  1. Everyone hates on Upshaw because he never developed into a pass rusher, but he is a smart player that is an elite run stuffer and edge setter. I doubt he will command big money. Ozzie is probably banking on smith to fill his shoes, but I'd like Upshaw back to give us some toughness. Just ask fellow AFC North players what it is like to block Upshaw. Just ask fellow AFCN players what it's like to be hit. Go ask Ben and Leveon Bell.
  2. I'm sure Ozzie wants to sign him. Overpaying is a different story. They offered KO good money but the Raiders overspent. Why am I hearing the Colts? Are they the most over-rated playoff team year after year. Even when they had Manning. Now they have a busted QB they need to sign and have done nothing in the draft. I was so glad Jim Irsay's bum daddy moved the Colts out of Baltimore.
  3. I thought the Watson signing was excellent. And then to sign Weddle and Wallace. Placing a second round tender on Aiken was brilliant. I hope he gets paid. He deserves it.
  4. It all starts at the top. Much credit to Steve Bisciotti. I was so glad he was the Ravens owner after Modell departed.
  5. As much as I liked Ngata, I have to agree. Still love what Ngata did for the Ravens. Big part of 2012 SB run.
  6. I like the Ravens at 40/1
  7. Imagine if the board went Jack or Ramsey, Buckner, Elliott, Bosa. They're most likely taking Tunsil.
  8. Cowboys have picked before the Ravens. I wanted Zack Martin in 2014 and Cowboys got him on a coin flip. Ravens did get Mosley though. Last year the Cowboys took CB Byron Jones right after the Ravens took Perriman. I've been hearing Elliot linked to the Cowboys. Fine with me. Myles Jack could still be on the board, unless the Browns don't draft a QB. Ravens need LB's. I'm also fine with Sua Cravens in the 2nd round. Too small for a LB but could play at Safety. Besides Weddle, what do the Ravens have? Especially at SS. Elam? Ravens have Arthur Brown at ILB now. Upshaw? If he leaves, at least the Ravens will get a 3rd round comp pick.
  9. I think Ramsey, Jack, and Hargreaves are going to be exceptional football players.
  10. Ravens had a lousy draft in 2000. Jamal Lewis. They did get Adalius Thomas in the 6th round. Patriots got Brady with a 6th round comp pick. No wonder they were rebuilding after winning a SB in 2000. Live and learn.
  11. Ravens drafted Jamal Lewis with the 5th pick in 2000. We all saw how that worked out. He was a major reason the Ravens won a SB. Not just the defense.
  12. I like your thinking. Especially after the draft board they just showed where no QB was taken. That would leave the Ravens taking Hargreaves or possibly reaching for a LB or DL. They would practically be stuck drafting OL. I guess that isn't a bad thing. There's been rumors of the Cowboys taking Zeke Elliott. I haven't seen them make any moves in FA for one. Gurley proved he was probably the best player in the draft.
  13. Checking out teams rosters and deciding what positions need to be filled and deciding which prospects are the right fit is a full time job.
  14. If the Ravens can add a couple of guys in the trenches on offense and defense, including taking a few LB's one early. I would feel better if they drafted a safety and CB also. Maybe another RB with a 4th round comp pick. They're definitely in the big picture.
  15. I love being right. I was right about KO and Upshaw. I said KO would make the pro bowl. Being one of the best is good enough for me. I liked the Buck Allen pick after taking Taliafero. I was right about Kubiak and bringing Forsett and Daniels with him. I still think Elam and Arthur Brown can be productive. I was right about the OL depth in 2013 after the Ravens won a SB. I was right about the CB depth in 2014 when I saw Chykie Brown 3rd on the depth chart and only four CB's. And the Ravens still almost won a SB with a healthy Suggs and good OC and good OL. I loved it when they signed Boldin and Jacoby Jones. I loved when they signed Derrick Mason. And I loved it when they signed Steve Smith. I liked Torrey Smith but knew he wasn't worth #1 WR money. I was even right about Ray Rice and his wife spitting on him.
  16. Old and overpaid on both sides of the ball? Do you know how contradictory that sounds after saying bringing in unproven players and giving the money to KO? Pitta's career is over. Maxx is very young. Gilmore is recovering. And Boyle is suspended. I think Maxx is going to be a stud but too soon yet. Bringing in Watson was excellent. Even at 35 he's a very good TE and even higher character. Ravens find out Will Hill is suspended again. Cut and in comes Weddle, excellent move. He was one of the top FA's on the market and didn't overspend to get him. Perriman was hurt last year but should play this season. In comes Wallace. Now the Ravens have dual deep threats which is what Wallace was when the Dolphins overpaid him with their weak armed QB. I like it. Let's not forget the second round tender the Ravens gave ERFA Aiken. Brilliant. Ravens FO killed it and haven't even drafted yet. They have nine picks. Early 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, including three late 4th round picks. This draft is loaded on defense. Let's go win a SB.
  17. I don't blame you
  18. I love it. Bringing Watson, Weddle, and Wallace in was excellent moves. So was giving Aiken a second round tender. Brilliant. Losing KO was huge though. Big moment for Monroe to make this work.
  19. Hate to see him go but can't blame him. NFL is a business. Raiders forked out a boatload and got a good football player. Nothing liking plucking another teams player to weaken them and strengthen your team. But I've heard some cry about the compensatory picks. It's there for a reason. Just like the salary cap.
  20. 23 years young. All I could think about last night is all he wanted to do is play football. He finally made some money to get that dirt bike he always wanted. All he wanted to do was play football and ride his dirt bike. It made me cry.
  21. Spriggs moves really well. He just might not be a divisional fit as physicality plays a huge factor. I was thinking of Spriggs also. This is a Mark Trestman offense now. I like his athleticism for an OL. There's a good chance that five OL could be off the board in the 1st round. I imagine he'll be one of them. Or even an early 2nd round pick before the Ravens.
  22. This is a make or break year for Elam and Arthur Brown.
  23. Upshaw isn't worth the money. Zadarius will be on the field a lot more next year. He already shows a ton of promise in his brief playing time. I liked the Upshaw pick as much as the KO pick and I was right. Upshaw isn't a three down LB but he's been solid. He's come up with some nice plays in big games for the Ravens. Big OLB's that hit like a truck don't fall off trees. With that being said, if he does bolt for the Jets or Colts? Ravens should be able to get a 3rd round comp pick for KO. I think they draft a few LB's with nine picks. ILB is their biggest need IMO. OLB is another, especially wondering how longer Suggs is going to play and the loss of Upshaw? DE and OT. Ravens only have seven DL and one is a practice squad player. Ravens should be able to find an OT in the 2nd round like they found KO. Or maybe even 3rd or 4th rounds. Ravens have four 4th round picks. Usually you find players that will contribute in the first four rounds, even if it's just to provide depth. You hope you get lucky in rounds five through seven. Arthur Brown should see the field this year with the departure of Daryl Smith.
  24. I would love this move, but I think he will be gone by 6 Or maybe not. Titans will almost definitely draft Tunsil. Very possible and smart move if the Browns draft a QB. Rumor has it the Cowboys might take Zeke Elliott. He's been climbing up draft boards. Especially after what Gurley proved that he should have been drafted earlier. I don't think the Cowboys have made any moves as far as bringing in a RB. That leaves Ramsey, who I think doesn't make it past the Jaguars. I think the Chargers take him. Bosa, Buckner, Jack, and Hargreaves with two other picks before the Ravens. It's even possible for the Chargers to draft OL. I don't like to take a CB that early and don't feel it's a big need as some people. But Hargreaves is a top ten pick and I think he's going to be a shut down CB.
