Really hope JB takes this opportunity and make the most of it... he really has shown good solid hands... and run after the catch ability.. really came on the last few games of last season pretty much took snaps and targets away from Givens... I know he's a possession receiver but I really like what he brings to the group... 3rd year is a charm
I am sorry... but the Tunsil vs Stanley debate is beyond worn out... there is a lot that goes into making a decision... there are two things that go hand in hand... you have to have ability and availability... talent does you no good sitting on the sideline or I.R. I can think that also figures into the equation... from what I can remember Tunsil hasn't played a full season in college... what makes me believe that he will suddenly become reliable???
No problem with choir boys... as long as they are ball players... who are physical...
<3 Kaufusi... love this guys versatility... and variety of pass rush moves...
I side with them on this one... Ramsey has outstanding potential... but we had way to many holes in the roster to part with a third rounder to move up two spots in the draft... not worth it... especially since pass rush is a bigger need than corner... I don't care how good of a corner you are... if you consistently give QB's time in the pocket they are going to pick you apart... plus I am a little bit biased... I really like Kaufusi 3>
Not sure why so many are down on this draft but this draft hit every need other than ILB... we got better on the OL... the d-line is stacked... I like Kaufusi as an immediate starter to replace Canty... It will be a good battle between him and Guy.. Correa can be Kruger 2.0 even though I think Correa is a better athlete... the RB selected makes for a tough call in terms of which RB's to keep I honestly think that we have a very good collection of RB's... WR smh... what a competition that will be.. JB was balling last year and he's got a little bit of nasty when he's run blocking... I can't remember what game it was but he was executing a chip block... and knocked the LB of his feet... plus he primarily became the no 2 WR in an injury riddle season...
Solid draft. Great job Oz & crew. Not sure why so many Ravens "fans" complaining. This is who the Ravens are (if you don't like it, root for another team). Get after the passer (Correa, Kaufusi, Judon), stop the run (Henry), solid pass coverage (Young, Canady), protect the QB (Stanley, Lewis), offensive playmakers with a nose for the endzone (Moore, Dixon, Reynolds) ... This is how you win consistently in the NFL.
I agree with you... the only thing I would have love to see was us to take Buckner but if they had Stanley rated higher then I get it... I am not a fan of reaching for players just cause you have a position of need... I feel like you do that you miss out on a player fits what you do... best player available... I am truly excited and can't wait for these guys to get to work... OTA's are around the corner...
Oz has past his prime and DeRosta is out of his element. The FO had a ton to work with in this draft and didn't utilize it. There are maybe two or three guys in this draft that will make an impact and I'm not quite sure if the impact will be great. Where Oz used to be playing chess, he is now playing checkers. The FO has drafted poorly the last handful of years, have made terrible contractual deals that have put us in the hole as far as cap space goes. They've put dead money into guys who barely play because they are constantly fighting injuries. I could go on, but I think the point is clear. The FO is no longer ahead of the curve.

Pease should've been replaced years ago. For a team that's known for D, the D has been rather pedestrian lately. I love this team, but some changes need to be made in the hierarchy. The Ravens were set up in this draft to really add some key, young components, but the FO got a bunch of guys who will most likely be on the practice squad. I usually try to be optimistic and have faith in Oz and Co, but they've lost their edge imo. Time for some change Steve.

