UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

  1. I am warming up to the idea of john ross for us at 16. if he is healthy he is the fastest player in the nfl. breshad already has size so he could be that possession guy as well as go deep. Ross is a great route runner, and with him, wallace, and perriman on the field someone will get open quick. Plus imagine we get a guy like Boldin in free agency after the draft whose sole purpose is to grab the short to intermediate routes, along with the tight ends, defenses won't know who to cover! Three of the fastest guys in the nfl would be crazy. Draft some o-line men later in the draft and maybe an explosive running back and we could have a lethal offense. If the running game works next season and the other things happen too, the play action would be insane.
  2. Who remembers the days when Billy Bajema was our depth at tight end? Now we have like 5 quality guys. I kind of miss Bajema though.

I'm sure it was due to non-football reasons but I was always vexed as to how we kept Dickson over Bajema.  I don't recall seeing Bajema drop as many passes as Dickson did on plays he was expected to do more than block.

i think the plan was to never, ever let that happen again, at all costs, as you can see from our attention to the position in the past 3-4 years

    4. gtalk12

      gtalk12

Dickson was a weird one bc he was pretty good at first, it was Pitta that was backing him up at first...

  3. I agree 100% however, I do believe getting a pass rusher/elite lineman type/top WR should be the priority with round number 1. I still think we will definitely sign a CB after round 1 and even between rounds 2-3, though.
  4. What is everyone's opinion on Marlon Humphrey as our pick? Is he overrated because he plays for 'Bama or is he a potential lockdown corner?

    1. BmoreBird22

      BmoreBird22

I really like his zone coverage ability and that fits what Dean Pees wants. He's got the height/weight/speed to excel in the Ravens Tampa 2 and Cover 3 schemes.

    2. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

what bird said. hes not overrated because of his team, he may be overrated because he really needs to learn how to use that speed and fluidity to pursue his man downfield better, and he needs to learn how to turn his head to play the ball. but when hes allowed to play downhill hes about as good as anyone in the class. if he doesnt succeed as a corner i think he has a bright future as a safety

  5. There were rumors about this, and if true, would anyone want the Ravens to try to trade for Brandin Cooks? If so, what do you think it would take to bring him on from NO? Also on this note, what are some teams and players you could see being traded specifically at the WR position? We've gone that route before with Boldin so its not out of the question.
  6. Anybody know how much cap space we have going into this year? Also, who do you think is a virtual lock to get cut and how much would we save?

  7. I love Joe Flacco, but the dude is done. Please don't call me a fair-weather fan and look, I get that there are problems around him but maybe a change of scenery is needed. PLEASE PLEASE make some changes biscotti or we will tread mediocre waters for years and years. What separates bad teams from great is that they know the definition of insanity: "insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Great organizations make changes when needed and we are the definition of insanity week to week this year.
  8. Lol I was thinking about this as well. I used to love these even before I was a member of the forums board. I agree with someone above who posted that they should just do them every two weeks or even just one big session one time during the summer. I would definitely enjoy having them back.
  9. Mike Mularkey!! Just kidding of course, but Mularkey is a fun name to say.
  10. Chris Moore will be a star in this league. You heard it here first. If you are not convinced, watch this:

Bet he's excited to have a good QB.

    3. DefensiveMind

      DefensiveMind

THAT was suppose to show me that he is going to be a star....

    4. juanman7

      juanman7

@DefensiveMindyes because one, he didnt have an accurate QB and two his leaping ability to go up for the ball and that one TD where he was well covered but came down with it and the fact that he produced while going against the bengals first round pick. So not necessarily the game itself but the skills he showed through this game.

