  1. Here's guessing he's released tomorrow .

Oh another desperate scapegoat move. Babin isn't the reason we suck and should be 0-5.

You don't let Torrey walk for 8 million more than the idiotic Pitta contract. Constantly signing secondary scrubs from other teams instead of letting young guys develope.

The offense isn't good either. I don't care if they put up 30 on the Browns without Haden. I've seen enough.

  2. That Ravens WOULD be 4-0 if SSS didn't drop a TD or if Joe didn't throw that pick 6 in Denver, or if we could've got a 4th qtr stop against either Cinci or Oakland, and didn't let AJ Green beat us over the top for another 4th qtr TD.

Who cares about what would have happened if this or if that. We are 1-3 with 2 winnable games ahead of us. We've taken 2 undefeated teams to the wire and had 4th qtr leads against both and arguably should've won both.

The defense is improving, and if the run game continues to do what it did against Pitt, and we can grab a couple wins to stay afloat until SSS gets back in a week or 2 we're right in the mix when Perriman and Urban should be returning and potentially Pitta as well. Don't forget about Gillmore either.

Urban will help the pass rush a ton, and Perriman will open up the offense. Givens should give us another deep threat and versatile weapon. Gillmore and a Pitta return would give us arguably the deepest and most talented TE group in the league and a TON of scheme flexibility on offense.

If were in the mix when we finally get healthy this team WILL be the hottest team in the league leading up to the playoffs. The only question in my eyes is whether or not we've dug too deep a hole before then.

We were lucky to be close at the end in the Bengals' game. Mosley TD/a lucky Jimmy INT.

Every year you can look at a lot of teams that barely missed the playoffs and they often lost by a TD or less. Go back to our previous seasons and there's lots or games that we nearly lost. That's what seperates good and average teams. Most thought we would get an easy win against the Ben-less Steelers, but we should have lost to a Vick lead Steeler's team even though we rushed for 150 yards.

Now were missing SSS and Camp. I knew going into this stretch we'd get fat off some bad teams and we'd feel like we're good. We will get blown out vs the Browns.

  3. Castillo is a ZBS coach, and everybody in the world knows that. If we went away from it this season, that would be Trestman's influence.

I clearly said "Kubiak's" ZBS. If you think Castillo is running the same exact scheme as Kubiak then I don't know what to tell you other than that you're wrong.  Besides what Castillo ran in 2013 looked nothing like Kubiak's ZBS scheme.

  4. The Ravens didn't go away from the ZBS at any point this season. Imo less informed fans make this statement because things look diffefent then last year. There is more then one way to run a ZBS. Kubiak focuses more in an stretch/outside zbs which is why it's almost impossible to run the ball from shotgun in his offense.

Castillo and Trestman focus on inside zone. There is more traps and pulling which will look like man blocking at times but still ZBS.

Imo Kubes way of doing things was a lot easier for the oline because you basically just get the entire defense flowing in one direction and just seal off the backside for the cutback. Castillo and Trestman are asking the guys to use their athleticism far more to cut guys off, get to your spot and get them on the ground. It really has exposed the oline a bit, mainly the OTs Against Pit they got back to more of the stretch zone and they did well. I think the oline will be fine, it's just adjusting to a different style imo.

It's not adjusting to different styles. Kubiak's ZBS turned a below average run blocking O-line into one of the best last year. Our O-line was ranked in the mid 20s (now 19) after the Steeler's game scheme change. We need the running game to dominate to win games. Ogden himself said Castillo has our O-line conveted back to more man blocking when he visited them. Your whole "less informed fans" means nothing when we're obviously refering to Kubiak's scheme and how we've defiated from it. Whether Castillo uses a different type of ZBS is completely irrelevent. The point still stands that it IS different, and only a few of us have pointed out that Castillo is not running what Kubiak ran.

And Harbaugh DID change it back because he was desperate to not go 0-4. Our O-line will dominate the Browns with the new scheme change. I was right that it needed to be done. Harbaugh agreed. I didn't see you anywhere saying there was a change and that it needed to be corrected. I was the only one on the forum demanding it. It's all on the, "apologize to Castillo" thread. I deserve a badge. Forsett will rush for 125 yards against Browns

It's like me saying these cookies taste like crap compared to before and the recipe was changed, and then you come along saying but they're still cookies, just a different variation.

  5. our run game was awful the first 3 weeks, i dont see how 1 performance suddenly means the problems are fixed. how can we just so easily spread the ball if we are throwing to kamar aiken and marlon brown? how do we have any clue that givens is gonna be the deep threat we have been looking for when he hasnt even suited up for us and hasnt done ANYTHING notable in the nfl? the defense "played well" but we wouldnt be singing that same tune if roethlisberger was playing, you can bank on that, and mccown has given us fits in the past and is a much better qb than vick at this point.

i also see you saying quite often that now that we got a win under our belts the team is just gonna rally and feed off of that win, i dont see it. it took us 5 quarters to beat a team without the player that DEFINES who they are, and we won because they quite literally did everything in their power to make sure we won, and throughout all of this we lost our only 2 competent wide receivers. i dont think a team with as many problems as ours can just rally off of one win, momentum is somewhat of a myth, if momentum was real then trap games wouldnt be a thing. it was one incomplete team capitalizing on one of the thousand mistakes that another incomplete team made, and will have no effect on our future performances. i need to see an actual good performance from the ravens before im ready to crown them as anything other than a 1-3 team who has no identity and lacks talent.

The run game absolutely dominated the Steeler's D-line and it's not like the Steeler's Dline is bad against the run. Forsett had over 5 ypc and 150 yards. The O-line looked like last years with great ZBS blocking. Harbaugh clearly made Castillo switch it back to Kubiak's ZBS. We have the same players as last on the O-line so theres no reason they can't play like last years.

  6. Im so excited for this game. I know i sound crazy but I'm serious. I'm the type of person that when others see doom and gloom i see tremendous opportunity and that's exactly what i see with this game for the Ravens. Being uncomfortable is the best way to stretch your potential and grow. Both Flacco and Trestman have been getting away with riding SSR hard and other guys have suffered in their development in this offense. Now I'm not saying they have been wrong for featuring SSR, not not having him will force Trestman and Joe to sharpen up and really start to callbplays designed to get these young guys involved more.

The oline simplified the ZBS against the Steelers and it worked great. Let's see if it's a permanent adjustment. I'd expect the Brown to attack this oline until Flacco shows he can move the ball in the passing game. Because of that i expect Trestman to come out and run a uptempo spread offense and focus on attacking with the TEs.

On defense i love the energy the defense played with and even though Bell rushed for a lot of yards, i'd definitely be happy with the same type of performance vs the Brown. What concerns me about the team so far this year is that the offense hasn't gotten a half time lead yet. With the way the defense seems to be operating they need to be able to play with a lead and make a couple key stops per game. They aren't gonna shut offenses down like defenses of old. But I'd love to see them play with an early lead. In every game thus far the defense have made key stops but it just wasn't enough in the first 3 games.

I think the Ravens have a huge opportunity this week. If they can play well in this game, it may allow SSR to rest another week against a poor 49ers team and come back against AZ. But the team has to play well enough to instill that confidence in the coaches not to rush SSR back. Play well at home and then go out west with opportunity to get above 500 coming back home before the bye. But obviously it's one game at a time and this game should be seen as a huge opportunity by the players.

Why do you keep refering to SSS as SSR? Retired?
