My point is that while Denver's offense was great, Seattle had easily the best defense that year and one of the best all time. It wasn't nearly as big a gap as the Atlanta defense vs New England. Compared to a great offense still with New England and an average at best defense from Atlanta, I'd say there is a much bigger gap. You are talking about a fairly even matchup with the 2013 Super Bowl but this is not and the Falcons will have a much harder time limiting the Pats. So while I think it is great to bring that up, I don't see how it has much to do with this current matchup, especially considering Brady put up 28 on largely the same group the next year and the Seahawks blew a 10 point 4th quarter lead.

Obviously coaching is key, but so is talent. ATL's defense aren't full of scrubs, but that talent on SEA's defense? Sheesh it ain't even close.

Now pertaining to the following Super Bowl, I believe the Hawks secondary had injuries all across the board. Lane was taken out of the game and the 3 members of the LoB had some sort of leg injury (IIRC). That I believe played a big role in them blowing that lead.

At what point does someone pick playing for a contender rather than just getting paid.  I cant give an actual opinion, nor can anyone really on here because we aren't faced with this decision.

Maybe years of losing even though he hasn't gone through that (quite the opposite end of the spectrum actually).

That is also a good point, that Texans defense was loaded without Watt which is pretty scary if they get him back healthy next year.

I hope they never get a legit QB. That's a dangerous team if they got someone like Rivers.

    Saw this coming.

"Browns re-signed OLB Jamie Collins to a four-year, $50 million contract with $26 million guaranteed.

Collins had been in the last year of his rookie contract, which prompted his mid-season trade from New England. He's now the NFL's fourth highest-paid linebacker on an annual basis behind Von Miller, Justin Houston and Clay Matthews. Used as a jack of all trades by the Patriots, Collins was given more edge-rusher opportunities in Cleveland and will be counted on to key the team's outside pass rush moving forward.

My condolences to him. At least he got paid.

Maybe on another team that will coach him up. He does have Elamitis he tends to trip on the turf monster too often to ever cover anyone effectively

I need to see this word being used more often. Perfect wording right here.

That's a good point, plus didn't we give him a raise that essentially pays him like a General Manager a while back? Honestly, who wouldn't want to go be the GM of Indy where you already have a Franchise QB in place with Luck and all DeCosta has to do is what Grigson failed to do, build a team around him.

Find yourself another candidate, Colts. We aren't your farm...

Too bad we couldn't sign Alex Mack when we had the chance

don't remember but he asked whole lot more than we can offer and seemingly the Browns don't want to trade anything within the division, especially with the bitter Ravens....

I was just gonna say....did we even have the chance to get him? I bet he was out of our price range.

Hey, at least we're the only team to beat NE at their home when they were leading at half-time, and the only team to beat them at their home in the AFC title game. Let's be honest here, we're a spoiled rotten fan-base. I get that NE and Pitt are as well, but the fact that we were the only ones to do that, c'mon man, no one can take that away from us. Makes me so proud of this franchise.

I love this team so damn much man.

It's crazy how we're basically the only team in the AFC who can hang with them in NE. While I didn't watch a single second of the game, I'm surprised how ineffective PIT's offense seemed to be without Bell. You'd figure they would score at least 20 LIKE WE DID, but nah.

Man, I hope our offense is *insert multiple fire emojis* next season. Not to mention, our defense is a couple of corners and pass-rushers from being great. Can this offseason start already?

At the same time his team is getting blown out partially because of his failures. The packers have had defensive issues for years and they still have them with little improvement.

Had it not been for Aaron Rodgers, this is a perennial 8-8 or 9-7 football team right here with this defense (maybe worse).

I keep reading on here how no one thinks Sanu is any good, but every time I see him play he does nothing but get open and catch passes.

Do people forget how effective he was with the Bengals as the #2? Do they forget the 2014 game in Cincy?
