I don't know who most of these "Draftniks" are but if Tunsil is there at 6 you will see us running to the podium. If there is one thing we know about mock drafts it's that they are always wrong. I'm still hoping someone will trade up to pick a second QB ahead of us. SD could also surprise and take a OT. That could make 2 OT and 2 QB's taken ahead of us. Wishful thinking

Some mocks just shout "Look, I'm different than most mocks!" There was one about 2 weeks ago wihich had Tunsil taken at #11...

Really? I seen some bad ones.

Yeah, I was like, "wait, what?"  there's no way Tunsil slides to 6. I swear I should get paid for my mock, it can't be any worse than these "draftniks"!

I mean it is very unlikely, but outside of Tennesee and maybe SD, I think that the rest are taking the top defensive players. It would be a gift from God. It is possible that Tennessee takes Bosa, Cleveland takes Wentz, San Diego takes Ramsey, Dallas takes Jack, and Jacksonville takes Buckner or Hargreaves. It will all depend on whether the Titans think their young lineman will develop to be good starters or not.

Tunsil won't make it past the Chargers.

  3. Stop with the Ronnie Stanley bandwagon. he has the physical traits of a #6 pick but not the skill level you want to see. Sure you can coach him along and he will develop some but for a #6 pick you don't pick players that are going to need time adjusting. You look for an immediate contributor, which just means they can become a valuable piece of the puzzle from day 1. That does not necessarily mean instant starter status. Drafting Stanley would likely mean he sits behind Monroe anyways so I really fail to see how using the #6 pick is advantageous, when there is solid LT's available later int he draft.

    Thank you

  4. Out of all of them I think the people from PFF deserve the most praise as they truly understand player's value and what teams should need the most as far as upgrading a certain position. The thought of getting Tunsil makes me far more excited than Stanley. I think the forums are divided on picking Stanley at 6, but let's look at it this way. Stanley is a good prospect and has the ability to develop into a great Tackle, but the same could be said about others that are going later in the round and into the second. His lack of strength and the rumors of him not loving the game of football make you question his ability to develop as well. But if we we're set on taking him then I'd hope we would move back 3-5 spots and find a way to get an additional pick or move up in another round. Protecting Flacco is a huge priority, but this is a rare opportunity for us and we cannot look back and say, well we passed on Bosa, Buckner, or Jack, whom I suspect will be pro bowls are instant stars. But time will tell...

Took the words outta my mouth

  5. Tunsil is not going to be there guys, Titans got him for sure. Now they should go after a defensive talent first and then find a guard later in the draft (Monroe can play LT for this year). If they draft Stanley as the # 6 pick then they are going to miss all of those defensive talents and Ozzie gonna regret it again. They need to go after Bosa, Buckner, Ramsey, etc with thier pick.

    Agreed

  6. I don't know if l'm explain this right but why are players are going to other teams signing big contracts and then they know that they won't get the full amount and get cut 2-3 years from now because of cap numbers or underperforming? For ex K.O. got 5 year 60M right; is the Raiders going pay the entire 60M to K.O and stay for 5 years. Or cut him 2 or 3 years, waste K.O. time, and should've stay in Batimore with money and full amount of time. Players should be just staying with thier team with a little less than going somewhere else thinking they would have the full cash amount and then get cut 2-3 years. I'll bet the Dolphins will cut Suh eventually because his cap number and Suh should've stay in Detriot. I hope that make sense. I don't know if I'm making sense LOL. :-)

Are you rich. A few million dollars isn't a little less.

  7. no doubt Jack is a game changer, but as many times that we have been burned by players coming off an injury ( see B Urban , Cody, Kindle, , K Lewis -Moore
M campanaro )I don't think its a good pick at #6. D. Buckner or J Bosa would be ideal choices IMO

Cody is a bum. Kindle was hurt falling down steps. Urban and Lewis-Moore look like they're ready to play football. Campanaro was a 6th round pick. Jack is a prototypical football player. Just like Gurley.

If they're still still interested in Mike Wallace and actually pull off signing him, this could be a special year for Flacco which means it would be special year for us as a team.I'm hoping they find a competent CB and WR in FA so that we can draft Myles Jack in the first round.Short passes to running backs hurt us last year and we need a ILB with speed that can cover RB's.

I think we should hold off on Myles Jack till after his pro day next week. he's coming off a bad Knee injury.

I know what you mean.I've been thinking the same thing about him.I'm not really gung ho about any specific player yet.I've changed my mind about who I think we should draft plenty of times since the end of the season and depending on what happens at that pro day I might change it again.I've been watching alot of Buckner's games lately and the idea of drafting him has been starting to grow on me.What are your thought's on him?

I like Buckner. Ravens almost won a SB in 2014 when Suggs was healthy and the rush was getting there. Even with a depleted secondary. Imagine adding Buckner along with Brandon Williams, Timmy Jernigan, Carl Davis, a healthy Brent Urban and Suggs along with Dumervil. I think Upshaw signs with the Ravens.

I see this as the year that the Ravens finally get that starter in the first round that clearly is a talent that we can't afford to pass on.  That said, I would prioritize the needs and BPA to fit the player that is available.  It would be tough to pass on someone like Buckner or Bosa.

The issue with taking Buckner or Bosa is that unless the backend is really that secured, pass rush won't get there in time, as evidenced by last season. Overall the coverage ability of the defense needs improvement. That's where a CB or solid coverage LB'er would go much further. IMHO the middle of the field is now the biggest area of concern. Those short passes are hard to get to the QB on when the coverage isn't tight enough. I'll be fine with whoever they pick, I don't think they can really get this that wrong given their history. Still bring in Jack and draft some CB talent later on. Ravens D-front is already very stout. There is also the reality that Urban and Lewis Moore get to see some substantial play this year.

Nice to see Lewis-Moore step up. And Urban finally on the field and play well. Don't forget Guy. Still need a DE, especially after Canty departure. Ravens DL is solid, especially at DT, but still need a little depth. Ravens definitely need to fill the LB position.

  10. I would love for them to pick up Werner. Literally no risk in picking up his contract, since it's a rookie deal with no guaranteed money and little base salary. He should be a 4-3 DE, but I'm sure we can find a spot for him (just not at OLB, since that is where he struggled). I liked his power coming out of FSU.

It's possible but unlikely. 1st round pick that never panned out? Sounds like the Colts problem.

  11. Teryl Austin took Ihedigbo with him in 2014. Good move after losing Dennis Pitta for the season in practice. Webb started the season hurt. Jimmy Smith had a foot injury later keeping Bernard out of the end zone at the one yard line. Chykie Brown was next on the depth chart and nothing else at CB. It followed into 2015. Jimmy Smith was coming off a foot injury. Ravens took Tray Walker in the 4th round. RIP.

  12. NICE.... I am glad to have Arrington back. I think he is better then he played... but then again... NO DB's play well under Pees. I am hoping that Leslie Frazier makes a difference... and if he does... I think that Arrington has the talent to help out and help out tremendously! Glad he is back!

Pees is not the DB coach. Secondary went to crap after Reed and Pollard left. Teryl Austin went to be Detroit's DC. Jimmy Smith and Webb were hurt. Elam was playing CB. DB's were actually playing well towards the end of 2015 season.
