  1. As history will show: At 36 SSS faced-off with the premiere shout-down corner in the last 5 years (Revis) and won the match-up in a critical play-off game. Although the Ravens didn't get a victory that day, SSS definitively showed that "Age ain't nothing but a number...". I can't imagine a Ravens team without Steve now since and before he arrived. He just fits. I've always thought that when I lived in Carolina (temporarily). He's Purple and Black. If he can give us a few more season - I'm truly appreciative and I believe he will. I've never seen a WR so fit at his age since Jerry Rice. Keep - keepin-on S3. Let's get him that Super Bowl Ring that he was robbed-of. GO Ravens!
  2. Agreed (and not just me). Even 50% of die-hard Steeler fans hate those 'Bubble Bee' uniforms'. Sales are not...so good. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/10/27/10-most-obvious-twitter-reactions-to-pittsburgh-steelers-bumble-bee-uniforms/ Where did this dude get his sense of tatse?
  3. Absolutely greed. That particular reporter needs to do more homework or at less talk to some of the guys in the cubicles around him... 2015 Offseason Team Grade: Where ESPN (one reporter) Got It Wrong When you assess 'Off-season Team Rankings and Grades' you have to look at the 'Team Power Rankings' before the off-season started and where they are now. When looking at the 'Top 10' teams, it's obvious to see that no team has gained more respect and growth based on this. Walter Football Power Ranking: Ravens 2nd (up 1 from late off-season) http://walterfootball.com/nflpowerrankings.php Fox Sports Power Ranking: Ravens 5th (up 4 from early off-season) http://www.foxsports.com/nfl/power-rankings ESPN Power Ranking: Ravens 7th (up 4 from early off-season) http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings Additional Power Rankings Before and Currently: SBNation Ranking: Ravens 6th (up 3 from early off-season)CBS Sports Ranking: Ravens 6th (up 4 from early off-season)USAToday Ranking: Ravens 5th (up 3 from early off-season)ESPN Ranking: Ravens 7th (up 4 from early off-season) The Ravens have averaged plus 3.5 Power Ranking positions on every poll and have done it with one of the worst cap spaces going into the off-season, ever. That said, how is it even possible for one ESPN analyst to rank the Ravens 'B-' for this off-season work when every other ranking (including their own Power Ranking) puts us as the 'most' projectively, improved team off-season? Answer: It's beyond rationality. At the end of the day, the Ravens not only out-resourced the AFC North this off-season, but out-ranked the entire league as far as 'projected elevated growth and rankings' goes the off-season.

  5. Checkmate? The Kyle Arrington and Maxx Williams moves, early 'AFCN Favorites' votes, top draft class votes, Perriman included in prospective “Offensive Rookie of the Year”, etc. There's no doubt that our FO pulled a major miracle off-season with an extremely limited cap-space and losing pro-bowlers. YES!!! Check-mate!!! In Oz we trust. GO Ravens!!!
  6. Agreed. Now as far as Brady and Pats fans are concerned... NFLPA Brady's Appeal Argument to Goodell: "What gives you the right to be judge, jury and executioner during this appeal?" Goodell answers: "You did when you made that concession during negotiations, all the owners and the personal conduct contracts that all players sign." NFLPA to Brady: "He's got a point. Nothing to see here." Brady's Legal Team Argument to Civil Court Judge: "What gave them right to be judge, jury and executioner during that appeal?" Judge directly to Brady: "This is not like crying about a legal hit to intimidate a ref to make a call in a game, son or trying to kick a player (you know where) to get him to respond in retaliation to get a call." - pause - "Grow-up, man-up and fess-up. It will make it better for everyone involved. Play-out the rest of your career with some dignity, son. Case closed."
  7. Say it ain't so. I can't see the 'end game' here. Goodell caves now and loses all credibility. Kraft submits to the league and loses all his political capital and respect. If each reach a consensus - they both lose capital, respect and credibility from other owners, fans and on-lookers. Solution: Brady needs to come clean.
  8. Great poll. Really makes you think. Forsett set the bar pretty high last season with the ProBowl nod no one saw coming. When looking at the choices I think the D-linemen (Jarnigan & Williams) listed will have standout seasons, but alot of it will be taking-out blockers and creating holes for D. Smith and CJ Mosely. Standouts yes, but maybe not Breakout ProBowl-ish. My 'Breakout' vote goes to Marlon Brown for just a ProBowl-ish like season, but Smith Sr. will most likely make the ProBowl this season. That said, if we get any 3 of these guys on the list to have 'Breakout' seasons (very possible)...watchout. We'll be Super Bowl bound.
  9. Absolutely agreed. "Plus, it's always cool to give Ozzie & crew their propers." Gotta' appreciate the intense attention to details, long-hours and workload that they put in year in and year out.
  10. AFCN: Who Got Stronger Offensively and Defensively This Offseason? According to separate analysis by Ravens, Browns and Bengals reporters...Baltimore did the better job. http://espn.go.com/blog/cincinnati-bengals/post/_/id/17164/afc-north-roundtable-steelers-bengals-browns-ravens-quarterbacks-help-offseason When it comes down to the defenses (not reported in the article above), I would say that the 'key' areas of concern have been addresses and somewhat surpassed expectations by the Ravens. The defensive secondary is stocked to the point that the training camp competition should be the 'best' we've seen since the early 'Reed' days (No, I'm not comparing any of our current players to Reeeeed! Just the deep bench). As a result, we should not only field a top 5 DB squad, but have several 'next-man-up' DBs available to keep the pace. This thread only showing a 57% Ravens lead is not aligning with most polls in the AFCN and the league. The Ravens are overwelmingly ahead of the rest of the division according to most, currently.
