  1. Don't lose sleep. Just dream of better starts and better days. We've had plenty before this season. Let's just hope it ends better. There was a little more passion out there. Promising. I'm good.
  2. Don't forget how one of the Cards helped Johnson to get up on the 'no whistle' run.
  3. He's thinking..."This is some some kind of flukey curse or something. Nothings going right. We're losing close games. Everybody is going down with injuries and I don't have a clue to how I can fix it. (Phone rings. He takes call.) "We're still soldout for this season, right?" "Cool." and cut to next 9 games.
  4. I can't remember a team losing this many early close games that could have gone either way. I know there had to be a few. Just thinking...this a freaky season. Bummer. It's scary. Good effort overall. I'm feeling for for these guys. They've got to be just as freaked-out.
  5. Agreed. Terrible crew. Laughable.
  6. Agreed. They played with a lot more passion and purpose. For the most part, it was one of the better games this weekend. Just couldn't get that W.
  7. Agreed. The 'Attitude' is just not there consistantly. I wonder if it has more to do with leadership. I don't recognize this 'brand' of Ravens football at all. It's competitive like a corporate team building weekend, but not like a band of brothers in battle. There's not enough collective passion or purpose out there. Just a workout where no one wants to be the reason for losing so the fear of losing rules the day. No sway. The Ravens are better than our 1-5 record would suggest, but we won't be until everyone on the field commits to being fearless. Sorry for the rant. I don't know what I'm looking at this season.
  8. Agreed. Under-estimated and not alot of trending, but BRILLIANT Stuff and engaging. Loved it! Want more.
  9. Their weakness should become our strength. Expecting 'BIG' games from CJ and DSmith. GO Ravens!!! String it Together!
  10. You can say "We could get this one." Mili. That's not a reach for a fan. Besides, all the things you've mentioned about us in your comment (All true I might add) are just as true about the 49ers. The only difference is that we've shown that we can put way more points on the score board than they've averaged (15). I'm not making predictions. 'Should' is passive here and self explanatory. Meaning: We should get this one. If that's not the case - so be it. On to the next game. The Ravens haven't shown that they can finish a season 1-15 so eventually my 'should' will prevail. As a fan that's all we can truly hope for.
  11. Great point and oh so true. Absolutely agreed. That could definitely tip-the-scale in taking away their only strength (Run Game).
  12. Injuries seem to be up throughout the league (and growing). Some say that it has more to due with the new turf (experimental at best) that the majority of teams are using. Others point at the new rule changes that give players no alternative but low tackles and blocks. Lastly, with 'speed' and 'strength' players being one of the main focuses on almost every team (track and extreme bodybuilding athletes) those types of injuries have always been common-place in other sports outside of football.
  13. The 49ers haven't shown that they pass well (NFL Ranking 31st) They haven't shown that they score consistantly (NFL Ranking 32nd)15 points per game avg They haven't shown that they can keep their offense on the field (NFL Ranking 29th) Even with our injuries and slow start we should be able to get this one. The keys: Stop/Neutralize their run game, maintain mental discipline (cut-down penalties) and put up at least 21 points. GO Ravens!!! String it together! (The NEW Mantra)
  14. Haven't been too active lately, but are we already back to the off-season talks with 11 games left? I wonder how many players being discussed right now will not be hurt, retired, suspended or completely unavailable before the end of this season.
  15. Liked this. Even 9-7 may get us there. If we could manage to win at least 8 more games (something we've averaged for years) I think we're good. Keep the faith. Why not? That never hurts until it's mathematically impossible.
  16. No shades allowed. As pathetic as we've looked (especially late in games), we're not as bad as some may think. We currently have better team rankings in Run Defense than 6 teams left on our schedule (Pitt, Browns, Chargers, Bengals, 49ers, Rams),Better overall offense (passing/rushing offense) than 4 teams left on the scheduleBengals are ranked 4th in offense, but only 21st in defense and are undefeated (sustainable?)Just saying this to point out that there's so much parity in the league currently (especially within our remaining schedule) that it's possible for any team to go 8-3 or 9-2 from here. More than any teams we have left to play - we are a more balanced team offensively and defensively (not dominate - just balanced). We are currently 'fair' to 'slightly above average' overall, but so is everybody else left on the schedule (except - Arizona). We have to find a way to tighten-up our pass defense more, eliminate the untimely penalties and focus on what we do best offensively. Just saying...it's somewhat unlikely, but at the same time considerably possible (like every other team in the league).
  17. Liking that one, too. 'The Gentlemen's Club' with no bouncers, no ID needed, no cover-charge and we tip you just for showing up. sheeeeesh.
  18. Agreed with this, but still feel like a 9-7 or 10-6 season is feasible. We've only lossed 3-4 games this 'early' season that we've won in other seasons. It wasn't so much game play, coaching or anything in particular really. Just a 'flip-of-the-coin' karma, breaks, luck or whatever happens in close games that defies explanation. It is what it is. I'm not being an apologist, but like you mentioned in your analysis...adding alittle levity. To me the bad thing is: We lost a home game wearing our all-black uniforms. That never happened before (I don't think). Bad Mojo. Cubs and Mets, Trump, Dalton leads in QBR, etc. What's next? Maybe we roll-out a string of wins and just get back on track. It's more probable than not with the remaining schedule. Just saying.
  19. Sometimes there's really no one to blame, to be fair. However, many of 'Great' coaches and players have lost their jobs purely on 'Results' and 'Perception'. The 'Results' and 'Perception' alone demands change. Hopefully this change will be 'wins' based on holding 4th quarter leads and/or dominating rival offenses when needed the majority of the time. Williams defense of his coach is admirable and he should be respected for that; however we must keep in mind that he's pretty new to the NFL. Missouri Southern is not the Ravens 'Defensive' legacy and what's demanded and expected to fill a NFL legacy. When that expectation can't be met...the NFL truly translates to 'Not For Long' no matter who's at fault. I don't know what's next, but I'm hoping to see a change the 'Results' and 'Perception' of our defense or changes in coaches and players will most likely come sooner than later.
  20. CJ will have a record breaking game in SanFran. Just a feeling.
  21. The Legion of...Room to do whatever the hell you want to do whenever you want to do it. Ok. I got that out. Now start (somewhat) playing like Ravens, again. Let's GO!!!
  22. This absolutely. It ain't over 'til it's over.
  23. Agreed. We need to get those wins to 'become' part of the conversation, but my point was that this doesn't make it a 'pipe dream'. There are no guarantees in the game, but until it happens...there's a stronger probability that the Ravens are still in the conversation until they've been mathematically eliminated. At this point (even without that 1st W) insiders are saying that the Ravens are still in.
  24. Not neccessarily unless you believe the Steelers, Browns and Bengals will run through non-conference opponents on their schedules. There are insiders who still give the Ravens the scheduling edge (mid-season & end). Unless you're betting that Dalton consistently puts on A. Rodger-like feats throughout the season (pipe-dream?), Big Ben won't be missed (pipe-dream?) or the Browns...(ok). Why not us?
  25. The Good, Bad, Ugly and Levity... One play away again against the Bengals, but that does not a season make. We make that play the next time and absolutely nothing was lost. We've actually won playoff games after losing to the Bengals...they can't say the same. The AFC North most likely will not dominate the non-conference competition (i.e. - NFC South 2014) this season. Therefore, If we (at least) split and/or win the majority of inter-conference matchups and non-conference games on the schedule - we will most likely represent in playoffs again and win, again. 9-7 or 10-6 could win theconference this year. edit - will not
