  1. Thanks for the reminder. Checked it out. Could play it back a million times. The Greatest Super Bowl Ever (imo)!!!
  2. Classic moment. One of the best game highlights. The passing of the leadership baton.
  3. That makes a lot of sense, but I just found this and it makes me think differently. http://jimrome.com/2016/02/05/anquan-boldin-2/ I never read this before. It's promising.
  4. Very possible. His departure was laced with a lot of emotional proclamations (Bouldin: "I will retire if I'm traded...the Ravens are my last stop..., etc.). That was personal for him. I haven't heard him make any statements of reflection regarding that level of emotional resolution since. Arizona was his 1st team...but I hope he retires here. He became legendary here.
  5. Absolutely.
  6. It was GREAT seeing Ngata back. No doubt he'll retire a Raven. Ngata: "It was pretty cool. I think, definitely, want to be back when I’m done with the Lions.” #Ravens — Brian Bower (@sportguyRSR)
  7. Never said it was wrong or Stanley isn't a complete stud. I said 'don't jinx it...please. Sometimes it takes more than evidence (especially before the season begins). It takes a whole body of evidence and a little luck even for studs. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000448750/article/rookie-watch-2015-pro-bowl-picks-and-snubs Rookies are very, very rarely given the honor. I would love to see him do it, but more importantly - if he keeps ballin' like he has been I can careless about Pro Bowl Selections. He'll be elite to me regardless.
  8. Why we wait on Pro Bowl Picks at the End of the Season: 16 games of that, facing 16 different defensive schemes designed to trip-up the best of the best and 16 different opportunities to prove that you belong with a thousand possible outcomes. I think he can do it, but don't jinx it...please.
  9. I'll say again...(copy and paste) Promising, but still to early to tell. We haven't faced the 'elite' defenses, yet. That said, I'm still betting on him to possibly be in the conversation. It could happen, but let the season begin and let them throw the 'real' complex schemes at him and let him do his thing. I've got a great feeling about him, but it's still too early... (If asked: Ogden might have said the same about himself, in the same position in his 1st preseason).
  10. Agreed, but should really keep Mallet at 2nd QB if we want more leverage to trade for positions to replace injuries or strengthen a unit if needed. Both QBs bring something to the table and they would definitely be needed back-ups in this 'watered-down' backup QB Era if we choose not to keep 3 QBs: however, Mallet would bring us a better deal if shopped around. We would not lose much (or anything) with Johnson and gain multi-pass/run skilled 'practice' QB for game preparation.
  11. Promising, but still to early to tell. We haven't faced the 'elite' defenses, yet. That said, I'm still betting on him to possibly be in the conversation.
  12. Yep! He's on a mission.
  13. Agreed on all those picks. What do you pick for MVU (Most Valuable Unit: Defense - Offense)? I'm leaning towards O-line and D-Backfield.
  14. Absolutely. And yes he did take him to school.
  15. When doing a head-to-head comparison with the Bengals performance vs Lions last we really look a cut above in all most every game stat (defense, offense, ST, etc.). It's still preseason, but that's a good thing. That's really what I needed to see and evaluate.
  16. He's the real thing.
  17. Agreed. That didn't seem to fall into the 'blatantly ridiculous' penalty category. He shouldn't be singled-out for that one. Besides - haven't seen a game where there wasn't any penalties. It happens.
  18. There's a great team chemistry building here. The combination of FAs, returning vets and rookies is starting to look - deadly. Great job Oz and front office! It wasn't as easy to see until this PS game, but there's no doubt, now. They're Playing Like Ravens. Can't wait for game 1.
  19. Yes, especially if the play is called on a 'less-predictable' down, distant and alignment (i.e. - 1st down, run formation with fullback support, etc.). Add TE and 2nd receiver short crossing routes as 2nd/3rd looks. Worst case scenario: Out throwing the coverage and/or primary receiver or settling for a shorter route. imo - Our O-line can do more than just hold-up on 'less-predictable' passing plays. A 4.35 40 yard sprint with the ball in the air in approx. 3.5 seconds...absolutely, yes.
  20. I'm just happy for the switch to natural grass. Less injuries.
  21. Yep! And cheaper food (just price - not quality).
  22. Agreed. It's not all about this; however, there's an obvious contradiction to this concept. 'Fantasy' football individual stats don't completely translate to winning football, but they always translate to winning team championships. (Look at individual 'fantasy' stats since it began and look at at the ranking of Super Bowl teams, individuals and units) It's a great indicator that individual successes feed team success. The thing is...without consistent, competitive 'individual' high performance stats that are a direct reflection and out-liner of relative offensive/defensive/special teams units and ultimately team performance stats - we don't have the luxury of melting the clock with a lead. It's an indicator that individuals haven't performed to high enough levels to 'capture' any momentum or even have a lead. Playing 'boring' has it's place, but only when we demand high energy individual play, all-out risk taking coaching and 'ball so hard' team swag to get there. That's the Ravens Way (i.e. Do Your Thang!). The Strategy: Play like Ravens!
  23. One of Harb's (Along with Ray Lewis, Reed, Suggs and most Raven players, etc.) biggest influences as a kid was Ali. Not fundamental at all. Harb's been known for doing the unexpected, taking risk and celebrating individuality to produce a winning culture. Far from boring if anyone studies Ravens Culture...boldness and flash has definitely worked. http://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/article-1/Late-For-Work-66-John-Harbaugh-Ray-Lewis-React-To-Passing-Of-Muhammad-Ali/53910030-657c-4516-8222-1aa18977141c
  24. Loving the opportunity to see Joe and Perriman connection, but not over the middle. Go big. A deep fly pattern on 1st down is in order. Let P show his all-out speed (fastest at last year's combine) and Joe's arm as soon as possible. Both need to challenge themselves (for better or worse) before the season begins. It will only set the bar that every other team must take notice or not whether it fails or succeeds (i.e. Joe to Torrey Smith). But deep threat speed can't be taught nor can arm strength. To realistically build our offensive scheme (based on our prospective team engineering) we have to put theory to the test. Go big. Play like Ravens.
  25. I like the topic. Cerebral. By 'boring' are you talking about 'no celebrating as a team... or no individual celebrations like our last Superbowl team was known for...or simply being like the teams from before Billie White Shoes Johnson and Deon Sanders? I'm all with your strategy statement, but the 'showboating and stats thing eludes me.