  11. Saw it, but the upside is that most of the country overwhelming (70%+) thinks the Brady and Patriots need to get severe punishments. The Brady Bunch can deny all day, but at the end of the day they will have to face the music. Punishments are eminent.
  12. Denial. Cue theme music: "That's the way they all became the Brady Bunch."
  13. 2015 NFL Draft grades: Steelers, Colts among underachievers http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000491823/article/2015-nfl-draft-grades-steelers-colts-among-underachievers Bucky Brooks thinks the Steelers got too conservative on draft day. Steelers got Alvin "Bud" Dupree to give the team a DPR (designated pass rusher only). They picked a pair of cover corners in Senquez Golson (5'8”) and Doran Grant - note: Golson potentially struggling against bigger-bodied receivers and he could also have some trouble against the run in the 'hard running' AFCN and NFCW. Lastly, they say that Sammie Coates is a "boom or bust" prospect. GRADE: C+ I said early that their defense needed to get '3 rookie standouts'. We'll see.
  14. Well said.
  15. AFC North Writers Ranking: Cleveland Voted Us Down Apparently, the Browns' writers feel our FO had the 4th place ranking for the AFCN Draft (contrary to the rest of the NFL and AFCN). Sour grapes? Maybe... http://espn.go.com/blog/cleveland-browns/post/_/id/13624/afc-north-writers-vote-steelers-had-divisions-best-draft No problem Cleveland writers. I've seen what you've written about your own team and it's never pretty.
  16. What a player. What a man. What a leader of men. What a...future awaits. Like Unitas, Mackey, Lewis and the rest...words don't truly capture the appreciative spirit of how much we love them. Thank you Ed Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed!!!
  17. Great assessment! Agreed.
  18. Agreed. There's no way that a SB will be taken away in this NFL culture, but my point is simply: The investigation from last season falls short of the entire body of work (deflated balls) that the Cheatriots have gotten away with over several seasons. They need to be held accountable with stiff penalties this season and an * should be added to 'all' seasons affected since SkyGate. The New England Patriots’ Prevention of Fumbles Is Nearly Impossible for years since SpyGate. http://www.slate.com/articles/sports/sports_nut/2015/01/ballghazi_the_new_england_patriots_lose_an_insanely_low_number_of_fumbles.html?wpsrc=sh_all_mob_em_top If the NFL is really interested in 'Getting it right."
  19. Absolutely. Years of defining the laws of science...really?
  20. Since SpyGate to DeflateGate The New England Patriots’ Prevention of Fumbles Is Nearly Impossible. Remember the science. Not just the Colts were affected. http://www.slate.com/articles/sports/sports_nut/2015/01/ballghazi_the_new_england_patriots_lose_an_insanely_low_number_of_fumbles.html?wpsrc=sh_all_mob_em_top The Cheatriots need to be held accountable (period).
  21. Ozzie and company are building an absolute 'Masterpiece'!!! Van GO Ravens! Van GO!
  22. Welcome to RavensNation Breshad (BP)!!! When I saw the pre-draft focus ESPN rundown about a month ago - I just felt like you'd be a perfect Raven although I hadn't heard of you before I watched those clips and read your stats. I thought, that dude looks like Torrey and Boldin morphed into something beast-mode. Bold Perdiction: You are going to be a standout WR before the end of the season and everybody will know your name when we reach the Super Bowl this season. They'll never ask, "Breshad Perriman...who...?", ever again. GO Ravens!
  23. Absolutely agreed. As a matter of fact, I could careless about teams outside of our division or not on our schedule this season before the season ends and the playoff schedule has been set. The AFCN has collectively had a pretty productive off-season (re-signings, FA acquisitions, drafts, UDFA, trades, extensions, etc.) and have placed 3 teams in the NFL Power Rankings Top 10. No other division has matched that so far. The Ravens have a commanding 'Improvement' lead on every team in the league thus far (up 4 positions). That's unprecedented. With only a few plays separating the Ravens from a Super Bowl last season and the addition of needed talent during this off-season, we have to give HUGE credit to our FO for overcoming tremendous odds and once again putting us in the position to compete for a Super Bowl. The AFCN and the NFCW and AFCW (on our schedule) have all scored high during this off-season, respectively. I would argue that no team bettered their roster more during this off-season than the Ravens (thus far). Congrats - Oz and company! GO Ravens!
  24. Outstanding read! Still don't know who we will face in the AFCC, but I'm feeling like we'll be in the hunt.
  25. AFCN: Current After-Draft Power Rankings One of the key indicators that evaluate how effective front offices are is the 'Power Rankings' after the draft. According to several current rankings our 2015 Ravens are a even more competetive team then last season's. http://espn.go.com/nfl/powerrankings/_/year/2015/week/0 Current Ranking After 2014 Ranking Ravens 7th 11th UP 4 Steelers 9th 6th Down 3 Bengals 10th 9th Down 1 Browns 28th 23rd Down 5 Outstanding FO work this offseason so far. Giving an extra shut-out to the scouting team.
