  1. I am starting to get a little impatient and annoyed with the front office because I know Ozzie is a great GM and all, but they have had several opportunities to sign some quality defensive players and are letting them go to division rivals (Tramon Williams) I just want them to fill defensive holes and draft offense. I don't want to anticipate the draft and then have them take a pass rusher or DL or CB in the first round when they could have filled these holes better in FA. We need playmak...

I'm not stressing over the fact they're not signing guys, I'm stressing at the thought that they will go DL or CB in the first round which I really don't want. There are more pressing needs like WR or TE and yet i could see them drafting defense like every year. Unless Trae Waynes or marcus Peters is there, I really really hope they take offense.

i think if we pick at 26th, its gonna come down to a few players, peters, strong, gordon, or gurley.

i just cant envision any other defensive prospect being at the top of their board at 26th except for peters.

unless someone takes a massive tumble down the boards for whatever reason

  2. He just turned 32 today. He is still a great CB and would be a great addition to this team.
  3. Stevie might happen...but no way we get Hardy. The dude allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend. We are staying away from any of those guys. If they do somehow sign him they are straying off their word and should draft DGB but that's never happening.
  4. I feel like something is brewing....It was one year ago from tomorrow that we signed Steve Smith Sr. Could tomorrow be the day we get a couple acquisitions like Stevie Johnson, Dwyane Bow, Scott Chandler, and/or Kenny Stills?

Stills is now out. Chandler isout and a few in here said he is slow.I think we stay with our group and go college

Chandler is now a Patriot. Unfortunately Stevie Johnson could be one soon as well.

so much panic. ozzie is smarter than all the gm's making these signings and that will be apparent by september.

  5. The Ravens are reportedly interested in Terrence Knighton. I had a feeling once we traded Ngata. If he comes cheaper than Ngata would be a great replacement and give us flexibility in the draft! Come here Pot Roast!!

Definitely not at 8 mil, but if he lowers his asking price, as I heard the only team interested with that kind of money to offer are the redskins. He might take less to come to a stable organization like us.

@juanman7 maybe. I think that he is going to try to cash in because of Suh's megadeal. It might have raised DTs' asking price. Idk honestly. I only know this much because I have been following the Raiders' every FA signing.

Redskins jus signed him to a one year deal worth 4 mill. We could have totally done that -__-

  6. Players I hope the Ravens will consider: TE: Jermaine Gresham (realistic), Rob Housler (realistic), Jordan Cameron (if he isn't asking for too much), Julius Thomas (Hey....I just said consider). WR: Kenny Britt (not too expensive, realistic), Michael Crabtree (depends how much he believes he is worth), Cecil Shorts (a cheaper Torrey who put up similar numbers with a really terrible QB situation), Andre Johnson (when released, if asking price isn't too high), Hakeem Nicks (only for flier money), Nate Washington (only for flier money). CB: Cary Williams (knows the system, is better than given credit), Brandon Flowers (semi-realistic, if enough cap space is created), Davon House (an up and comer possibly), Buster Skrine (get a good young guy and keep him from division rival), Kareem Jackson (if price is right), Byron Maxwell (one can dream, can;t they?) Safety: Tyvon Branch (could end up being a steal, and has potential), Rahim Moore (won't be too too expensive), Antrel Rolle (Will Hill lobbied for him, they were a good combo in NY, should have interest in playing for contending Ravens).
  7. I don't know too much about this draft stuff so for those that know, what would it take for us to move up to the 20th pick, if there's a guy we really want?

Parker won't go top 10, but there's a chance he goes in the top 15, but probably won't slip to 20

this isnt a great draft to move up in, there is alot of depth and it isnt that top heavy. were better off taking whoever falls to 26. i dont see us trading up for parker, nor do i see him falling far enough for us to be willing to

  8. A lot of the names being thrown around are not that out of the realm of possibility. Many people have brought up a guy like Housler as a young tight end in a bad system who has a lot of potential and is totally affordable. Also guys like Kenny Britt and Cecil Shorts that really are affordable. To me, it comes down to the front office's plans and whether they see the same potential, which obviously they would know more about. Also, even a guy like Julius Thomas is not out of the question. I don't know if you follow Jamison Hensely, the reporter on ESPN but he said that what he thinks will be the biggest offseason surprise is that the team will go after a big time wide receiver like Demaryius Thomas (who admittedly will probably not reach the market anyways). But it's really not impossible to see some of these names in purple next season and if nothing else it is just fun to speculate and dream about certain players and scenarios playing out, which is what this thread is all about.
  9. Does anyone know if/when there will be a state of the franchise press conference by Steve Bisciotti and Ozzie like there was last year?
  10. Favorite part of tonight....ending Roethlisberger's streak of 30 games with a touchdown!! :)

