  1. Ravens 20th Season and the 50th Super Bowl...I'm still thinking "Destiny". 0-3 or 0-4 comeback to win it all would be Epic! Until it's all said and done...why not? GO Ravens! Be Legendary!
  2. Got the same deal with a Roku. I don't know why more people just don't cut the cord. I saved a $1000.00+ a year not having a cable or DTV bill. The Sunday package isn't all that expensive when you consider that.
  3. Absolutely. I couldn't agree more that 'back with Ravensnation' would not be the right place for him to land right now. This would be that potential 'Media Circus' that we don't need right, now. We're trying to win another Super Bowl in our 20th year. The distractions would be extremely problematic for the new Ravens who really don't know Ray. That said, I still don't care about the reactions to video or the 'Poster Boy' aspect that is now following Ray around and is jeopardizing his ability to redeem himself. I've said consistently (on the 1st report) before the video was ever released that I didn't need to see it to know what happened and it was horrible and shocking. Yes, the separation of the Ravens and Ray was the best course for both parties, but the hypocrisy that ensued will most likely be rectified, soon. We're living in the Social Media Era and video is everywhere and so are players that will make the same mistakes or worst unfortunately. Ray will no longer be the 'Poster Boy' and a few years later we'll look back and hopefully say, "Ray found redemption and was truly family. The only reason why we weren't able to take him back-in then was because he was the 1st, but never the worst." Public Relations be damned.
  4. This SuperBowl wouldn't be great without another great FHOFer retiring after the victory. What a fitting send-off for 89.
  5. That said, I hope Ray gets an opportunity somewhere. And to be quite honest about it (here it comes - neg away)...I wish it was here. What many will never understand about football is the family aspect of it. Families fall short and make mistakes, but to overcome those mistakes truly defines 'family'. Ray is family. Although he'll most likely end-up on another team or not play at all this year, the thing that I care the least about is ... "What will media reaction will be like?." No one has more pressure than him, his wife and their family on them regardless. If anything - his Ravens Family (yes, it still is true in the locker-room and out) will be able to get them through it. I'll still cheer him on in Cleveland (except when they play us) or on any other team, because I still believe that he'll become an even bigger example for the game and the country of what 'True Redemption' will look like. Also because, he's family.
  6. Kind of harsh on the legacy of a stand-up guy who just happened to coach a year with one of our worst o-lines, banged-up backfields and game plans?
  7. The Ravens' front office has been consistently called one of the NFL's 'Elite' for over a decade, now. As a result of this, other AFCN opponents have been overshadowed and/or totally dismissed from league consideration. Bengals' fans and media outlets have been asking for the promotion of Marvin Lewis to GM and hiring another coach for years now although they've been consistently competitive in recent years. Steelers' fans and ex-Steelers have been openly critical of some of their FO moves even though they've remained competitive, as well. And the Browns...well there's just to much fan mistrust to mention. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/22243529/ranking-the-best-front-offices-among-the-nfls-top-tier-of-teams This off-season serves as such a great barometer for me simply because of the cap space, releases, trades, draft strategies and FO personnel restructuring that are taking place currently and/or will be happening before the season begins. Although front office brilliance doesn't exclusively lead to championships and Super Bowls, there's very little argument that these off-season moves do play a huge factor in it. Who will win this AFCN chess match this off-season? Which fans are showing the most trust and/or enthusiasm for their FO moves? Can we still trust Ozzie and the gang to reign 'Supreme' in the AFCN?
  8. It seems that the Browns, Steelers and Bengals Insiders Give FA Lewis the Nod Over FA Arrington Who will make the 'Biggest 2015 FA Impact for the Ravens'? http://espn.go.com/blog/baltimore-ravens/post/_/id/20477/afc-north-qa-which-of-the-ravens-free-agent-acquisitions-will-make-the-biggest-impact Who'll be the most impactful 2015 FA for the rest of the AFC North? That's a tough one. I'll pick 2 per team. I guess given the same criteria for their new teams I'd go with: Browns - Pryer (Catching and 2 point conversions – not QB) or Dwayne BoweBengals - A.J. Hawk or Brandon TateSteelers - Darrius Heyward-Bey or Doran Grant (He'll have to sink or swim in that secondary).
  9. Agreed. The Browns QB-Gate continues to be a head-scratcher. Now add Pyrer? What the...?
  10. Absolutely.
  11. Agreed. Once the pads come out...we'll have confirmation. Just a guess, but I think that these 2 will be even more elevated. Our scout team gives them both high grades for IQ and toughness. Everything I've seen so far supports it. The adjusting to the speed of the game (with pads) is what really sets rookies apart. Again...I think they'll do just fine.
  12. It's getting interesting. Very good signs for the Ravens. I think they should have said "...would have been another amazing catch by Perriman" (He's made so many so far.), but there's no doubt that both Maxx and Perriman are all-in.
  13. Top Tier: Ravens Roster Gets High Rankings Just a little more to consider: There's been several reports from several sports outlets that have ranked the Ravens 'high' in many aspects on this off-season, but to add that our present roster tops the entire AFC and ranks amongst Seattle and Green Bay is truly high praise. http://espn.go.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/13046017/seattle-seahawks-top-ranking-rosters-all-32-teams-nfl I can't appreciate Ravens Front Office more for continually putting us in the position to become a part of the 'Top Tier' conversation. In Oz I Trust.
