  1. True. That's the Ravens Way win or lose. That's my team out there.
  2. Those who think that we embarrassed ourselves, looked out-classed, etc. would have to honestly admit: You got excited when we fought our way back...didn't you? We we loss, but we made it a game and a few more plays.... Nobody hates the Patriots more than me, but we still gave them a game that could have easily gone either way.
  3. True. I called it when it happened. Weddle took a gamble and got burnt, that doesn't make him 'not' elite. He took gambles all game on runs and passes and won most of those battles. Now, name an 'elite' player in the game who doesn't take risks for the team. If there is one - I haven't seen it. Search to see who are the top players in his position. Yes, it was one bad play, but if he hadn't made some of the plays and calls that allowed our defense to keep the game competitive before that last TD - the last one probably wouldn't have mattered.
  4. The Ugly: The Final Score - We unusually looked flat all-around in the 1st half - The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Special Teams performance - The "Patriot's Way" constant commentator's a sing-a-long all game long, the injuries The Bad: The overall preparation for this opponent that revealed itself early - Hester was truly a liability in this game (thank the heavens their returner was, too) The Good: The comeback attempt made the game intriguing and the Ravens showed some heart. The Great: Dixon has arrived (Use him more in the game plan), Perriman has arrived (Use him more in the game plan), Weddle is elite, Orr balled-out, SSS balled-out, Juice balled-out, the D-Line never quit although the stats may reflect the opposite and lastly we still have a reasonable chance of winning this division.
  5. OC Update: I'm still in Camp Marty.
  6. Can't think of a better time, place and narrative season for the Ravens to get this win on MNF. It will most likely be the Top rated MNF broadcast this season. It's the much beloved story-lines of "The Improbable becomes Probable", "The Unthinkable becomes Thinkable" and "The Unbeatable becomes very, very Beatable" simply because of all the teams they have faced throughout the years no team fears them less than the Ravens. This is because the Ravens have made all those before mentioned story-lines come true more than any other. We actually look forward to these games. That's the thing. Since our last trip there where we blew 2 separate 14 point leads to allow them to get the win, how have both teams changed? I would say when comparing rosters and additions we definitely look a little bit stronger collectively than 3 years ago. Remember the totally stitched together secondary and reserves? Remember our injury report then? Not so much for this game. We're in a really good place to "Shock the World" (Oh yeah. And stop being so freaking naive world! It's not like this hasn't happened before...) once again. All this to say, when it comes-down to which team has to prove themselves more this time around - it's the Boston team. Everybody has already inked-in another win for them. My thought is they should have penciled it in. Our Ravens have been erasers many times before. GO Ravens!!! And may the Joe Cool Chill Factor be with You. (Once again. Said it last week and it worked so...)
  7. M&T Cloudy and 47 degrees - The 1st game the Dolphins have played this season in cold air. Could be an added advantage for the Ravens at home. GO Ravens!!! And may The Joe Cool Chill Factor be with you.
  8. I'm just saying "ok". I was wrong about Belichick when he coached the Browns and could be wrong about Chip. I never think my opinion is always beyond reproach. You've made some good points. I just see it a little differently. It's hard for me to feel strongly about it either way because honestly I think it would be foolish of him to not take the Oregon offer and choose to be demoted to an OC after being fired twice. Highly unlikely. He could be a Saban-type legend if he returned. In addition, I'm still Team Marty for now.
  9. ok.
  10. I like the thought of it, but I'm not sure if he'll be an available candidate. He's truly got the successful outcomes and resume to be a OC. That said, I honestly hope Marty keeps progressing so it won't come-down to that. I'm still in Camp Marty.
  11. The reps-thing when his offense averaged almost 25% more reps than any in league is a mute point. The 'complexity-thing' is also a mute point (Never said it was complex at all). So what you're saying is "If we decide to hire an OC next season because Chip gets fired and doesn't accept more money and job security at Oregon who is begging him to return and Marty doesn't pan-out then...Chip would be a great fit with our current returning team?"
  12. Chip's schedule worked well in college (double what professionals do even with the quesay rules they say they're following), but not so much in Philli. He adjusted it during his second run with San Fran. Players were very pleased. http://www.oregonlive.com/nfl/index.ssf/2016/08/chip_kellys_training_camp_sche.html 13 games in and...look at the results. College players don't have agents and NFLPA representation (I saw what you did...conveniently leaving that part out). It's about reps. They just don't apply to game time. Practice time reps are just as wearing to the body as game time reps. Doubling the reps means shortening the careers of players. That's millions of dollars flushed down the toilet. Ask an agent. Now, once your in the league for 5-6 years imagine the wear and tear on your body. Like I stated before - it's great for college and I'll add X-Box. Oregon wants him back for millions. He's probably gone anyway.
  13. True. It's really not a bad philosophy...for college. It's not the offensive scheme. It's truly innovative. It's the fact that paid, professional players with agents and the NFLPA representing them aren't going to have enough of the extensive amounts of practice reps, OTAs, film study and live full-speed/contact drills to master it. Another consideration - youth and endurance. It's a great college offense, but not for grown men. They would have to extend the roster to 80 players per team along with everything mentioned before that.