  11. I want to preface my comments by stating that I loved the job Ozzie Newsome, Eric Decosta and everyone else did this past weekend in the draft. In terms of value picks, it didn't get much better than that. But now, I've been holding some thoughts back that I just want to get out. How did we not get a WR in the first three rounds? With the deepest class in years in which a number 1 could be found as late as early in the third round and number 2's all the way to round 7? Going on NFL.com and seeing all these videos and how they focus mostly on offense on that website discussing all the great receivers teams got, it just annoys me that we didn't take a chance on a guy like Allen Robinson or Cody Latimer in the second or even a davante adams or a jared abbrederis. My dream pick was Mike Evans who I seriously think will be a top 5 NFL Wide Receiver within the next 4 years, and seeing them go to a team other than the ravens is a hard pill to swallow knowing we could've gotten them at some point in the draft. I love Steve Smith Sr. and hope he can be like a Derick Mason for us but other than Torrey, no other WR is that reliable. Marlon Brown had some stats but nothing incredible and I'm just not too sure his ceiling is any higher at this point. And Michael Campanaro is a steal who could've gone in the 3rd or 4th but he has injury concerns and has to have an outstanding training camp to make the 53-man roster. I just hope our WR corps shows significant improvement on the field this season or I'm not going to understand the front office's logic in missing out on a potential number 1 talent time after time this past draft. The same could be said about passing up on a running back earlier on considering the horrible performance by the running back's last season and not knowing whether rice will play the full season or even be back to his former healthier self. I just hope all these things get straightened out before the season.
  12. The ravens signed Jerry Rice Jr. Obviously just being related to arguably the best receiver in NFL history makes him a big name, but it doesn't mean anything really. Just kind of cool that if he could make a roster it would be the Ravens.
  13. Ozzie lied.
  14. CB or WR personally I hope its a WR because CB's at this point usually don't amount too much
  15. Everyone please calm down and read this: As an AFC North team, defense needs to come first, it just works that way. I'm about to go full honest here, I didn't think our defense was that good last year. The defensive woes were just covered up by the superiorly horrible offensive woes. Let's take a look at what the Front office has done this offseason, based on Ozzie's 3 big keys to the offseason: They added a playmaking yards after the catch guy in Steve Smith, they bulked up the interior of the offensive line with the Jeremy Zuttah trade (also locked up Eugene Monroe), they added a center-fielder in Terrence Brooks today, and they also added a playmaking tight end in Owen Daniels. The past two days they have done nothing but make our defense a strong dangerous force. Timmy Jernigan was supposed to be a first rounder, CJ Mosely is a leader and is known as a "quarterback of the defense" a face of a franchise who as a three down linebacker will make a big impact from the start. Crocket Gillmore can catch the ball if you watch his highlights, but he's also kind of like an offensive lineman as he can make big blocks and open up spaces on the field. I am not, and i repeat not comparing him to Jimmy Graham, just stating that they are the same size basically and I really believe this guy can develop into a star. Now a name I feel a lot of people have forgotten is Kyle Juscyk who is going to have a breakout season as a guy coming out from the backfield. Now tomorrow, the front office will look to add an offensive guard, a running back, a wide receiver, and a corner with our last four picks (backup qb can be found via free agency at this stage) and they will also most likely look to lock down our offensive line with the signing of Eric Winston who is more than capable of being the starting right tackle next season. Also, don't forget about the undrafted free agents, who as we can see with Marlon Brown last year, can truly make a difference for our team. Next season will be very exciting, and I hope this helps you guys see the clear picture the front office is sending us of an awesome playoff bound season this year.
  16. Please watch that and tell me how this is a bad pick? Honestly my dream was Odell Beckham Jr. or Mike Evans but those dreams were squashed pretty quickly and CJ Mosely is no bad consolation. In fact he's too good to be a consolation prize.
  17. Would putting Gradkowski at guard and Osemele at tackle be an option? Anyone know?
  18. According to Ian Rapoport, the Ravens back up plan if they can't land Monroe is to make a play at Alex Mack. Thoughts?
  19. Thanks for the explanation! I just hope that by retaining Monroe at a high salary will still leave us with some space to sign some of our other free agents as well as outside help.
  20. I have a quick question for someone: how is the cap hit determined? Let's say we sign Monroe for an $8 million/yr contract would the cap hit be 8 million or how do they determine the number?
  21. Only two options: 1. We re-sign Monroe. 2. We don't sign Monroe but we sign Alex Mack ONLY TWO OPTIONS!
  22. The reason I feel like the Receiver Ozzie was talking about is not from the draft is because he said the team needs and will have a guy who can make those key 3rd and long catches and get the yards after the catch and, to me, that sounds like he is talking about someone who has proven themselves in the NFL level and not a draft prospect whose NFL ability is still up in the air until the season actually starts. Anyone else agree with this and think we are targeting a receiver in FA or possibly by trade? I was pretty sure he said THE receiver meaning he knew the exact player versus a kind of player. But I'm probably wrong about that part.
  23. I saw an article on NFL.com talking about how Danny Amendola of the Patriots could possibly be a cap casualty for them this year seeing as how Julian Edelman, who cost way less, produced way more for them and Amendola greatly failed to live up to the expectations his contract set for him as a Wes Welker type of player. I know it sounds stupid to ask this as he had a pretty bad season, but would anybody be up for signing him if he became a casualty? And can anyone explain to me how much money would the team acquiring have to pay of his last contract or would it only be the Patriots paying him the money from the previous contract? He showed some flashes but he is very inconsistent both on the field and health wise. If he can find a way to improve on staying healthy though, he could pay off with a more appropriate contract.
  24. WHY DOES JOHN HARBAUGH GET SO MUCH HATE ON HERE? Please someone tell me what I missed the last 6 years that shows you he's a bad coach. Yes we just had an 8-8 season but we had a lot of new guys on the team and one play here or there and we would've been in the playoffs, that to me says there were more problems with the personnel (OLINEMEN) than with the coaching. Everyone chill out, and just wait until the next season to be mad at Harbaugh. Besides in two weeks the season will be over for everyone and its the start of a new one where the Ravens will win the AFC North. Just watch.
  25. Let's hope the fax machines are on our side again this off-season and help us get someone like a Larry Fitzgerald or a Demaryius Thomas ;)