  11. Can someone please tell me what would happen with Monroe if we drafted Tunsil? I get that Tunsil is a dynamite OT prospect but at the same time if we take him we would probably start him at LT and so where would monroe go? Would Tunsil potentially start at OG like many rookie tackles do? And also isn't he injury prone? We would still need a replacement for Osemele at LG. I would much rather take a defensive player at 6 than Tunsil, and take an OG in the mid rounds where they can easily become quality starters. Any answer to these questions would be great?
  12. Well if last season taught us anything, it's that a quick turnaround is no longer off the table in the National Football League if you have the pieces in place and quality front office like the Panthers. I mean did everyone forget that they just lucked out the season before going 7-8-1 and still winning their division, and the year after that they went 17-2 and to the Super Bowl? If the right moves are made and the coach is in place to do so, then a large turnaround is possible, and I think Harbaugh and Newsome at least give us the possibility to do that (not saying they will, just saying the possibility exists. If everything goes well, Flacco will have Ben Watson, Mike Wallace, and Breshad Perriman as new targets (and maybe a new WR from the draft). That is 3 definite new targets, 2 of whom have shown they can get open and be relied upon in other offenses. The running game scares me a little more than most mostly because we don't know how Forrest will be when he comes back as RB is a tough position to bounce back after an injury. I love Buck Allen as much as the next guy but to me he is best as a receiving threat out of the backfield, so to me getting a guy like Elliott in the first would serve as a huge upgrade to our offense, and with a talent like that Trestman will have to give him carries or he would be chased out of town. Our offensive line isn't as big of a question mark as people make it out to be. Euegen Monroe is a starter and quality one at that. I know he's been hurt in the past but I believe with all the doubt of the offseason and people questioning him he will be extra motivated this season, at least I hope. Yanda is one of the best guards if not the best, and Zuttah is a quality Center. LG is our only real question but we have young guys who have been put on the spot in the last few years and so their development has been accelerated which sucked for them at the time but will help them tremendously this offseason. And Rick Wagner is a young but up and coming right tackle who had a down year last year but he was coming off injury and I expect him to play at the rookie level he played in after a full offseason. I think Ronnie Stanley would be a bad pick at number 6, maybe if we traded down but he just doesn't look like a surefire prospect at OT and we need a surefire guy with such a high pick that we don't normally have. Now on to the defense I have a lot of hope. If you look at our front 7, it is still a dominant force. With the likes of Jernigan, Brandon Williams, CJ Mosely, Dumervil coming back, and Terrell Suggs hopefully playing at pre-inury level we should be set. Not to mention we have guys who showed promise like Carl Davis, Za'Darius Smith, Urban and of course KLM who will hopefully stay healthy for a full season finally. Then not to mention the most underrated move of the offseason is the hiring of Leslie Frazier. Did no one see how much a difference a coach coming in can make? Remember how Kubiak came in with mostly the same offense (minus stEVE Smith) and quickly made it the best in franchise history? I believe Frazier, not to that extent of course, but he can make some things happen as the secondary coach. Especially with my favorite offseason addition ERIC WEDDLE coming in and motivated and hungry he will make a huge impact along with a rejuvenated Jimmy Smith, Shareece Wright, and a position switch for Lardarius Webb. I see a bright future guys!!
  13. Sorry to break the news to you.....Desmond King just announced he's returning to Iowa next season.
  14. Anyone know where I can buy a Breshad Perriman or Maxx Williams jersey online?

      juanman7

I can only find a woman's one for Perriman and I can't find a Williams one at all.

    2. sflegend89

      sflegend89

Yeah they only have women's for Perriman on NFL Shop, very strange. You could pay extra and do it custom or just wait closer to the regular season and they will probably have it available

    3. Tank 92

      Tank 92

Look on ebay for an old Demetrius Williams jersey. lol

  15. This was the guy I've wanted all along, and to get him in the second and late in the second was like a dream! I am beyond pumped for this season and no longer worried about the offense as I was two days ago!! Flacco got some shiny new toys, I'm sure he's excited to open them!!.
  16. WELCOME TO BALTIMORE, MR. PERRIMAN. I see a lot of JF to BP connections in the future!! Don't listen to those fans who are trying to bring you down. You are too big, anyways and they would have a hard time doing that. JF + BP = TD

lol i just thought of Bernard Pierce too haha..too many BPs in raven's history! but he will be the best BP we've had no doubt. And @AsianRice i love that nickname....I just don't know if it would stick.