  14. Agreed. One of the most fair and honest assessments I've read on the subject.
  15. There's a hum going around the league saying "No game this week has bigger playoff implications..." and "This could be a preview of the AFC Wildcard Game...". All just to say this game is important to both teams. It's suppose to be close. That said... All I really want is to see the Ravens offense finally put together and execution a high scoring, consistently balanced run and pass, low penalty and high time-of-possession for 4 quarters this game. Every playoff team eventually gets there at least once before their season ends. We're in week 13. It's time. For the most part we're now healthy enough and have shown that the chemistry is adequate enough to achieve this. I think we will. The defense will take care of itself. GO Ravens!!! Put on a show!
  16. Start giving him more snaps and more production will ensue. When you're averaging less than 20 snaps a game compared to Wallace and SSS (50+ snaps a game) then yes, your production is going to be marginal and the chemistry between you and your QB is going to be stagnated. With more snaps and targets, I'm sure we'll see more production. This guy has that 'it' factor. We only need to tap-in on 'it' a little more each game.

  18. Dolphins in Baltimore? Let's see...they haven't won here in nearly 2 decades, Joe has pretty much owned them, as well and (last but most relevant) we need this game like...oxygen, water and food for our "playoff" survival. I don't want to see any dolphins performing (well) in Baltimore unless it's in the National Aquarium. FlocksGottaFeed and everybody needs to eat this game. Offense and Defense. GO Ravens!!!
  19. Update: Good suggestion, but very few here want to take the conversation that high. Tried it weeks ago. It would be great if they did.
  20. It seems he loss a step-or-two after his concussion, but it he checks-out with our medical staff and scouts he could be a good reserve/option.
  21. Game Attendance doesn't seem to be a problem at all for us. We're surpassing most of the league. Average 2016 game attendance 71,114 (considered 100.1%) - Also top ten in the league 'home and away' attendance 99.1% http://www.espn.com/nfl/attendance/_/sort/allPct
  22. Give this guy 10 good looks in one game and just watch how fast this thread blows-up. This man's 'big play' potential hasn't been tapped into, yet. However, if we're going to progress, build and compete towards the playoffs and beyond...now is the time to consistently integrate him into the offense and challenge his resolve. That's the thing, there is no next season in football. Everything can end in one play. Imagine what havoc that can be created by the mere thought of defending a future Hall of Famer - Steve Smith, arguably "The Fastest Man" in the league - Mike Wallace, the Ravens franchise leading receiver from 2015 - Aiken and the "Fastest Man from the 2015 Rookie Combine (4.2)" - Breshad Perriman who has been endorsed, heralded, validated and/or praised by HoFer Michael Irvin and a host of NFL players and insiders, alike? Just let the kid play.
  23. The Bad: The purchases and stock for Tums, Pepto-Bismol, Zantac and every other stomach gastrointestinal conditions that are triggered or aggravated by emotions just went through the M&T Stadium hole in the roof again. Not having enough of the 'killer instinct' in our scheming to close-out games with an explanation point!!!! The Good: We broke the 5 game losing streak from the AFC North Defending Champion Bengals and defended our top ranking once again. The Great: Tucker (Straight MONEY!!!!!), Suggs and the return of Doom, all of the youngsters coming through again (Great F.O. work), the potential of our run offense and again, our AFC North sole possession of 1st Place - Ravens!
  24. Or is it really? "They need to lose a game or 2 to truly appreciate and feel what a loss feels like to...blah, blah..." Irvin really talks about what works for him and/or past teams. Dak and Elliot already know what it feels like to lose a game or two like every other Cowboy on their current roster. Think about it: 14-2 would surpass his 13-3 1992 franchise record setting season with Aikman. Do you really think he would be happy with that if they didn't need it to win their division? When you love something dearly (the Ravens were life changing for Ray) your passion is eternal. Take another extroverted passionate HoFer like Ditka on the Bears and Cutler: "Bears need 'leadership' from Jay Cutler" http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chicagoinc/ct-mike-ditka-chicago-inc-spt-0818-20160817-story.html "I need leadership out of my quarterback. And if I can get that out of him, then I've got a chance." This guy coached Jim McMahon who couldn't come close to half of Culter's numbers, but won championships...Ditka just really wants them to win again and reporters just stick mikes in his face because...a passionate, alpha male is reality tv on steroids to sell commercial space (Cha-ching!!!!) I'm just saying, this is not a right or wrong conversation about Ray's motivations and/or lack of it's just the human condition. An extrovert rarely understands the motivations of an introvert. At least Joe and Ray (with apology) are trying to keep it all in prospective. It would be nice if we all did. Ray spoke-out because (he couldn't help himself) he really wanted the team to win. Ray apologized because he really wants the team to win. Joe wasn't affected because (he couldn't help himself) he really wanted the team to win. That's what passionate extroverts and passionate introverts do when it comes to addressing each other. Simple strategy for both: If you loved him for it before - just allow him to be him now. They're both Ravens4Life. That won't change either.
  25. The saddest thing about the Jimmy Smith situation (questionable) is that if he plays this Sunday and completely shouts-down his receiver some folks here will be saying, "We'll A.J. Green wasn't playing so who cares.". When, " Smith has negated some of the best receivers in the NFL, including A.J. Green and Antonio Brown..." - Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer. If he doesn't play and we lose in the secondary the same crew will be saying, "It's all because Jimmy didn't play or Jimmy wouldn't have made a difference or we should replace him and/or the entire FO...". Jimmy Smith doesn't stand a chance with some of us. Just get well JS.