At least we might have a chance at getting Myles Garrett next year, but Ozzie would probably just trade back for a few 5th round picks. Lol.
There is a lot that goes into drafting a player... you have to take into account that yes the individual might be an outstanding player but they might not fit what you want him to do i.e. J Clowney.. no question that he's a freak of nature... and worthy of the number one pick... but what has he done so far in his career... nothing to write home about... does that means he's a bust... not at all... he might not be comfortable doing what they want him to do... that's why scheme fit is so important... every pick so far is this draft has been the type of player that the Ravens want... tough hard nose guys who give everything they got... other than Stanley, who is going to be a great tackle, I would have love Buckner... but Kaufusi is a more versatile player at this point... so I love that pick...hands down my most favorite pick other than the young man from Navy who should be a dynamic return guy... Kamalei has a motor like no other and Judon is a sleeper pick... if these guys live up to their potential... we should have a nice pass rush front.. lets not forget Timmy J can rush the passer... I think our secondary will be better this year once the pass rush improves...
To me, I think this entire draft was botched again by the FO. Staley is fine, since you know Monroe will be out after 2 series even if they keep him. But they continue to draft in the early rounds in positions where the rookies will sit or be limited snaps, while the positions of weakness are drafted in later rounds. Makes no sense to me to be drafting a DE, DL an OL which will be rotational players or backups when you need a quality starting ILB or CB. They also continue to draft WR's when we have 10 of them on the roster. They selected the 20 & 23rd best ranked CB on the board and allowed 14 CB's to be drafted before they selected one. For me, that is valuing that position WAY too low.
I am not a fan of reaching for players either... They tried to trade up for Ramsey... didn't get him... tried to trade back into the first one to get another corner... didn't get him... so what exactly do you want them to do??? select a corner that doesn't fit what they want to do defensively??? Every player selected meets an area of need... then you gotta realize that you have players who need to be developed for next year when you have people that are up coming free agents... i.e Zadarius was drafted to replace McPhee and will also replace Upshaw... so you gotta plan for the future... there were only two LB that made sense to draft... Darron Lee or Miles Jack... they could have played opposite of Mosley... we need an ILB that can cover and allow Mosley to blitz and stuff the run rather than have him in coverage... that what we need and that player wasn't there other than Jack... and after Perriman... I understand their reluctance to draft him after the injury filled season that they had... so I think we will be fine... they will find a player...
I guess one of the Safeties will drop down and Play the WIL LB since we haven't drafted one... I like the guy from Navy... should be a great return guy... was wondering when we were going to draft a return guy...
Another RB??? That's brings the total to 6...
ok... now we are cooking with gas... loving the last two picks!!!
Really like the day two picks... day three has started off in the wrong direction...
Thought they would select a WR with return ability... but what do I know... that's why I watch the games...
Not crazy about either pick so far... feel like we reached on both picks...but what do I know... Chris Moore smh... I don't think he's better than what we currently have love what Butler brought to the table last year...
Wanted a defensive player in the worst way... but I get it.. I don't expect for the brash to divulge their strategy and I would have love to get Ramsey of Bosa even Buckner... but hey its still a lot of above average players left on the defensive side of the ball so i guess its not as bad... can't wait for 7...
We didn't go 5-11 because of the offense... the defense let us down the first half of the year... I honestly don't care who we select... I am more concerned with the player selected to be a difference maker... i.e. C.J Mosley... that's all I care about... Go Ravens!!!
I see this being a defense heavy draft... I don't see us taking an offensive player until we get to comp picks... way to much talent on the defensive side of the ball not to select some insurance for the future in this draft...
Remember Leonard Williams was the consensus best player in the draft... but he fell all the way down to no 6... so you never really know... I can see a scenario wherein Miles Jack can fall to us.. wouldn't be surprise if a lineman or two get selected earlier than expected... or even another corner... Treadwell could be a dark horse... the Browns brought him in for a workout...
This is bigger than the game of football... this is about the game of life... I wish a speedy recovery to the young man... he has so much promise such a humble and talented individual... prays for him and his family :-/
So loving this offseason...so far
Amen... take them to church... lol
hope either wallace or perriman will be complete receivers and not one dimensional. i want to see one of them especially perriman because he is younger go over the middle and be physical like boldin was. last thing this team needs are deep only threats. sss is no longer an every down player so someone else needs to get there hands dirty.
Kamar will eventually become the possession WR of the future here in Bmore... he thrived once he stop running the Torrey route's and started running underneath stuff... he has strong hands... and competes on every snap... he was one of the only bright spots last season..
This is a good signing seeing as this years draft has no WR that can help us since everyone is so slow
The young kid Fuller out of Notre Dame is the fastest wideout in the draft... think he ran a 4.33... he wouldn't be a pick in the 2nd round... but now we don't really need a reach for one even though I do like Coleman from Oregon or the slot WR Shepard
Not sure if I am comfortable with having two smaller safeties patrolling the back end... My vote is definitely on Elam getting the axe... not the right fit in Baltimore

Exactly... I am not down playing the importance of the regular season... but championships are won in January - February... and that's when Joe is at his best... every post season he turns it up a notch... I will take a mediocre regular season and a championship rather than a strong regular season and a piss poor playoff run any day
