, an ILB and a NT and now they did the exact same thing. There is a ton of depth across the board in the entire defense, while the offense has close to none.
As soon as KO got hurt and Gino tried to replace our starting Center, the whole OL fell apart. Jensen, Gino and Wagner were just not good enough to be starters. While everyone assumes, that ageing players like Owen Daniels and Steve Smith will immediatelly improved our offense, which is not garanteed (Owen Daniels is injury prone, just like Pitta for example), we already know that without them most of our receivers had trouble to make plays consistantly. Not to mention that out RBs are both coming of injuries.
So, yes, I don't think it's so ridiculous, that some people are upset, that the offense is lacking in depth, even after the patch up work the FO did in FA, while the defense is several players deep in most positions.
very well said ! we don't even know if KO will get back to form .then all year the forums will be full of Joe flacco sucks blah blah . ugh and today we will stock the practice squad and ir for the upcoming season go ravens .
Same offense exact same result . and if you can't score points you have no shot of beating the teams who can no matter how many defensive players you draft .
I don't believe for one second our draft board had any offensive players stacked on it . Ozzie had no intention of drafting offense high . It doesn't really matter Ozzie couldn't draft a probowl receiver if his life depended on it
why are people mad that we didn't get a WR, we have alot of WRs in or roster all ready. we still have 4 picks left, calm down,
I think its because most wanted a number one wr or at least an impactful player they are all gone . and personally i'm sick of developmental wideouts....Your correct we have allot on the roster already and over half will not make this team better if they were capable we would not have missed the playoffs last year. Last year red zone was horrendous and we have done nothing to rectif that except swap two old players stokley and clark for smith and daniels . and also most folks when Ozzie said he was getting us a wr we did not know he meant one for the practice squad or one who has no hope of contributing .
Rice will get some sort of suspension. That leaves Pierce and what was that guy's name that we all went who? when they signed him? That RB? That is pretty much it at RB.
We signed a center who, it is being reported, is slightly better than Gino, who most raved about when he was drafted. But - didn't work out that way did it? Jensen & Wagner - though the FO might be high on them - have not proven anything. Wait - we did see Wagner didn't we? I believe most of us were of the opinion we hoped not to have to rely on him?
KO - still an unknown because he did not play well - we all just assumed his back was injured from day one but we don't know that especially since it should have been listed on the injury report and wasn't.
Kubiak - I'll give you - but you can only do so much if you're not given the players to do it with.
They drafted a project TE because he is considered a blocking TE. Not a receiving TE and his weakness is his route running and lack of separation (man doesn't that sound familiar?).
The point is: we give the defense all the high draft picks every year, they play a click above average and everyone is "oh our defense is soooooo improved!" (stats prove otherwise) but we give the offense hand me downs and scrub picks and expect them to play top 5 or at least top 10.
your on point tonight and you definitely don't need any help . wait til our offense struggles again and the inevitable happens again I wonder if these forums will be saying this is a good draft then. wagner wasn't good last year there was talk of him blossoming under Castillo but it never showed on the field
Maybe you gotta give youth a chance. In this case wagner...
I agree to a point but with one very big caveat,,,,we need a back up plan . Joe is not going to stay healthy getting sacked/hit 4-5 times a game and once he gets hurt our season ends right then . nothing I say matters really cause I will be watching this team regardless its just a whole lot more fun when we make the playoffs etc and Tucker is good but he won't outscore the teams we need to outscore to make that happen.
I know I missed something now we replaced three lineman from last year who and with whom ? I know oher is gone but I don't recall seeing anyone else being signed or replaced . oher has not been replaced either. your correct we have the exact same offense as last year with smith and daniels in for clark and stokley there is absolutely no reason as all to think we can't finish like we did last year . and most of the idiots know Justin tucker is not going to beat either manning brees , or brady .For those complaining about the offense. Did you notice they let go of 3 awful lineman and replaced them with C Zuttah and KO is back? Also second year players Jensen and Wagner might battle it out for a spot. Rice is in shape now, not 15lbs overweight and Pierce was hurt. Then they Signed Owen Daniels AND Steve Smith. Pitta is back also. Then Marlon Brown is in his 2nd year also. Plus they resigned Jacoby. Oh....they also have a new OC in Kubiak. What else you want? Plus, they still have 4 picks tomorrow. They drafted a TE and have developmental players in Juice, Mellete and Furstenberg.
edit we did sign a center .
I'm very disappointed that we have done nothing at all to fix the offense . I don't think signing two older players and adding Williams back improved anything from last years Clark and stokely . Tomorrow draft will be for special teams and also ir and practice squad players but next year maybe we can get one impact player in the draft for offense. that's if joe does not get hurt being sacked so much.
Why in the world are we drafting players for special teams can't we find special team players in the udfa .
Well they were awful and how have they improved? We have a new center - perhaps - that we really don't know will be any improvement. After all - didn't they all rave about Gino?
+100 defense is all good . but if you can't put points on the board and defend the deep pass your not going to win period .
