i completely agree with you. everyone out here in AZ is super stoked they got Veldheer, and no one ever even mentioned Monroe in the talks. then again, when you had Levi Brown as your starting LT, a bag of cheetos is an upgrade

I tend to think that Smith would be a very good person to learn from if we drafted Lee. Also, I think if we could get Ebron we have to pull the trigger. We would have 2 TE sets for the next 4-5 years that would be unstoppable.

I still think we should make a serious run at Mack now, and sign Eric Winston for RT. He knows Kubiak's system and loves Kubiak as a coach, he would be a perfect veteran guy to challenge any of our young guys, and should they not step up, he can start for us.

I think once/if we get Smith signed, it allows us to move forward with other signings. If we are serious about Mack, I see that happening next (because it has to if its going to happen), and relatively quickly, then we could add Winston or another cheap RT if need be. I think we save the last WR/TE2 for the draft, and Oz is probably resigned to FS in the draft as well.

With the transition tag applied to Alex Mack, is there a deadline for us to have offered a qualifying contract? If so, what is that deadline and would the contract have to offer more money this year, or long term? Also, does the transition tag require us to give up any picks?