I don't think he should have a nickname that references his hair line, call me crazy but i don't think he'd appreciate it

  17. Has anyone had the thought cross their mind that maybe the front office has inside info that Pitta will be alright and will play next season, and that's why they aren't as hard pressed to get a new TE? Even if this were the case, it would be wise for them to get another TE because last year Pitta seemed really healthy and back to form going into the season, so even if he goes through capm and seems in old form, he could get hurt again, and then it would be career over no doubt. Or maybe the front office is high on Maxx Williams and will take him at 26?
  18. Never thought of that. That would be great. I keep thinking they would trade up for a receiver or maybe a pass rusher but never trae waynes. That would be interesting and could move webb to the slot and we would have a top secondary if smith heals up and plays like he was last year.
  19. Dear Front Office, please listen to this guy as he speaks the truth. I will be so mad and disappointed if they draft a DLineman or a cornerback in the first. In fact, the first three rounds in my opinion should be devoted to a WR, TE, and RB then after that get all the depth on defense you want! Please just give flacco weapons this year. If the experiment doesn't work, then next season you can draft all defense and I won't complain but please try this approach this year!! Please and Thank you.
  20. The Ravens just restructured Lardarius Webb's contract per a league source according to Aaron Wilson!! No details out yet, but I will update it when they come out.
  21. Chris Borland is retiring! So shocking and sad, he seemed to have a bright future ahead. And the 49ers have a huge problem and need defense bad. Probably takes them out of the running for a receiver in the first. I wonder if they might try to trade for Arthur Brown.. Any thoughts?

    1. DomMcRaven

      DomMcRaven

I wouldn't get your hopes. Seems to me that anytime we (the people on these forums) are interested in a player, we are ended up disappointed because the player goes somewhere else.

    2. juanman7

      juanman7

Yeah but in this case it's about me hoping a player leaves, by getting traded to the 49ers in exchange for more draft picks so we can trade up, or possibly for Vernon Davis in a package deal.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

yea 26th is the perfect range to take perryman or mckinney and they will be desperate for extra picks. we could possibly package our 1st, 4th, and 5th for their first if we see a player there we want. id be willing to bet that they are desperate for a trade back at this point

  22. I am starting to get a little impatient and annoyed with the front office because I know Ozzie is a great GM and all, but they have had several opportunities to sign some quality defensive players and are letting them go to division rivals (Tramon Williams) I just want them to fill defensive holes and draft offense. I don't want to anticipate the draft and then have them take a pass rusher or DL or CB in the first round when they could have filled these holes better in FA. We need playmak...

I'm not stressing over the fact they're not signing guys, I'm stressing at the thought that they will go DL or CB in the first round which I really don't want. There are more pressing needs like WR or TE and yet i could see them drafting defense like every year. Unless Trae Waynes or marcus Peters is there, I really really hope they take offense.

    3. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

i think if we pick at 26th, its gonna come down to a few players, peters, strong, gordon, or gurley.

i just cant envision any other defensive prospect being at the top of their board at 26th except for peters.

    4. JoeyFlex5

      JoeyFlex5

unless someone takes a massive tumble down the boards for whatever reason

  23. He just turned 32 today. He is still a great CB and would be a great addition to this team.
  24. Stevie might happen...but no way we get Hardy. The dude allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend. We are staying away from any of those guys. If they do somehow sign him they are straying off their word and should draft DGB but that's never happening.
  25. I feel like something is brewing....It was one year ago from tomorrow that we signed Steve Smith Sr. Could tomorrow be the day we get a couple acquisitions like Stevie Johnson, Dwyane Bow, Scott Chandler, and/or Kenny Stills?

so much panic. ozzie is smarter than all the gm's making these signings and that will be apparent by september.
