  1. If the Raiders want to spend almost 12 mil. on a Guard. They resigned their LT Donald Penn. Ravens offered him more than Yanda from what I understand. Hated to see him go. He was one of my favorite picks from that draft. Every year there's a team with a ton of cap space and holes to fill. Raiders have spent a lot but filled some needs. Can't blame KO for taking the offer, but no need to rub it in. Ogden was very well compensated through out his career in Baltimore.

  2. I don't know why everyone is so down on Monroe. In Jacksonville he was an above average LT. We trade for him, and his first year here he played above average. We signed him to a multi year deal. Was it a little high, yes. But that was he market. Since then he has had some injuries that kept him out, but when he plays, he's solid. People act like he's a bum when he plays and that's not accurate. If we cut him, your looking at like 6 million in dead money, after June 1st you can split it, 2 this year and 4 next year (numbers aren't exact), but that's a lot. Because don't forget, Pitta will be cut after June 1st so that's 4.4 million in dead money next year. If you cut Monroe too, that's over 8 million in dead money next year between those two. That's unacceptable. The best move is to keep Monroe and hope he stays healthy and turns in a solid year like he did in 2013. If he doesn't, then you can cut him next year.

I have to agree. Here's hoping Monroe stays healthy. He's better than Hurst at LT. I do see the Ravens drafting a Tackle or two in this draft. I just hope they don't take Stanley with their first pick. With KO gone, it's even more possible though. If they do take Stanley, I hope he's a day one starter and a stud for years to come.

  3. Watson was my favorite FA pick up out of the three. Very good TE and even better character. I think Pitta's career is over. Gilmore will be returning from injury and Boyle is suspended for ten games. Even though Maxx Williams was my favorite pick, this guy should mentor him well. I think Maxx will be another Todd Heap or better. He's the youngest Raven I believe. Let's not forget that Waller is moving to TE. I don't think that Steve Smith will play at the same pace for over 1200 yards, but I don't see why he doesn't have another 1000 yard season. If Watson can get 800 yards along with Maxx maybe getting between 300-400. And if Wallace can get between 600-800, I think he was worth the price. Aiken should still be able to add 600-800 and that's not all of the WR's and RB's. Flacco should throw for 4000 easily in Trestman's second year as OC.

  4. I don't see the Ravens taking Treadwell. Even though this is Smith Sr.'s last year, they have Aiken, Marlon Brown, Wallace, Perriman, Campanaro, Juice, Forsett, Buck Allen, Taliafero, West, Watson, Maxx, Gilmore(when he's healthy), and Boyle(after 10 game suspension). With nine picks, Ravens will probably take a WR or RB with one or two of them. They have four 4th round picks including an early and a late and early and late comp picks. If Treadwell is still on the board at #15, I think the Rams take him. Big physical receiver with good hands. Not a burner but a chain mover. Perfect fit to go with that defense, especially after taking Gurley last year. Sounds like a Jeff Fischer move to me. To go with whoever they have at QB, maybe drafting one of these guys in the 2nd round. Speaking of Gurley, he was probably the best player taken in the draft and should have gone earlier. With that being said, Elliott is another RB that has moved up the boards. There's talk of him getting picked at #4 by the Cowboys. Which leaves Ramsey, Bosa, Myles Jack, Buckner, and Hargreaves most likely with three of the picks. Ramsey won't make it past the Jaguars. That leaves the other four with two of the picks. And it's even possible for the Chargers to take Stanley off the board, but I don't see that happening.

  5. I love what the Ravens did in FA. Watson, Weddle, and Wallace. Perfect. OL isn't as big of a priority as defense. Don't want the Ravens taking Stanley with their first pick. They can pick up an OL in the 2nd or 3rd round. Even CB isn't that big of a need. Ravens need ILB badly and an OLB and DE. Most likely the Titans are taking Tunsil with their first pick. If the Browns take a QB, that leaves Bosa, Ramsey, Myles Jack, Buckner, and Hargreaves. I think Ramsey will be gone in the top five. That leaves Jack, Bosa, Buckner and Hargreaves with the next three picks. Some of the best players in last years draft were CB's. Marcus Peters won DROY. I'm fine with taking a CB that early. Hargreaves is a top ten pick. Ramsey's athleticism and football prowess are off the charts. But Hargreaves was excellent also. I think Buckner is a better fit than Bosa. Ravens might even be able to move back a few spaces and get another LB or DL or Hargreaves and obtain another 2nd or 3rd round pick. Darren Lee and Ragland come to mind. Daryl Smith is gone and this is a make or break year for both Elam and Arthur Brown. Weddle at FS. Webb at CB/FS. Elam at SS where he belongs. Upshaw is a question mark. And need Suggs replacement although Zadarius Smith should fill that role. Sua Cravens is an option in the 2nd round even though he's small for a LB can play safety. I'm hoping for Myles Jack to be playing next to Mosley.