  14. My mistake. Got the Kiper - Maxx "Offensive Rookie of the Year" pick mixed-up with the Perriman "Top 5 Wildcard Offensive Rookie of the Year" pick by Kevin Weidl, Scouts Inc. Either way Perriman was given the upper-hand based on the team, OC scheme and QB he'll be playing with and potential to start opening-day. Because of that eval, Perriman was picked over WRs taken before him in the draft ( Amari Cooper, Kevin White and DeVante Parker) and projected to have an immediate impact. http://espn.go.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/12892107/jameis-winston-melvin-gordon-top-offensive-rookie-year-candidates-nfl Training Camp, Pre-Season and a 2015 Season still has to be played, but to have 2 of our own in that conversation is a beautiful thing. Don't remember that ever happening on the offensive-side. Both Perriman and Maxx lead all receivers in their class in both of those guys picks.
  15. About Perriman: ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. : “Wildcard Pick for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year”. This was over every other WR drafted and/or current QB/WR combinations in the league. Enough said.
  16. Agreed. It's just a feeling, but this could be a very special season for the Ravens.
  17. It's Official: The Baltimore Ravens had the BEST Offseason in the AFC North and Arguably... the Rest of the League! Starting the offseason with very little cap space, heavy player free-agent movement and losses of talent at key positions, Ozzie and the crew were able to secure extra draft picks, extend current critical player contracts and address all their previous season personnel needs while strengthening their future financial prospects through (A+ rated) contract extensions, free agency and the draft. As a result, the Ravens elevated their league-wide team status in a majority of 'Power Rankings' and even increased their overall talent pool in the proccess. Notable: Stealing Maxx from the Steelers and securing Perriman (ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. : “Wildcard Pick for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year” espn) during the draft and building one of the strongest/deepest DB and WR cores in Ravens History. Also Notable: SB Nation Kiper CBS Sports Illustrated NFL.com Ravens draft grade B+ A- A B+ A Bengals draft grade B- B+ B+ B+ A+ Steelers draft grade B+ A- B- B+ B- Browns draft grade B B B- B- B+ I'll restate: When determining which team's front office set the offseason grade, the priority and determining factor should always be where they started and where they end-up. The Ravens pulled-off a miracle like offseason, considering. I mean we've always been considered an 'elite' FO year after year, but...WOW! Ozzie and the crew just did the dawg thing (again). If you're a Ravens Fan and you're not excited about that or the potential for this upcoming 2015 season...check your pause...and Check mate! GO Ravens!
  18. I know. I wonder what the odds are in Vegas for Peter King dropping us down from #1 in his Power Ranknig even if we are up by 21 in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl. I'd have to pick that he would. The man never stays with us or picks us to win anything. Amazing.
  19. Peter King agrees. He has us currently ranked #1 in the league going into the summer on his Power Ranking. Wow! Didn't expect that from him, but that's a great indication that our Front Office did an outstanding job this offseason. I'm getting pumped just thinking about the possibilities. GO Ravens!
  20. When you break it down to schemes and units the 'Division Best' takes-on new meaning. 2014 Stats: Passing Offense - Steelers>Ravens>Browns>Bengals Rushing Offense - Ravens>Steelers>Browns>Bengals Kick/Punt Returns - Bengals>Ravens>Steelers>Browns Kicking/Punting - Browns>Bengals>Steelers>Ravens Passing Defense - Browns>Bengals>Ravens>Steelers Rushing Defense - Ravens>Steelers>Bengals>Browns Kick/Punt Returns Against - Browns>Steelers>Ravens>Bengals Kicking/Punting Against - Ravens>Steelers>Bengals>Browns Final AFCN 2014 Game - Ravens>Steelers It's a team game, not individuals>then other individuals. Just saying. edit - typo
  21. Cool. Fans do seem to over-react to team critics from time to time (me included). Every AFC North Team Forum has there team winning the AFCN Offseason. Steeler Fans are voting at 79% for their team currently although NFL most polls collectively have the Ravens as clear division winners of this off-season. I'm thinking that's why we play the game. Can't wait for the opening kick-off.
  22. Gil Brandt? I think he's been pretty objective over 50 years. I mean he did pick the Steelers to be crowned a 'Dynasty' before they lost to the Packers in their Super Bowl appearance. "In Brandt's eyes, this current group of Pittsburgh Steelers can put its name into that elite category with a third championship in six seasons." - James Walker, ESPN Staff Writer - 2011 That doesn't sound like a hater. I think he made an honest, objective eval in this case. The Steelers loss so much on defense and didn't truly address their sub-standard pass defense from last season at all. There are more writers than him asking, "Who will lead this Steelers defense?..." Their offense is 1st class, but the current roster is looking more like coach. Just saying. How did you vote so far?
  23. Absolutely. I'm thinking he'll take a 'Super Bowl Championship' season over a 1000 yard season, but if it takes that - I'll take that. That would mean that SSS and the entire WR core are playing like Ravens and Flacco is all-in. The league will have to take notice. This offense has the potential to produce top receiving numbers. I betting on our guys.
  24. I feel that Zuttah will be in constant state of improvement just looking at the difference he's shown so far. We'll probably be a 'TOP 5' Offensive line unit before year's end. It seems our FO is focusing on our real 2014 weakness DBs. They're doing some great things there and the league is taking notice. It's just the off-season, but many are picking us to win our division, currently. (Even some Steeler writers.) Amazing. http://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/nfl-pittsburgh-steelers-news/2015/5/26/8654541/nfl-coms-gil-brandt-believes-the-steelers-wont-repeat-as-afc-north This is a credit to the Ravens FO. Nobody gave us too much thought until Oz and crew worked their magic this off-season.
  25. Absolutely. Plus, I think that those young receivers are really going to positively benefit from his health and training standards along with his in-depth, professional knowledge. Priceless.
