I can't stop watching the touchdown catch and run by Perriman. The great call to have him run a drag route and everyone else clear out the space, then just the pure speed by Perriman to blow everyone else away. That's some exciting offense

I don't know why I like this so much, but one overlooked thing from the game: On Tavon Young's return of the extra point, the first 2 guys to chase him down in the end zone were Judon and Canady. It's such a grind and the season is such a grueling process I just really enjoyed seeing two other rookies chase after a fellow rookie to congratulate him on a big play. Probably making something out of nothing, it was just fun to see 3 guys drafted together support each other like that on the field

Nice to see the defense generate some turnovers, now if the offense can just prevent their own...

Funny, I was just reading an article about LSU and how their offense has looked "stale and unpredictable" with Cam Cameron. I know where i've heard that before. But back on topic, my number one reason for believing the offense will be better this year is continuity. I am not here arguing Flacco is as good as Brady (except when they play each other in the playoffs) or Rogers or Manning, but all of them have been in the same system for a major part of their career. It's not secret that not having to constantly adjust to a new scheme helps players with comfort and execution. We will see if some long awaited continuity helps the offense as a whole, but I believe it will.

I think this is even understated. The Ravens had TWO 14-point leads IN Foxboro with a secondary full of guys off the street. New England beat the Colts like 45-10 or something. I think the Ravens could have beaten the Colts had they beat New England, Flacco was playing great again. The Ravens weren't too far removed from making two super bowls in 3 years. I agree the front office has had a few struggles since 2012 but its amazing how close they were to getting back to the super bowl just 2 years later.

I think they're completely unrelated though. When looking at it, is Butler going to get snaps over SSS -No; Aiken - No. Wallace has proved in the preseason that he is much more than a 9 route one trick pony. That's on top of our tight ends and check downs to running backs (which Allen and Dixon have proven they can certainly have a lot of catches). Then Butler is obviously not getting snaps over Perriman and I would argue even Moore because Moore has much greater speed and showed some real potential with decent shorter routes in the pre-season. Butler performed, that's very true. And if there is a big injury it would be great to have him. I just don't see a spot for him

The average age of the Ravens is 26.4 years old. Players older than that include Flacco and Yanda, who I am sure most would argue have at least a few more good years ahead of them. Steve Smith will be gone next year. If Boyle and Waller come back to the team after their suspensions both are younger than 26. If you want to argue that Ravens don't have a ton of the huge impact players under 26 we are used to, that argument can be made. But I think it's a stretch to say the Ravens are old. Bringing on Hester doesn't suddenly make the Ravens old.

Honestly Allen didn't run great this preseason but neither did Forsett. Allen is the better pass catcher and more elusive at his age in space than Forsett. That being said, I'm still shocked

Also could the Ravens just start Elam on the PUP list so that he wouldn't take up a roster spot?

Isn't there a rule where you must designate the player as put on the IR with the designation to return when you put them on the IR. I am not sure if you can place a player on the IR and designate them to return later

I hope so. I know Flacco got hurt last year but it was kind of a more freak thing with Hurst rolling into him. If Flacco gets hurt for an extended period of time, the Ravens chances are significantly decreased anyway. I just don't see a reason to keep a third quarterback to take a spot from someone else unless the coaches feel Johnson is one of the best 53 and one of the best fits for the 53

Football is just so interesting because there's no real viable "minor league". Baseball is obvious, theres tons of leagues in Hockey, and Basketball there's the D-league and so many European leagues where guys get drafted from. It would be nice to see more guys have a chance to develop for a year or two in an NFL setting

Being near Philly and listening to their sports radio (which is some great entertainment by the way) I agree 100% with this statement. A lot of the Philly sports guys were going through the Eagles roster and saying they can't think of any people they're disappointed that got cut. The fact we even have threads like this and that there's this much debate only speaks to the depth the Ravens were able to get this year.