  6. Don't let the 5-11 record fool you. Steelers and Patriots picked up a TE in FA. Trying to keep up? The Bengals have a solid roster, but the loss of Hue Jackson and two WR's in FA is huge. I still say the McCarron pick in the 5th round was the steal of the draft in 2014. Especially since quite a few of these teams can't seem to find a QB and the Browns are starting from scratch again ALREADY. And I thought that La'el Collins was the steal last year. I thought he was the best OL in the draft and Cowboys got him as UDFA.

  7. I love what the Ravens are doing. Of course you hear about teams like the Raiders and jaguars in FA with a ton of cap room to spend. Losing KO was huge but the Ravens offered him good Guard money to stay. IMO the Raiders overspent but got a solid player for the bucks. And they resigned Donald Penn. But the Ravens FO did a great job and always get value for their dollar. Ben Watson was the perfect FA to add after Boyle was suspended and Gilmore is hurt. And the head scratcher was signing Weddle. Did they because they knew Hill was being suspended again? Excellent move. And then Wallace was a more reward than risk signing and a nice addition to Smith Sr. and Kamar Aiken, especially if Perriman sees the field or doesn't. And then giving Aiken a second round tender which is a total bargain after what he did in 2015. A team has to offer more money and a second round pick in compensation. Beautiful work guys.

  8. For starters the Ravens had four QB's on the roster. Say goodbye to pick six Schaub and Clausen. Maturity was an issue for Mallett not talent. I thought he stepped up to the plate after burning some bridges. Need to draft a pass rusher whether it be DL or LB. Or a CB with the 1st pick but unlikely at #7. Even though Marcus Peters might have been the best defensive player taken in 2015. Or a stud LT. Don't know if Suggs will be back. He isn't the same mentally when Ngata left. And I don't see Pitta returning but Maxx Williams is young and was my favorite pick in 2015. I can see Perriman taking the field this season. Ravens secondary actually played admirably down the stretch. Too many safeties, especially with Webb probably transitioning to that position. Which leaves Jimmy Smith and whoever at CB.

  9. I think they can and will make the playoffs. I don't expect the rash of injuries, penalties to become them next season. The refs were horrible, especially against the Ravens. But all teams have bad calls, good teams overcome them. Ravens were practically in every game and were playing respectably down the stretch even after it seemed a key player was going down on a weekly basis. This team is battle tested and Harbaugh is one of the best head coaches in the league. Let's not forget about that horrible 1st half schedule. I think they can turn it totally around. 11-5 instead of 5-11. I was right though. I said the Ravens would sweep the Squeelers.

  10. As a lover of football and a homer I agree with this article I mean there not saying he is a bad quarterback there just saying he is not a quarterback during the regular season that can carry a team.

What do you call 2013? Ravens almost went to the playoffs. Probably would have if Joe didn't take a helmet to the knee. If that's not carrying an anemic offense then what is? Don't even tell me someone like Brady could have. I don't believe that for a second.

  11. Ogden is in the hall and considered one of the greatest. The same with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed who are locks. I said Joe would be another. And to think of the potential for some of these other young players. I already have a feeling CJ Mosely is going to the hall. My prediction-he passes Ray Lewis in career interceptions. Not to mention guys like Timmy Jernigan and Maxx Williams among others. The potential is there. Even a good chance Suggs, Doom, and Ngata make the hall. I'm expecting wonderful things for the next few years.

  12. I've seen flashes his rookie year. I wonder if breaking James Jones' leg went to his head. Not all football players are out to hurt the opponent. Not to mention the mess he had to play in last year. Did anyone stand out? Ravens secondary looks much improved and I think Elam will be also. Continuity can be a wonderful thing. There was none of that last year in the Ravens secondary.
